Thanks for the comments ladies. I did have a talk and they promised to look into it and took extra care of my DS on his second day. He was a bit clingy and uncomfortable and was crying again when I picked him up although it seemed the teachers were really more attentive that day. However I still have an uneasy gut feeling about the nursery now and am actually looking at another one tomorrow instead (Ladybird which I have heard good things about).

Thanks for your reply. I'm a first time mum so wasn't sure if I was overreacting or not. I am going to have a talk with the centre manager when I take him next and if my son is still not happy I will pull him out. Poor thing is a very social kid but 3 is too young to have to deal with a bully!

My DS who is 3 started nursery today. He did really well and thankfully no tears when I left him there. However when I went to pick him up he was in tears - it seems a boy had hit him on the head. My DS is quite a tough kid so it must have hurt for him to cry as hard as he was. What alarmed me was the staff were just standing around chit chatting while he was bawling his eyes out and claimed not to know why he was crying. No one was comforting him or trying to see what was wrong and avoided my questioning. My son explained what happened but I saw no real action being taken to discipline the other boy. Maybe I am being too sensitive? He is not very excited about going again and to be honest I am not feeling too confident with the nursery itself...

I use the Anagen Serum capsules which were prescribed by my Doc. You apply after your shower direct to your hair. Highly recommend

I bought the Britax Roundabout car seat here from Babyshop and it enables you to maintain rear-facing longer than usual. My son was in rear facing position till about 2 plus years. Fit well in our Prado too Just checked - it can stay rear facing for children weighing 5lb To 40lb. edited by Wesoon on 16/12/2011

I am very wary of her now yes. We have been trying to speak to the manager at the agency in order to determine the procedure. She still doesn't have a clue I know and won't till I figure what to do. I am quite bummed as my LO has just gotten used to her and overall she was quite good. Ah maid troubles!!

Brunch is a play on the word Breakfast + Lunch. They usually are from noon to 4pm. Think you might mean dinner buffets.. edited by Wesoon on 30/11/2011

I just found out that my live in maid actually ran away from her past employers in Kuwait. Bit usure what I should do now... She has been with us for four months and things are fairly ok up until yesterday. I have a nearly 3 year old son who is in a naughty stage and she isn't very good with handling his tantrums although I am there to help guide her through it (so she knows what to do in case I am out) After a bit of drama in the morning she came and asked me to take her back to the agency. Her excuse was that 'my son doesn't like her' which isnt the case really. at first I said no as I will lose lots of money however later on I decided that if she is unhappy i'd rather she go than risk leaving her here with my son. A few hours later she came to me and apologised and begged that we let her stay. After sitting and talking with her we decided to give things another go. However now that I have found out she has ran away previously I am quite nervous to leave her at home and am worried she might flee on her day off when she goes out. Any advice?

I am having a hard time finding a good bilingual nursery for my DS. I have brought him up speaking Arabic mainly as it is a harder language to grasp. Can anyone recommend a good nursery with Arabic teachers or TAs? TIA

My son was exactly the same and although everyone said it would pass I still decided to take him to see an Occupational Therapist just to make sure. After an extensive questionaire and assessment she did say he had an 'extra sensitve mouth' and slight texture aversion. She gave me a small tooth brush looking device that I had to use daily - it vibrates much like an electric toothbrush but no bristles. We used to use it around his mouth and inside on his tonge etc to help decrease his sensitivity. She also suggested that finger foods would work better than lumpy food and I started with soft french fries. Honestly it took a month of hard work but so worth it. Now he eats nearly everything and loves things like rice and normal cereal. I also find that if he joins us at the dinner table he is much more open to trying new foods If you really want to put your mind to rest then do see somone. I used Kids First on al wasl road. Natalie there was great. Good luck

Thanks ladies - all good advice. I think she was trying too hard and he is a stubborn one so I have asked her to pull back a bit. Seems to be helping. So far he has calmed down on the nappy change (also would scream) and even let her put him down for a nap yesterday! Although it took half an hour of convincing LOL She seems like a sweet girl so far - will give her another month and if he is still not comfortable then unfortunately might have to change her... Fingers crossed!

Hi Speed-Queen My family's full time maid is leaving us for live out however think she might have already find someone. Let me check for you. She is very very good - trustworthy and such a sweet girl. I regularly ask her to babysit my toddler and she is excellent with him. My mum is sad to see her go however she needs a full time maid and our maid's husband is now working in Dubai and she would rather stay with him. Email me your details to wesoon at yahoo dot com and I can ask her to get in touch if she is still looking thanks

Hang in there Ziii - we all have those days I think its just wise to choose your battles. My DS is the same - also 2.5 years and insists on wearing read trousers daily! I think its just funny really and went out to Max to buy him some cheap red trousers - 3 pairs of them! they are just trying to express themselves at this age I think and its in important to give them space to make choices. Just make sure you praise when he does the good stuff and stick to your guns when he is being naughty. I have found the best way to deal with my son's whining or tantrums is to say no, walk away and ignore. Usually its resolved within minutes. Good luck!

I have one that I am selling that I have only used once (cross my heart!). its in super condition and has the instruction manual etc. We bought it for travel that then got cancelled. please email me if to wesoon at yahoo dot com if you are interested! Does anyone know where it is possible to purchase a Sit-N-Stroll in Dubai? Any opinions on the product's effectiveness would also be greatly appreciated. We would also consider buying second hand if someone wants to sell. Cheers

I would look online. That's where I got my dress. I spoke to the customer service and gave them my exact measurments and they sent me the dress size the closest. I had to do some very minor adjustments to the dress at a tailor here. Saved THOUSANDS by not buying here. Alternatively I would see if you could find any second hand dresses. I am sure there are many ladies looking to sell. I have a size 14 if you are interested! Good luck

I have a good sized L shape sofa on the back wall where the window is and TV on opp side. Dining area by the Balcony. I have a lazy boy facing the L shape and not a very big coffee table in the middle so there is some room to move around.

I'm a recruiter and that is beyond horrendous. I had a client that asked that of me once a few years back and I refused to do it. Told my boss I would rather lose the client. Thankfully my company completely agreed and we dropped them!
