Hi ladies. Quick question... how many minutes/hrs by car would it take to travel from the Savoy Hotel (Strand London) to London St Pancras Int'l Eurostar station? Need to plan our hotel transfer but not sure what time to leave the hotel. We need to be at the station by 7:30am, how early would we have to leave the hotel? Is it traffic that early in the morning during school holidays? TIA.

Hi Sue R! His show is on Friday, 8:00pm. I live in Abu Dhabi but I have asked a friend to take the tickets since he lives in Dubai. Would you be able to meet up in Academic City tonight or Discovery Gardens on Thursday? Either is fine with him. You can reach me on subscriptions at eim dot ae. Thanks.

For our trip in the Hout Bay area, we will be staying at Le Marais, so we have a good couple of days. I'm just not sure which to do when?

Thanks so much for the advice. I think I might have to cut out the lion park, croc farm, and giraffe house then. Now another question for you, how about a trip to Hout Bay? How would you recommend splitting this day in Hout Bay area: * Hout Bay * World of Birds * Cape of Good Hope * Flying Dutchman * Boulders Beach * Simon’s Town * Scratch Patch * Cape Point Ostrich Farm * Imhoff Farm

Got mine at Mercato in Triumph on the first floor. Did you mean you got your wonderbra at Mercato? I'm looking for the original wonderbra? Where can I find them? Thanks

Thanks Appletiser. From the threads I have gone through over and over again about Cape Town, I have come up with the following list of things to see. If anyone would like to add to the list, suggestions are most welcome: - whale watching - chapmans peak - camps bay - dinner @ long street - table mountain - waterfront - world of birds - oceans aquarium - hout bay - cape good hope Did I miss anything?

My kiddos are below the age of 7 so I'm not too sure if they're old enough. Thanks for the thought. I've booked the game reserve, hotels, and car rental, but I still haven't booked our plane tickets yet. I'm still waiting for my husband to ask his company how they go about booking the tickets. We're not sure if they have to book our tickets or we can book them ousrelves and get them reimbursed later on. I hope by the time we find out, there'll be seats left!

I've been planning our trip to Cape Town the past couple of weeks and I am absolutely excited! 9 more months to go! Your trip sounds amazing. I really wish we could do the shark cage diving and bridge bunge but with kids in tow, maybe next time. Thanks for a detailed update.

Hi again. I think I've got my holiday planning under control but i just want to be sure i haven't missed anything out. So, I've booked the hotel, game reserve, and car rental. The places to visit like table mountain, etc. I assume I can buy tickets online closer to the date? Or do I need to purchase those in advance as well? To all that have been through this planning for a trip to cape town before I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks very much.

Simone N + CoffeeGal, thanks so much for your input. I think I have narrowed it down to the Garden Route Game Lodge. Thank you for all the suggestions. I did a search on some hotels and to my surprise, they're all fully-booked!!! Am I really that late in planning for a December holiday? :(

Welcome to the forum Y&N Aquilla is a big let down.. it hardly a game reserve. It's new and very small and they are still trying to build their eco system which will take them a few years. However, there are lot of other exciting things to do in and around CT with the kids. Its not the best place to see the big five and Aquilla in that area is probably your best bet. Visit Spier wine farm and cheetah park and even horse riding. This is in Stellenbosch (the university town). This place has a permanent market thats small but nice. Can even consider staying at Spier for a night Boulders Beach to see the penguins Table Mountain, Camps Bay, 12 Apostles (can be done in one day) and possibly even Cape of good hope. Thanks annedxb. I can at least cross out Aquila from my list then!

Oh no! So much to do! We still haven't decided how long we're staying, but defintiely more than 5 days. I would love to stay 16 days but I can only imagine how pricey that would be for a family of 5! I might have to rethink my "must" list. Thanks for the suggestions! I would like to do the shark cage diving, but maybe I'll save it for another trip when it's just me and the husband.

Appletiser, thank you for the tip. How advance should I book a car rental? 1 month or more? Saharagypsyrose, I can imagine 5 days not being enough. I have table mountain, waterfront, aquarium, ratanga junction, game reserve, fruit picking, hout bay, cape good hope, and flying dutchman on my list of musts. Is there anything else I've forgotten? I will google Amakhala. Thanks.

Are you staying in Cape Town? We drove along the Garden Route from CT to the Bushman Sands' game reserve (next to Shamwari) - it was fantastic but it's a very long drive and if you're short on time it will be difficult to savour the route it as it deserves! Friends who live in South Africa suggested we could have gone to the Garden Route game reserve as it's much closer to CT. Might be worth Googling it if you're staying in CT anyway? Enjoy. It's a beautiful country. Yes we will be staying in Cape Town. I haven't started to look for accomodation yet though. The whole holiday planning thing can be a bit over-whelming. I will Google the Garden Route game reserve Thanks.

This is my first post, hello to all. My husband and I have finally decided on a holiday destination for this year! Cape Town in December! I am so excited. We are a family of 5, children are all under the age of 7. Can any of you ladies please give me some advice regarding game reserves in Cape Town. We are very limited on time, so Kruger National Park is out of the question. I have found Aquila but I would like to have other comparisons as well. Thanks so much.
