Hi ladies! Congrats on all your pregnancies. You seem like a friendly bunch. I'm officially due on 5th Dec but as it's my 3rd cs I've been told it will probably have to be carried out at least 2 weeks before that! Am going to try and change their minds on that one as personally I think it's excessive. But... looks like I may well have a Dec baby. KB x Hiya! So you will more than likely have a Nov baby! :) Anyone been doing prenatal pilates? Ive been going to Real Pilates its great! :)

Hi all, Just a quick Q, Im in the UK atm, and have made the decision to have my baby here (due in Nov) Ive had my booking in apt with a midwife who was lovely and said it is fine for me to come back to the UK at around 34 weeks, she gave me my maternity notes and a list of which check ups I need between now and week 34 when ill come back. She also said to try to get the notes filled in by whoever see's me in Dubai for my check ups. In Dubai I was with DR Raj at AH before deciding to return home for the birth, now I dont really see the point in continuing my care there as the hospital is quite a drive for me and Im just wondering if there is a small clinic where they have midwife / dr that can just carry out these check ups and fill in my notes? maybe a british midwife that has experience of the system in the UK? Also I was supposed to have the glucose tolerence test next week, midwife here said she would refuse it as its quite alot to put yourself through, with the heat as well, and I really dont need to do it she tells me. What do you ladies think? Thanks for any help, sorry if post is confusing!! :)

Hi YJB - I would advise you to book in advance as the class was full. But you can pay for a single class, which is what I did just in case it didn't go to plan. I'll def be going back next wk though :-) Thanks for the info..will def have to try it :)

Thanks! I went to prenatal pilates at RP this morning and it was fab! Harder than expected (think I'll be sore tomorrow) but def worth it. Divine (the instructor) is very good and also friendly and approachable. Hi KarenBlixen, can you just show up to the pilates or you have to pay in advance? Im thinking I will try it this week, my back has just started to hurt really bad!

Hi borntobefree! I was told at the NT Scan I am having a girl, didnt really believe it 100 percent as it was so early. When I was away now at home I had a 3d gender scan at 19 weeks..it was amazing! and confirmed that we definately have a little lady, now have seen it with my own eyes in 3d. I would recommend a 3d scan if you are thinking about it, we got to see her yawning and kicking around it was so sweet :) I was gutted when the scan was over, I could have watched her all day!

I have the angelsounds doppler too, just wanted to say its fab! i heard the babys heartbeat right away. I got it when I just reached 16 weeks I think, and was really easy to find it. Im still using it because I havent felt any kicks from my little girly just yet, when I start having regular movements I will sell this one on! I got mine from ebay brand new, really good price but I got it sent to the UK.

Yellow Jelly Bean, So weird, i read that you had no sickness or anything and i didn't either. And you're from the UK too. I'd love to meet up for coffee (decaf). I live in the springs, which area are you in. This is extended to all of course!!! So glad this forum exists, it's helping me to get excited and at the same time calming me down when i panic over little things. Thanks guys. X Thats wierd! yea i had no morning sickness at all, was quite smug about it actually :) was worried at times, but have had to learn to stay away from google because it scares me, would rather come on here and speak to real women. Yea would definately be up for meeting up, im going back to the uk in a week (lucky me) will be gone a few weeks, so maybe when i get back we can meet up for a cuppa, might even have a bump then! Im in Jumeira so not too far, drive as well so dont mind going anywhere. We should try to get all of us november ladies together, gets me out of the house and away from this heat! :)

Congrats! I was u a few months ago..totally confused! I started by just going to my nearest clinic which was a welcare clinic. I didnt like it too much after a while so I got an app with one of the ob/gyn in the american hospital. Now i see her like once a month and for my scans, will deliver there with the same dr. Its really nice there, the nurses are lovely too and its well organized. If your insurance covers the american I would definately recommend it, you might wait a few weeks for your first appointment but once you are in, you will then get your appointments easily. Best of luck :)

Hi everyone, I'm due Nov 14th. First baby. Very excited. Dr George (a guy) at American Hospital was recommended to me by a mother who had had her 3rd baby out here and had some experience of these things. My husband and i are thrilled with him. He's very calm, he includes my husband in things, and seems to be really excited about our baby too. He also gives you his personal mobile number so if you (god forbid) have any bleeding or problems you can get in contact with him directly. Although he is very busy (he is the fetal medicine consultant) and not everything is covered by insurance, such as scans, i'm sure he would be able to take you. Also, due to his speciality, he would take someone with a pre-existing condition. So glad that this thread has started. I'm 26 so although i don't regard myself as young to be pregnant but, i do feel like i don't have a group of mothers to be around me that i feel comfortable with. None of my friends out here are at that stage yet, they're still brunching which is not much fun for me. I haven't wanted to go to any coffee morning yet cos i'm not showing and i feel a bit of a fraud. It's really great to have this though, i'm sure i'll feel different when i'm showing. Pooka xxx Pooka I am 25, expecting my first baby and on Nov 14th! wow! I feel the same as you regarding having mums around me..maybe we can all get together for coffee? if anyone interested. I also was holding out for Dr Elsa as she was recommended- city told me an apt wuld be available in June but the other day I got this text to say its now August. I managed to get an apt with Dr Raj - Love her! so happy with her shes great :)

*hugs* YellowJellyBean!! It must be such a stressful time for you, but hopefully it will all be okay! x If after you see your OB and it is determined to be a low lying placenta/high risk pregnancy, I highly recommend that you register at Al Wasl Hospital. It is much better equipped to deal with high risk pregnancies and preterm labours, and has the most advanced NICU unit in Dubai. Unfortunately, it is no longer free, but the cost still remains *more* affordable than the private hospitals - check with your insurance, you might be able to do pay and claim. Here's hoping you get some reassuring news tomorrow x Thanks Lemondrops :) Yes I think its definately a good idea to register with them, will be looking into it asap, thanks for bringing that up. Hoping for good news tomorrow, will update. :) X

Stovetop- Thanks so much for the info. It does sound like that is what it is. Bleeding has almost all stopped so Im just gonna get as much rest as possible for a while and try my best to stop worrying. I actually agree with you, about the Duphaston (I know its not prescribed in the uk which puts me off taking it) Will just have to see how it goes :) Thanks again

Oh YellowJellyBean- how frightening for you. I don't have any advice, having not experienced this, but would say that you do hear a lot of people bleeding in perfectly healthy pregnancies and everything works out just fine. Sending you lots of baby dust... Thankyou :)

Ladies, I need abit of advice. Im almost 14 weeks now. Had my NT scan a few days ago and everything was perfect. Early this morning 5 am I woke up bleeding quite alot so went straight to emergency room at medcare. Had an examination and a scan. Everything was perfect on the scan, heartbeat was strong. Ive been told to rest, take duphaston, it is probably due to low placenta etc. I dont have any cramps at all, feel fine just so worried. It has slowed down alot and Im hoping it will stop completely..what would you do, should I go else where and check again? Its my first baby so not much experience except google which is telling me it shows the signs of placenta previa. Would they not tell me that at my NT scan though? Im so confused and worried :(

Thats disgusting, I dont know who they think they are, in these shops sometimes. The job is 'sales assistant' hello?! Its a shame that a brand like LV has this kind of staff in dubai. you should write a formal complaint.

Hi, Im also going to FMC for nt scan, they told me the cost is 1550 dhs. Im also Oman Insurance (premium network) and I called Oman, they told me they will not cover anything done at FMC because its 'optional' and not a regular scan.
