Veggie Boutique 77 in JLT is amazing...all organic as well :) Love their chickpea omelette! In general Thai restaurants are quite good as they use mostly coconut milk and have lots of plant based options. Congrats on making the switch btw <3

Wow...we used to live in Green Lakes abt 3.5-4 years ago an moved when the rent went from 120 K to a 140 K for a 1 BR! I absolutely loved that place and always thought it was one of the best I ever lived in together with the Al Sahab in Marina. We were happy to find out that it is only almost half the price nowadays but when we had a viewing about 2 months ago we decided that it was not worth all the hassle. We realized that the security and amenities were not what they used to be but now I'm glad we didn't move...it sounds like a horrible place to live in now...too bad :(

Good morning, Keno :) Pls don't let him go and resign without having talked to the right people before. Let him go in again and have a talk with them about why and what his options are but don't let them push you into anything because once signed there's no way back. I know that his gratuity will be more if they let him go instead of him resigning...also after finishing the whole 2 years it will be much more so this could be another reason why they want him to resign now and without any notice. I'm not a huge fan of the labor office here but it's always worth a try so go there first thing now and take all the papers with you...good luck to you and keep us updated!

Hi Passoscarla :) There is actually - I know from friends. They live in the Greens but obviously they don't like the building's gym (they live phase 2 - Al Thayal) so they train somewhere nearby in Tecom. They pay 150 AED and it's supposed to be quite good. Let me try to find out exactly where it is and I'll get back to you! Cheers :)

Hi JS! I've read the whole thread and I really think you should read more carefully what most people are trying to tell you...especially DR! If there was an easy solution to losing weight then everyone would do so...people tend to pay a lot of money for a lot of bulls*** - just because it's easier and doesn't require any effort from their side...besides paying loads of money! What I'm basically trying to say is: if you don't have the will to change (in this case your eating habits) then your body / weight won't change either! No results without any effort - it's simple as that! A band / vertical sleeve can help you to lose weight but it's not gonna do the work for you! Do some more researches on healthy dieting and talk to someone professional because if I hear that your only carbohydrate consumption comes from biscuits and cornflakes I seriously wanne scream...you have no idea about healthy nutrition! No offense, really...but you need to understand how your body works...that for example all carbohydrate are basically sugars...but the more complex those CH are, the better! Eating simple CH (sugars) you basically cause your insulin level to rise quite fast...insulin, in the contrary, is a hormone that stores fat in your body...which should tell you NO BISCUITS or CORNFLAKES!!! So that's where the GI foods come in - definitely do some research on that! Some other readers also mentioned the fact that with 900 kcals you definitely put your body in a starvation mode! Being 154 cm and 70 kg (Not knowing your age I just estimated around 30...) only your BMR is already 1350...! I could probably tell you much more after seeing your food diary so please...promise to get some help from a professional nutritionist! If possible from someone who's been recommended to you because lots of them I've met have had a weekend course on healthy nutrition and call themselves specialist now - in this case you are far better off with a friend who's health conscious and has read / tried most nutrition related topics ;) Sorry if my English is not the best and fingers crossed that you will get your problems sorted and won't suffer much longer from those severe stomach pains! Eating good and healthy food should be fun and not make you feel bad...!!!

Check with KO Gym...they have the "Little Dragons" class on Saturdays and some Kids Kick Boxing during the week...it's mainly kick boxing but a very nice environment. They are located in Marina. http://www.kopromotions-dubai.com/images/timetablekogym.jpg
