Hi susy99 I would say every pharmacy in Doha should carry it, just on the shelf. I have also seen it at Carrefore in the same section as bandages (plasters).

Hi deborahdigby, Welcome to Doha! If you are looking for a book club, I belong to one that meets once a month. For the email address of the head of the book club feel free to email me and I will pass the information along, I just don't want to put up her email address without her consent. TTYL! quick correction for lalala, last time I looked, I lived in Doha, not UAE and the event I describe was on the coastal road between Doha and Al Khor. The judge and police made it very clear it was imprisonment or deportation for crimes against honour.

It happened to my friend who has now left. Her husband's work got a call 3 days after the 'incident' and she had to report to the police station on a Thursday. They told her she had to go to jail for the weekend while they investigated if she couldn't get in front of a judge that day. By going to a different city she went in front of a judge, (her husband was not permitted in the court room) and had to convince the judge she didn't do it, or was sorry, I can't remember which. Frustrating part is she actually didn't even do it, he just accused her as she didn't let him by when he was flashing and honking for her to move. It was very serious and is deportable, so keep your hands on the wheel and the swearing under your breath.

You didn't miss it! Lulu Hypermarket across from Landmark has lots in the department store upstairs. I was there on Saturday and it looked like a good selection if you like pink! Good luck.

For sure, at Future medical clinic, he lived/worked in Canada for 20 years, and was fantastic for sinus and ear problems for my DS. Just ask for the ENT specialist, he starts at 10 am I am told

For susy99, thanks for the shout out, I went there on your good advice and have been there again since. Other than the meat section which looks small, it had everything I was looking for at decent prices. Lucky its on the way to QA to pick up and drop off my DS. Btw, they open at 6 am, and until 11 everyone can go in, after that families only. The sign has no info about Friday though...

momoyum, quick note for you and all others with small children; you may not need a medical for the children, just need to pay 100 qar to put them in the system, but our company insisted on knowing our childs blood type, which that aforementioned 100 qar does not get you. If you don't know the blood type, any medical clinic can do it in 5 minutes for 20 qar or so.

Sands 123, I don't know what brand your freezer is, but when I needed more I contacted the manufacturer and they sent them to me. If you bought the freezer here, then best of luck :)

Congrats Kelbucko! Only 5 weeks! IrnBru, I'm the same as you, arrived 21 October, and still no card in hand, but fingerprinting done, so fingers crossed. Our excuses were "new rule", "Eid", and they misspelled our names, all of our names, and told us to get the RP and then reapply for the name change. I refused to accept that, so that delayed the process. My husband handed in my passport 2 weeks ago, I'm sure just to keep me from leaving!!;)

Hi HEF! We may be able to help. My hubby just arrived, and my 13 year old son and myself are arriving in October. We have had cats for years and love them, but aren't going to have permanent pets for now. It may be a good transition for us and if it helps you and them, then great! We are in a 4 +1 Bedroom villa. They would have to be indoor cats, for us and for you I thin edited by yyzdoh on 26/09/2011

does anybody have any experience with fillers like those injected into deep facial wrinkles? I have heard of a product called Restylane which several ladies in the emirates have used. Hi Beate 2; I don't know of surgeons, and doubt a surgeon is required...maybe a dermatologist... I have used Restylane for s [b'>crevace[/b'> between my eyes a few years ago, and it never came back, so I LOVE it! Good luck finding someone good, and if you do let me know, I will be there in a few months and may need a touchup with all the squinting in the sun : )

Hi Maple: I'm in Cambridge, Ont. heading over in a few weeks, so if you forget something critical let me know and I will grab one for you, and we can meet when I get there. We are north west of Ain Khalid Gates at the pink villas QA compound. Hubby is already there, but this will be my first trip : )

Hi MsShowbiz! They probably already met! My hubby met a bunch of great guys all at the pink villas. If yours is a Captain, I guess he's there too. We found out 24 Hours before he left where he would be, but I couldn't get any info on it. I hope yours is settling in well, and you're handling the stress of the single mom move! At least mine s 13, and heading off to Florida for a vacation before his new life begins. He babysits, by the way. Email me anytime at info at suzannenewton dot com and we can compare notes. We are from Canada, by the way (YYZ).

Steelers43 and Maite: Thank you guys so much for the info! We signed the Offer Letter and were told to expect details when the work permit gets issued. Still waiting, but if the start date is the 28th of August and he leaves a few days before that... I will stay here and sell everything we own including the house and cars! It is hard to know what to pack because I want to bring Christmas decorations and Halloween stuff, craft supplies, and all the nicities we are used to here (non stick tin foil-can you get it there?!?). I sent my husband to a few grocery stores for prices and to get an idea of what supplies were available, but I guess like everyone else we will find out when we get there. I'm just too much of a planner! Hubby toured ISD and we liked it, but will be on the wait list for sure as we only knew we were coming for 3 weeks. And for steelers43, maybe the boys can hang out together while the waitlist clears! And for Maite, I would love pictures! I can't believe what little information I have been able to find. Thank you all so much! It is good to know we will be arriving in such a supportive community. My email is relocate at suzannenewton dot com. Suzanne edited by yyzdoh on 14/08/2011

Hi Maite! Thank you so much for the information. As we don't have the paperwork with details, we will only have a few days with the paperwork before my husband is gone. I don''t even know how to send things with him, or if they should follow him later! Sorry, but I'm not quite up on the terminology yet. What is IMHO? And where is Markhiya located? Is that your friends best housing option with the QA? Are the villas so furnished we need no dishes, storage shelves, dressers, or is there some of that you wish you had brought? Thanks for the info, and I hope to meet you when I get there!
