Sorry Lulu12 for a late reply, changes in plan and we are still in UK, but my husband is in AD and has visited Glenelg, Belvedere, and Cambridge High School. We have decided to go for Belvedere as it was the closest to our needs. Glenelg was good too but it is American curriculum and they have no places till September. We have some friends with children in Choueifat, like busybee2 mentioned before they like to test children, from what I gather its all work and very strict, its a matter of personal choice but not for us. Cambridge High is a big and busy school, no complaints but again its full, no chance till sep.... Hope this helps.

Thanx, from what I gather Cambridge both mbz and baniyas are british curriculum schools, and thats what we are after. There are private schools here in UK which are run by Gems education and they have a good record, infact we have one locally, might ask them a few questions too. You are right we need to make enquiries locally, my husband will be going before us so all your advice will be very useful. We have emailed but no response and same with phone, cannot get through. Cannot thank you enough for your help.

thanx once again, a compound sounds better, specially in the beginning to make friends and get to know people. I was searching and came across Cambridge International School Baniyas (Gems), opening 2013, it was suppose to open this year but apparently some issue with buildings. Is there any news about that? and geographically I see Baniyas (the area not school) at the lower right of MBZ on google maps, have I got the right area?

thanx for your reply, much appreciated. We did check bisad but unfortunately its not in our budget (35000 aed per child), these were the only options we found on the internet. Property prices also look reasonable off island, so wanted to plan things all in one place. Do you have any other suggestions for british schools?? Thanks once again.

Hi all, I am new to this site and forum. We are moving to Abu Dhabi from UK next month and looking for schools for our two children ( reception and year 4). Does anyone have any feedback regarding Belvedere and Cambridge High school. Also is MBZ city a good place to live? Looking forward to your views, regards.
