My boys are obsessed with the Wiggles and both want ukulele's for Christmas. I thought I had ordered them weeks ago on Amazon but it turns out they were not in stock and they have not been shipped! doh! Ideally I wanted a blue one and a red one - but at this late stage, I will take what I can get!!! Anyone seen them around? TIA:)

I had an emergency c-section with DS1 (after being induced and epidural etc) as well. With DS2 I opted for a c-section again. I could have gone for a VBAC but I decided that I wanted to preserve my energy for after the birth, and I did not want to risk starting natural labour and then having a c-section at the end anyway as last time it was utterly exhausting. My recovery from the second (and third c-sections) were far better than the first. I took arnica a month before and after which I think helped. Good luck with your decision. I am sure you will hear several positive vbac stories too - but I was pleased with the road I went down.

DS turned 3 in June and I can still get him to nap during the day. I give him "quiet time treats" like a milo or a small bit of chocolate and send him on his way. I do curb the nap to about an hour though otherwise I can't get him down in the evenings.

Congratulations on your news Ladies!!!! I am scheduled for a c-section in 8 days time to bring my twins into the world!!!! As with guiness, I am with Dr Elsa at City Hospital. She is totally amazing and inspires confidence. I feel like I am in really good hands. I had DS2 at Al Wasl but we would not have been fully covered for NICU if I had have gone back to Al Wasl whereas City Hospital is a "net work provider" with my insurance company. I didn't bother registering with Al Wasl either, it is not as cheap as it use to be (to register you would need to fork out over 7000) and I believe that City is now equally equipped to handle the premmies. I was worried about premature birth as well but currently I am 36 weeks, so holding up well. Like Guiness, this has been one of my smoothest pregnancies, apart from the sickness in the first trimester.

Pixie, I believe Dr Elsa does a very good c-section (I hope so as I have one scheduled in 2 weeks!). Freckly, that sounds like a good idea. If you are on her books as a gyne patient then you should be able to get an apt when you are pregnant easily. Good luck!!!! - I will send you baby dust (I have lots and lots;) edited by Tru Blu on 15/11/2011

You could try Howdra. They have a good rep. Otherwise, search my posts about a month back and you will find the number - I asked the same question and got an answer. :)

I am with Dr Elsa at City. I am due to deliver twins there in a few weeks time. As with Shellly, I am very happy with her - but as stated below, you may have trouble getting an apt. I couldn't get one until I was 20+ weeks so I saw another Dr in the interim.

Personally I would prefer to wait until the 12 week mark but they don't seem to encourage that here. In Aus, it is 12 weeks.

Totally normal (well, for both of mine it was anyway). Babies that are exclusively breastfed sometimes do this. One of mine went over a week!!!! I did go to the Paediatrician with DS1 and he was not worried about it at all. edited by Tru Blu on 03/11/2011

Just opt for "local cover" which will cover you and your family in the GCC. The price goes up dramatically for "regional cover". Try Daman maybe?

For my first pregnancy in Australia, the Ob did not want to see me until the 12 week mark. I think your Dr asking you in every week is excessive, unless of course there is a problem that needs to be closely monitored.

I refused the vaccinations and was actually given a very hard time about it. I delivered at Al Wasl which is the local government hospital. The medical staff kept writing "MOTHER REFUSING VACCINATIONS" over all of my papers. Totally weird. I am pretty sure that Greenish was given a hard time for refusing the vaccinations at Al Wasl as well.

My maid renewed her passport here last year and it took about 2 to 3 days at the Consulate. tel: 043516868 True but I am not sure they will let her leave Ethiopia with the expiry date looming. Also, they may be reluctant to accept her on this end..... not sure.

If you have just obtained the entry permit then she has 60 days to enter the country (then 60 days on the visit visa). It will take her approximately 3 weeks to obtain a new passport in Ethiopia.

Eric Carle books are always a winner at that age. Also, check out Anthony Browne "Things I like". Both my LO's loved it around that age.

Hi Cakes. I totally understand how you feel. I have two LO's already and am currently pregnant with twins. I am past the first trimester now but every single day I felt like I was suffering from a really bad hangover. My cells felt tired (if that makes sense). I have never felt a "tiredness" like it. Unfotunately there is nothing you can do really. Just try and get as much rest as possible, there is lots and lots going on inside of you at the moment! Also, know that it will pass, hopefully by about week 13/14/15 you will start to feel much better and have more energy. I am 31 weeks pregnant and feel heaps better than I did at 7 weeks. Good luck

sorry to disappoint but it's definitely not suitable, not even for 5 yr olds i would think! I wasted AED520 yesterday to stay all of 5 mins in the show - its a weird kind of avant guarde interpretation.....not fun at all. My friend who stayed a bit longer but still left before the end said there were none of the songs you would expect, and at one point they even had a knife out to slit the tiger's throat. Weird weird, so so disappointing esp as both DH and I left work early to take kids there who were super excited expecting to march with the elephants and sing along to all the songs! Thanks for posting JulesLC. Sorry about your wasted $$$$
