I would go crazy without my TV too so i feel your pain. I feel like my life is over when Netflix is temporarily down - sad i know! I am not a tech head but can make a suggestion based on my own experiences. Unless you have changed the IP and DNS in your router (UAE bought router) your Apple TV knows that it is in the UAE when it hooks up to your wifi or ethernet and this will affect your iTunes accounts etc.. In order to get around this you need to manually change the DNS on your apple TV (it is under Settings, General and Network) to a different DNS that can be found with a google search. Unless you subscribe to an online service that charges for their DNS codes you will have to fiddle with the free ones from time to time. It can be annoying but not that big of a deal. I hope this works for you.

A greasy truck stop restaurant? Please. There is nothing truck stopish about the International House of Pancakes - lol. You either don't know what you are talking about or have spent your time in rough areas. Every IHOP I have been in is simply a clean and friendly family restaurant. Sure it is not high end but still fun and delicious! I grew up going to IHOP for a treat as a child and loved it. I still make sure to take my kids there once a year when visiting home and they love it too. BTW IHOP breakies are fun even for dinner. It's completely truck-stopish. Like Denny's. Cheap, greasy, carbohydrate-y food. I consider all the places that have IHOPs to be rough areas ... We took the kids when it first came here - out of curiosity about how they could turn such a cheap restaurant into something nice. All the kids vomited on the way out the door. Never again. Okay now you are just being silly. The area I grew up in has an IHOP and is far from rough. And I very highly doubt that all of your children threw up while leaving the restaurant. Yes pancakes are "carbohydrate-y" foods- that is not rocket science. You are too funny. edited by Vancouverite on 25/10/2014

Check with the new indoor play area by the big Spinney's. I think it is called Kid's Jungle. They run a variety of classes. MEYSO soccer school run soccer lessons for the littlies on the field behind Fitness 4 Life. DSO Ballet also offer baby ballet starting at 3yrs old. There are loads of leaflets on the community board in Spinney's about different classes too.

Bamboo is extremely invasive. I battled with it for years at my old house. Only plant it if you keep it in the container. It is a quick fix but will take over your garden. I once had a master gardener tell me at a seminar that the only real way to get rid of bamboo is a realtor :)

I am by no means a Fitness Expert but used to work as a Personal Trainer and group Fitness instructor. It seems to me that you are spending a lot of time in the gym. Which is fine but as long as it is sustainable for you. What you are doing may be a lot for you if you have been sedentary before this schedule. Good on you though - perhaps google "signs of overtraining" so you can monitor yourself. The last thing you want is an injury that can put you on the couch. :) The Circuit Factory is great but may not be an option for you as it sounds like you just signed up for a different gym. I absolutely love the Body for Life exercise Program. It is fantastic. It concentrates on building up the muscle on your body but don't let that scare you. Unless you are taking steroids it is impossible for you to end up looking like a muscle monkey. Muscle will tone you and raise your metabolism. Another great thing about the B4L program is that it gets you in and out of the gym, and you can easily follow your routine when travelling. You can also pop in to the gym when it is convenient for you and not have to schedule around classes. All of that being said I am not a proponent of the B4L eating plan. It is a bit antiquated and really pushes supplements. Just listen to your dietician and ensure you are eating enough protein. B4L is really very easy to follow. It is a 12 wk program written by Bill Phillips who really knows what he is doing. The weight training follows a half pyramid pattern with a pump at the end which really allows you to see quick results. You can buy the book at Borders. Don't buy the Body 4 Life for Women as it is a bit of a spin off and not even close as good of a program. There are also tons of B4L forums and blogs out there as well as his own Body For Life website. Defo keep up the yoga! It will keep you sane during all of the wedding planning and stretch out your beautiful new muscles!

Oh No!!! I will die without it. Hubby is on his way to Seatle right now and is on strict instruction to hit Costco and stock up (they sell them in 3 packs). He was in SFO Costco last month and could not find any. We just assumed it was a stocking error or something of the sort.

I found it but as opposed to erasing my thread I thought I may share in case anyone else is interested. We are in Zone 19 on the new World Hardiness zone map - which is the equivalent to the USDA hardiness zone 10b. Happy gardening! Or happy melting in the sun.

Best game EVER!!! so loved it! Women were so calm, cool and collected under all of the pressure - of course! Afraid the men's game tonight may be a bit of a snore comparatively. None the less I am sooo excited to watch them win!!!!! Yeah Canada!

My Husband helps with everything. Sometimes he even tries to take over and I get a little annoyed but then think - um wait.... are you seriously annoyed that he is helping too much in the house?! and... I put everything in check. My Husband is fab because his Mom did an awesome job raising him. She worked full-time as he was growing up and taught him and expected him to help out around the house. He is a real catch.

I wouldn't trust it. I bought one of those frozen desert makers and it was absolute ****. Total knock off. Have bought other items that are fine but as mentioned they are independent sellers so it is really hit and miss. I believe the MKs on groupon are authentic though.

Does anyone know the details of what happened? How old was the child? Were they alone or with an adult? etc... extremely unsettling to say the least.
