Hi Ellene, My name is Vicky, we came to AD from the UK in March and so far its great, I am 30 too, I have 2 children, 3 and 2, and they are going to start nursery for 3 days a week in Sept and we all cant wait. We live in Mohammed Bin Zayed about 15 to 20 mins away from Golf gardens I think, At the minute it is Ramadan so things are a little quiet and its very hot, my kids have settled in fine, they love that its sunny everyday, and I am still finding my way around but I am alot better now. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask, you can e-mail me at vleath@hotmail.com, take care, not long now........ you will be fine

Hi, I have two children, Mia 2 and Williaim 1, I have enroled them in at Jigsaw, to start in Septemebr, the staff are very friendly, Victoria owns it and Jane is on reception , they are lovely, plenty of staff, smaller classes than some I have seen, the curriculum seems great, its a really nice new building and the play area outside I think is second to none, the kids seem to have a wonderful time and I was personally recommended by a friend to take mine there.

Hi I moved to Abu Dhabi back in February too, and some days I feel really lonely even with two children!! I cant wait for them to start nursery in Sept then I will get a little time to myself, my name is Vicky and I live in Mohammed bin Zayed about 20 mins away, I have been borrowing my husbands car for the past two weeks as one of his reps has gone on holiday for 1 month so I have got two weeks left, then I will look at buying my own. I stayed in AD for 6 weeks in an apartment no car, it was like a prison, and I am sure we have all been in the same boat!! Just about getting to know my way around AD in a fashion anyway, it is tough driving here though!!! I have just turned 30, very out going and interested in many things, if you fancy me picking you up and taking you for a drive to yas island, Ikea, or any place in AD or even meeting in Raha mall if its easier??? and can bear two small children I would like some company one afternoon or morning!!!!! the offer is there anyway, dont just suffer in silence its the worst........... :-) my e-mail is vleath@hotmail.com edited by vll on 26/06/2011

Hi Rainbow 11, It is a good idea, but it does depend on where you shop etc clothes from Next, Matalan, Debehams, M&S, Zara & new look are all a little pricier by about a third but some stuff is about the same, If you have the time I say get some shopping in before you come but there are some great bargains to be had out here depending on where you shop. A lot of people advise on wearing maxi dresses and it is good to have a couple in your wardrobe but alot of people do just wear anything they like but just cover their shoulders up with little shrug tops, or cover up with a pashmina etc, do you know where you are staying in AD yet, hope the move goes ok for you! Vicky

Just to also add, There are so many conflicting reports on Schools, I live in MBZ, so the closest schools to me are Al Yasmina, BISAD, but that is all I know are there any other good schools to that I could try, the nursery that I was thinking of putting the kids into, if they need to wait until next year is Jigsaw just down the road, but do the schools run nurseries too????

Hi Kelly I am new too moved here in February, just moved not long ago into our new home in Mohammed bin Zayed, not that far from Khalifa A. K-A is also near to Raha Gardens, Raha Beach, and there is a mall there too and other stuff, not been yet though. I have a daughter who is 3 in Sept and a son who is 2 in Sept. Most of the malls have soft play areas for kids and toddlers. Hope you have arrived safely, give us a shout if you need to talk take care Vicky

That seems pretty cheap to me but it depends what kind of car you are after, still sounds like a good deal though!
