The downstairs sweet shop in Dubai Mall near the organics supermarket (the one where they make icecream in the window) sometimes has it-buy it for the mother in law-think it is a Jordamian brand-and not cheap either sadly Do they have sugar free? hmm.. interesting MIL says it tastes fine

Thank you very much for your replies. You make me happy and calm down. Which pharmacies can I get them? Could I buy more than 1 box? How much do they cost? I have a Spanish prescription from my Dermatologist, shall I show them? I also take hair loss pills, would you recommend me one? Are biotin and dexpathenol vials or pills available? Very grateful for your help. With the Androcur all the pharmacies I have tried have had it in stock-you can buy as many boxes as you wish at once-if it isn't in stock they will get it in-I am not in Dubai to check at the minute but from memory the cost of a box of 20 x 50mg tablets was around 140 dhs.

We have a 2 piece one from Villeroy and Boch-comprises of a chest holding 25 different ceramic decorations and backed by Santa and a large tree with metal hooks to hang them on-just lovely-bought ours in Australia but will be cheaper in Dubai if the Villeroy & Boch store can get you one in-otherwise Macys has it on sale. Tried to post a link with no luck but if you Google it you can see a range-mine is the 2 piece one. It isn't cheap but will last for the next generation

Be careful your kids don't come across one of these accessories for National Day, wearing it, even innocently, could be a problem. [url=http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/general/vendetta-masks-in-uae-colours-draw-warning-1.1105928'>link[/url'> Saw these being sold-and they were being snapped up by young Emirati men so might be interesting.....

Hi Ladies I know this has been done before and based on previous information on here I understood that it was possible to take the Etihad coach without having a flight by paying Dh75. I called their call centre this morning to confirm this and check times only to be told that it's never been possible as all seats are assigned against a flight ticket. I tried explaining that people have already been doing this but clearly this did not compute. Is the bus driver doing this off his own bat?? Anyone who's done this can you please advise? My young brother works in Dubai during the week but comes to us in AD for the weekends so needs to get up here on a Thursday (finishes work in DIFC at 5.30) "and goes back up on a Saturday evening. He tried to get the E101 from Ibn Battuta last time but there were about 300 people waiting for the 7pm bus and he didn't manage to get on and was told he would have to wait til 8.30 so ended up taking a taxi. Taxis both ways every week will end up costing a fortune. Any suggestions ladies? Help!! Many thanks in advance x How odd-you might tell them that info about the 75 dh ticket is on their own website-and you can providing the bus isn't fully booked! Just checked-seems they have changed it and you need to be flying by another airline for this " Guests travelling on flights operated by other airlines can avail the Etihad Express service for a nominal fee of AED 75/- per person per way. The service may be booked through an Etihad Airways office or through a local travel agent at least 24 hours prior to travel date." Pity.

Almost-but not quite-tempted to ring up and listen. I was on the phone to the electricity company back home for over an hour yesterday as my son hadn't received a bill that is always due on this date. Finally got through after umpteen "Your call has progressed in the queue-we value you as a customer" to be told they were late reading the meter this month and bills were yet to be issued-grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'd be looking at why she can't sleep-is she over stimulated with too much Facebook or TV? Is she eating or drinking sugary snacks before bed etc. My son used to have a cello solo CD he always put on before bed to lull him off-which his other heavy metal CDs certainly didn't!

Hope you don't get checked in by anyone like the grumpy old check-in guy who was on the desk next to the one we checked in at on Saturday with Emirates at Gatwick. DH was made to load and offload each of our 7 pieces of luggage (4 of us travelling) onto the converyor so the check-in woman could tot down each bag's weight and then add them up. DH grumbled loudly (he also wasn't well) that we'd never had to do this before (he's also Gold card so does generally travel solo and Business and not with his 3 women lol) and the old guy at the adjacent desk chuckled loudly and told DH he should be grateful for the free exercise! DH needless to say was seriously dis-chuffed! Hope not too-mine is mostly bulky stuff with heaps of bubble wrap round-will have trouble getting to 46 kilos sadly-hate wasting my allowace! Better head to Herhseys and such and buy DS some junk food!

I am pretty sure it can be over multiple pieces up to your total allowance. Just make sure each piece is under the 23 kgs or the guys in Oz wont lift it! Thanks-I don't have heavy things-just bulky ones so I want to make the most of the allowance by using an extra bag/box if possible

I am a gold Skywards member so am entitled to 46 kilos when travelling economy back to Australia. What I am unsure about is whether this means 2 bags of 23 kilos or if you can spread the weight over 3 bags-looked on their baggage calculator but it isn't clear-or maybe I am dense! Thanks in advance

Yes, it's probably available at Dragonmart... but as always with Dragonmart, the question would have to be "where??!!" :) Believe it or not the guys on the information counters at Dragon Mart are a fountain of information on what is where and will jot down which shops to try-maybe take a sample with you though if you have it to save explaining what you are after

A shop called ASRAR at Ibn Battuta do the standard name pendant for 120 plus the ones that sit on shells are a little more expensive. It is like a kiosk in the middle of the concourse atIbn Battuta Think that is another branch of the one in Mercato-did you add in the cost of the chain-think that was around 70dhs which makes the prices similar

They leave every half hour from the corner near Burjuman-Indian restaurant side. X29 or 26? I think-anyway the only bus with x on the number-don't make many stops as it is express. Keep an eye out for Dragon Mart or ask the driver as it stops a little distance off. On the way back you have to catch the 300 back to connect to the express bus-no idea why they changed it but they did. edited by wuffles on 30/10/2012

Snap out of it??? Have you any idea how exhausting and confronting it can be caring for a child with special needs? Sorry but comments like that really annoy me as the parent of a child with a severe-but hidden -disability Yes, I know. Sorry, perhaps I should have said that she needs to quickly understand the implications of this and what impact it would have. [i'>IF[/i'> I was a regular expat and my children had any form of learning difficulties or medical issues then I would not be here, trust me. I have spent a lot of time searching for pediatric cardiologists, pediatric endocrinologists, educational therapists etc etc.....and it sucks. We still make 2 trips a year to GOSH in London for the doctor and with everything Dubai offers, there is a lot missing. I have not personally dealt with any of the profit schools here but I have seen friends struggle. I understand-let my husband come to Dubai 18 months before I followed as I wanted my son to finish school and go to uni in Australia where I knew his needs would be met. He wouldn't have coped here.

She just needs a wee bit of kind encouragement and support. :) It may be a shock to her, but she needs to snap out of it quickly and move on to the next hurdle. Of course it is blaringly obvious that he has a problem since he has a shadow teacher, I am just wondering what tests he had done and what results the school were shown before he was assigned a shadow? Did the school force this? She will only get support from other Moms and boards like this, for now she must know that there will be instant hurdles in Dubai. Snap out of it??? Have you any idea how exhausting and confronting it can be caring for a child with special needs? Sorry but comments like that really annoy me as the parent of a child with a severe-but hidden -disability I think, if Maskhara is who I think she is, that she knows first hand about having a child with additional needs and its her experiences here that has maybe made her adopt the 'snap out' of it approach. I think she's had a lot of barnying to do with schools and she knows what could be down the road for Nelly getting her son an education. I dont think the snap out of it was meant unkindly but even then I'm not so sure people can just snap out of it. I think there's stages we all have to go through and once we do - we move on. Fair enough-if that is so-still think I would have bitten someone's head off if they told me to 'snap out of it' while dealing with administration in schools!

I bought them in French-don't ask!-from Virgin Magastore so I guess they are likely to have the English version too. They have been modified from the original as the gollywogs were politically incorrect! I still have the originals which are apparently quite valuable.

If by special shops you mean those selling only Christmas decorations a few spring up in Karama each year. I haven't been down lately to check but suspect it is still a bit early for them to be open. Once they do they have a reasonable range-and good prices too plus some nice hand made Indian decorations. edited by wuffles on 30/10/2012

Thanks Ladies!!! @ Mrs Whippy - pardon my ignorance but is Khan Murjan at Wafi (quick google search suggests it is)? :) It is the underground market there. The calligrapher is amazing-he has won many awards and is really interesting to talk with-not inexpensive but incredible workmanship. Not sure he is there all the time mind you as the market is sadly rather quiet but maybe busier during Eid
