Thank you for the input ladies. I've given MFP another try, and while it does have a decent feature for counting calories in a recipe, it's not as convenient as I need. For example, some basic ingredients were not available in this tab (though they are in the basic "add food" tab), and a couple other dings. I'm very surprised I cant find something like what I want, with the million and one endless apps available these days.

Thank you Sarahlou, yes I've looked into MFP but doesn't have this feature. Unfortunately.

Not looking for diet recipes, looking to enter specific ingredients (along with amounts) to get one total calorie count for entire dish. There are many apps out there but havent found one with this specific feature. For android or iPad

Thanks for the replies ladies. I dont mind paying for quality, in fact that is a big concern is buying something that will be worn and torn in a year's time. But 3500 to start for a basic table, I thought was much.

Seems you're new in town, but as soon as you discover any cajun or nola type places to eat please share. There seems to be nothing in the name of gumbo or etoufee here. One place that supposedly had a chef from New Orleans at Novotel in Barsha is no longer there, word has it. Wanted something, especially tonight. Good luck with getting settled!

Have a relative who was in very similar (but worse) situation. She used reverse psychology on him. Pretended she wanted nothing to do with their son, as if she wanted to move away with new man and live a lavish extravagant child free lifestyle. Risky but it worked. She had to do a lot of acting, and silly things like renting a convertible car and borrowing friend's expensive handbags when around him, always dressing glamorous in his presence (took a lot of energy but was worth it in the end) He went mad and immediately could never watch their son or find the time for him. Did not fight for custody anymore, told her she'd "better buckle down and be a mother" She knew he couldn't stand the idea of her being happy, so she thought it through and did this very risky thing. Stupid charade but it worked. Best of luck, I know how terrible these situations are.

@Geordie No worries! Thank you for your input. I will check it out and here's hoping it's still available @ladymary Thank you! That DOES sound like tough furniture! I assume you did not buy it in Dubai? Do you happen to know the brand? I guess that is the difference with the real and synthetic rattan sets.

Thanks everyone. I really want the Waring one as I've heard good things, looks really easy to use and it uses less oil as it's a rotisserie style fryer. Most of the others require much more oil (which I hate to deal with) edited by Tundra on 29/01/2015

Thank you Di@DXB, that was very helpful. I feel funny contacting Mr David Edgar for just a song, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. This topic has brought so many laughs this week. One for the content of the song. Two, because the lady for whom we're song searching is anti-internet, in spite of being told how helpful it is, particularly skyping with grandkids, etc., my friend has been trying to get her to use the iPad they bought her forever ago. Imagine the convincing argument we thought we were making in "quickly" looking up this song for her, and informing her she could "look it up, buy it and listen to it in seconds, these days EVERYTHING is so easy to find on that thing!" Ha. So much for that. Now she knows for certain the internet is not only a privacy invading thing but useless as well. (of all songs on earth she had to want THAT one.....sigh)

Rarely is the internet stumped, but I am really at a loss. I present to you the lyrics of a (very interesting) song I can't find via Shazam, or Sound Hound, or Music ID, or a bunch of others. Those lyric sites and music finder apps have produced n o t h i n g. The only thing I've found is an old blog in which the song was going to be used for a film (no luck finding the film either) The person who wrote the lyrics made no mention of the song's name or the singer. Am surprised because usually, just a few words from the lyrics, or seconds of playing the tune on those apps results in finding the music. We heard it on Nigella's Lawson Christmas episode 1, which led us to the old blog, and nothing else to go with. Even the lists of songs related to that specific show we found don't include that song. My guess is the song would be called "rich is better" but again, no real clue, an old jazzy sounding tune with female singer. A friend's non internet savvy mother in law wants the song and I (regrettably) volunteered to find it because "its SO easy to find anything on the internet these days!!" So my last try is EW, please let me know if anyone has any idea who or what this song is...thanks "One day ahead, I plan to wed, S0me corporate jetter. But one thing’s sure, he wont be poor, Cause rich is better. At seventeen i saw the Queen, Just wish i’d met her. She made me switch, from poor to rich, Cause rich is better. I’ve no time to waste, Men still love to taste my chocolate laced with honey. I dont give a jot, if they’re dumb or not, As long as they’ve got, the money. So if you’re wise, and realise, that life has lit you. Believe you, me, one day you’ll see, the total picture. So don’t stay poor, whatever for? Cause rich is better! (Oh, hah, ahh) It’s not dead, it’s in my head, Not in my sweater. I quickly learnt, the poor get burnt So rich is richer. Most everyday, there comes my way, A begging letter. But i ignore, they make you poor. And rich is better!"

For anyone interested in this knife sharpening service, I used them finally. They were very good. A nice lady picked up and dropped off punctually. Happy with knives, cutting everything like butter again.

If you like Moet Chandon it's far cheaper in the US than Dubai. Several food products from Jamaica and Latin America available there that people have told me can never find here. Depending how long your trip is, you could order books, new and next to nothing used to be have shipped to your hotel. And yes, clothing, handbags, shoes, in general are better priced there in my experience. I love the outlets.
