Just to let you know we managed to get a great dress in Marina Mall - the shop is called Seduce. Very helpful staff and luckily 50% off. Also tried some in bcbg max azria - lots of choice there too.

Love this airport - we use it often to go to Doha. No queues and stress free.

A friend of my daughters is visiting from UK next month and wants to buy a dress suitable for her School Prom - she is only here for a week so having one made is not an option. Does anyone have any recommendations for shops that we can try. She doesn't want to spend more than 1800 Dhs.

Qatar can be difficult to enter - South African Passport holders do not qualify for visas on arrival so everything has to be done before you arrive. This link shows info re GCC residents and it looks like that is occupation based so may not help. http://dohahamadairport.com/airport-guide/at-the-airport/visas-immigration

Try Gant for casual trousers and Tommy Hilfiger for blouses (their sleeves are always too long for me so I am sure that they are made for tall people!)

Hi - we finally moved to the Green Community and love it here. I am trying to find an ironing service for shirts and trousers similar to the one I used in Abu Dhabi. The local dry cleaner want to charge Dhs 10 per item but this seems excessive !

We lived at the marriott hotel apartments in Dubai Investment Park for a year. We really liked it there, peace and quiet, only had a one bedroomed thou. Many thanks for that tip - we have looked at a few apartments and decided on a 2 bedder at the Marriott Courtyard. The area looks lovely and peaceful and I like the fact that its low rise :) edited by yallakuwait on 21/09/2014
