@Kaha : We are releasing our Nanny so let me know if you are interested. I have placed an ad for her in the classified section as well. Briefly, she is from Ghana (Africa) and is a decent worker- cleaning, cooking ( good) and baby care. We are helping her look for an alternate job. She is on cancelled visa

Just back from Barracuda...was pretty scary as the cops were stationed at the first roundabout on the way to Dubai and were stopping each and every car ! They let us go after peeping into our car ....but it was the most scary few seconds of my life !! Really dont know what they were looking for ...a few cars were asked to step aside..all in all a very scary experience !

Thank you All for your views :-) Very thought provoking views. At present my son will start in FS2 but we would like him to be in a school which has secondary school option available. If I can ask another question- just for the sake of comparison (if that's possible) - how would you rank in order or preference the following : Wellington, EIS Jumeirah & DIA. Would really appreciate all views ...thnx :-)

The deal is similar w.r.t the MAID's salary etc. But they charge 6500 AED one time after the maid comes into the country. We need to do visa but tickets they will do. They give replacement free of charge within 3 months. All visa expenses to be borne by us !

You can hire a nepali maid. The only problem is that the Nepali maid should be able to leave their country !!! There is a ban on women working as housemaids in Nepal. To come legally, they must have their passports stamped by the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Affairs in Nepal. Mostly they shell out 20-25 k (nepali rupees) to be able to board the flight from Kathmandu. I had a Nepali maid for 1.25 years. Had to send her back as I found her hitting my child !!!!! But have many friends who are very Happy with their Nepali maids, so dont worry :-) Hope it works out for you :-)

Thanks everyone :-) Would anyone be able to shed some light on academic abilities of DIA & Wellington ? I have heard that kids at Wellington are not pushed very hard and they tend to give tons of homework ? Is that true ??
