I recently vacated my apartment after a request from the landlord that his "family" would be moving in (should've known this was suspect....) I should mention the correct 1 year notice period was observed.The apartment has now been leased with a rental increase of 45000 (was 70000 now 11500) surprise surprise! My initial thoughts are to approach the Rental Committee (I am aware that compensation could be sought) however, the contract was never registered with Ejari. Will they still accept my case? Any thoughts, advice, experience would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi Laura, no not as yet unfortunately. Hoping there will be one soon, there seems to be alot of us up this way.... I have been going along to the MOE meeting via the metro in the meantime.
