Beware of the emicool bills - loading charges before usage is 700 AED per month (so add another 8400) for townhouse to rent. I think the same charge on bungalow is 1000 and on the family villas 1300. Layout is great, backyards have no privacy at all. <em>edited by xmasbaby on 01/05/2011</em>

Our lease was from 1 April 10 to 31 March 11. He was suppose to provide 2 months notice under the agreement but he didn't provide notice until 28 February so technically 28 days after he was meant to. We emailed him to let him know that we were keen to stay and wanted to know when he wanted to meet to get new cheques (we paid 2 cheques for the year). He then informed us that his wife and kids have moved over from Egypt and will now occupy the villa. To be honest, I did see a family viewing our villa from the outside several times but kind of from afar. I now understand that it was them. Our rent was paid until 1 April and now we have until 31 May to vacate. I dont know but now I feel weird staying here knowing we're not wanted..hehe

We lived there before moving to the ranches and loved it. My oldest loved the beach and the pools and made some very good friends there. I liked having the gyms so accessible and the restaurants. We moved to be nearer to their schools. Having said that the one issue I did have was that there a large number of tourists renting out appartments short-term and so I guess I felt like I needed to be extra careful at the play areas/beach with my little ones, simply b/c there wasn't that community feel (the guests being so transient). We really enjoyed our time there (lived there 2 years). edited for spelling <em>edited by xmasbaby on 28/04/2011</em>

Thanks M_King but thats kind of what happened. He failed to give us adequate notice and so my dh asked him to give us 2 months extra which is end of May - he hasn't asked for rent either which is very nice! I am frustrated b/c when he gave us notice, prices were cheaper but no landlord wanted to commit for two months away and I kept reassuring myself that prices would drop further but now prices have actually gone up right as we have to move! lol

My sibling is 6 years younger than me and we are very close. We meet up once a week for tea and keep in touch via email regularly. We speak 1-2 a week on the phone - usually short convo's. They live here now too.

I think Dr Dukan may have underestimated the amount of fat free protein I can eat. Granted it's only the first day, but has anyone actually *gained* weight on this diet??? No worries, 1kg of dairy is the allowance!

I know the feeling, I've gone from looking at villas in Jumeirah, to the Meadows, to the Villa to Al Quoz and now Al Barsha. I wish my landlord wasn't moving in to our place so we could just stay! ARGH!! I'm paying a hefty amount and I just think its stupid to not try and save money with so many options out there but of course, this too comes with a cost!

- up at 6:30 -Eats toast or oatmeal -Leave 7:15 -Snack box: /carrots/cucumber sticks/fruit/water bottle/ -Lunch: sandwich/pasta/cheese, raisons/waterbottle -yes, she's had to do number 2 but tries not to. We still assist with number 2. -3:30, when she comes home, snack. On days with no activities -5:00, bath, dinner -6:30, snack, bedtime story, bed 7:00 - asleep

A small success - two months in in a few days and while I am still 3kg from my goal, I haven't eaten any of the godiva Easter chocolates in our fridge and today the office, turned down a huge piece of chocolate cake without batting an eye! I would have never been able to do this a few months ago! YEAH Dukan.

Lemon drizzle cake! No afternoon tea is complete without it and it's apparently really easy too. I've never baked it but it's one of my favourites that Granny makes. Found this recipe: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4942/lemon-drizzle-cake Absolutely!!! A must in our house every week - yum!

We want phase 1 but there doesn't seem availabillity. The vacant ones seem to be in RK. There are a number in phase 3 but its so far out - that's interesting that they are doing those first..perhaps I should consider that since there are tons available there.

I'm afraid mine has never returned to normal and getting thinner by the minute. I have really thick hair but now on top, its becoming so thin, I can see my scalp where I used to have hair. I started using regaine but haven't seen any results as yet - one month.

Its in the cereal section just called QatBran cereal but just make sure its pure oatbran. You only eat 1 1/5 tbsp on the attack and 2 tbsp on cruise. I add skim milk, stick in micro for 30 sections add cinny and eat as porriage.

Mabel, sorry you've had to go through this. I would think this is anyone's worst nightmare and I am glad that you are safe. I hope that you feel better and definitely consider an alarm system or pet. We have a dog and the minute anyone gets on to our driveway, she goes nuts. Its annoying at times but when she does it, I feel a lot safer. xx

If it were my cousin, I'd send a message saying, look in case you don't know the pictures from "x" are visible to everyone. Thought you might want to know :) My husbands younger cousin kept putting inappropriate pictures (and I mean very very inappropriate) as her profile picture and I was horrified...not to mention she had listed me as Family. Finally one of the cousins emailed her - she was ****** but did change the picture! lol

How about a framed picture of you too with a blinged out frame. When I think of Dubai, I think of sparkles - shoes, phones, any opportunity to put diamond like stuff on it. Once a friend gave me a stapler with little swarovski's on it, and I thought "how dubai"!

Had a reduction with Dr. Buthainah and they are perfect. Barely any scarring at all (can only notice if you look closely) and perfect size/shape. Thanks for the update, i was going to go and see him soon so i'll contact him there then, amazing surgeon isnt he! Dr. Buthainah is a woman.. She's Emrati but was trained in the US.

Both dh and I are British. Dh was born in Canada to British parents so he was the same as your DH. When had dd last year, the British consulate, provided birth certificate and passport once I provided my birth certificate. No problem whatsover. UAE law is irrelevant in this case.

We used Dr. Brown's preemie nipples and they worked a treat. I was nursing but would pump as she would get tired nursing. I have heaps if you want.

With my first, I did the whole natural thing with a doula and the like - it was the worst pain I've ever felt. With my second, I did the epidural, and i have to say, it was amazing. I could still feel the contractions, the pain wasn't unbearable and I could still feel everything but just not the pain. I had back labour with both and I have to say it was better pain wise the second time. Just my experience though.

We have to go..its my husbands brother! lol so I really did mean close relative. Ninonemo, we invited a lot of our relatives from abroad to our wedding as well and didnt' expect a gift but bc its his brother I don't know if I'm being a bit overly frugal.
