Hi Ladies. Have had a huge disaster with one floor tile in our main living room - completely smashed to bits so need to urgently replace as vacate the villa within next 2 months. Does anyone living in these villas have a spare tile I can buy off them or anyone know where I can source one? My only other option would be to re-tile the whole floor!! Many thanks in advance.

Hello Ladies, Looking to pop down to Satwa for the first time tomorrow. Am specifically looking for linen type materials in nice patterns for cushions. Nothign too wild, nice subtle designs and stripes etc. Can anyone suggest the best shop to go to? Also is there adequate parking there? Need to take my baby there too in his pram, are the shops buggy friendly? Oh and do the shops open from 9am...is that the best time to go? Thanks!!

Hi there, I want to go to the Falcon Gallery and searching previous posts indicate its in Al Quoz but a friend has told me that its closed down and it over Rashidyia way over the Garhoud Bridge towards Festival Centre. Are there 2 Falcon Galleries? If so which is best? Can someone give me idiot proof directions there as the best directions I've seen so far are a couple of years old and mention the old Ace off SZR but know its moved now (not sure where the old one was!!) Thanks!!!

Hi there. There are two paediatric urologists working at City. There is Dr Wasfi Joani who by all accounts is the best man to see in this field here. Comes very highly recommended (check on here about him) and is head of the middle east paeds board. However I found his bedside manner to be quite cold and was left quite upset after a visit with him but that shouldn't detract from his surgical capabilities. I also saw another surgeon that has just started at City called Dr Samuel. He was fantastic. He took time to explain everything, answer all my questions, provide examples of previous work etc. I was really happy with him. HTHs

Duddym, you did ask the question first so you can have first refusal...my DS is only 8 weeks so no rush for one just now! There is a possibility I can borrow a friends anyway.

Thanks, good to know! I suppose having a wibbling, hormonal new mum to deal with may have made him feel a bit uneasy too!

Hi there. My DD attends this nursery after attending 2 other nurseries prior to this. Have to say it's been one of the best decisions I've made. She is totally thriving there. I agree the fees are quite expensive compared to other nurseries but I feel the facilities and educational materials used within the classroom are far superior to other places I've seen. The teachers and teaching assistants in each classroom are typically European with educational backgrounds so I imagine their salary costs are higher than most nurseries whose assistants are usually Phillipino and therefore probably paid considerably less. I'm a firm believer that what will suit one person may not be best for everyone but I really feel I have found the best fit for my DD here. I cannot praise the staff enough. However if this is the only place you have looked at then I would suggest visiting a few more nurseries just to make sure you find the right place for you and your child.

Hiya. Am I right in thinking you mean the motor city green community pools? I live here and personally I would have no problem with it as a parent myself however I have witnessed complaints before from some residents when parties like this happen (the same people who are usually quite happy having their friends all over, music playing and drinking beer from their coolers!!! There is usually a limit on how many people can use the pool at any given time so as long as residents can still use their pool would think it would be ok. One thing to note is the availability of life guards. They turn up at all times (think it was 2pm last Friday!) and technically you are not supposed to use the pools in their absence. Would be a big responsibIlity to look after the kids without this supervision. Lots of people are heading home soon so pools will start to get pretty deserted anyway.

Hi ladies, Due to go into hospital very soon so was looKing for a nice dressing gown to taKe with me. Something pretty and lightweight due to the heat. Was hoping for something along the lines of a Kimono style. Had a look round a few shops without much success so far. Has anyone any idea where I could get something like this? TIA

Sorry late update. Thank you so much ladies. Called the post office and sure enough they had the parcel and arranged delivery etc for me. Also have to add that their customer service was fantastic and talking to them was a joy. I usually have loads of problems being understood on the phone due to my Scottish accent. Thanks again!

Hello ladIes, I ordered some goods over the Internet from the UK for delivery to my PO Box in Dubai. The supplier sent this parcel recorded delivery with Royal Mail. I have never received the parcel so chased up the supplier who tracked the order online and the Royal Mail website said that they attempted to deliver the parcel on the 8th of April but were unsuccessful. I suspect the problem is that no one was able To sign for the parcel so delivery to the PO Box could not be done. Unfortunately I know have no idea where this parcel is now! I would presume it is still with Royal Mail or their partner of sorts in Dubai but no idea who they are or where to check next. Royal Mail website is not indicating that any further attempt has been made to deliver or offers any alternative contact details. Has anyone had a similar problem or know how the post works here? Any ideas where I could find this parcel? Thanks!

Hi there. I posted the same question a couple of weeks ago, reply I got was they were in Mothercare and Babyshop but not checked yet myself. I also found a shop online located in Deira that sells them but also deliver too.....goodbabydubai.com. Think they were about 325dhs. Again not tried ordering from them yet. HTH.

I recently used a company called Airy Fairy who specialise in cakes with dietary requirements. It wasn't a cake but cupcakes but still really yummy. Don't have the number to hand but the lady was called Stephanie and you can find her on Facebook with photos of her products. HTH

Hi ladies, bit late of me gatecrashing! I'm 19 weeks along with my second. Due date 21st June. No idea what I'm having as bubs has been very uncooperative at every scan! 20 week scan next Wednesday so hopefully find out then. Been pretty awful so far, terrible morning sickness, kidney infections, skin problems but hopefully over worst of it now. Obviously making up for my dream pregnancy first time round! Hope all you blossoming ladies are well :)
