Insta brows should be illegal!

In 2011, Cara Delevingne took the fashion and beauty industry by storm. She walked for every renowned runway that you can think of, won major modelling awards and instantly became a household name.

Her biggest trademark? She bought full, bushy eyebrows back. Suddenly everyone wanted thick bushy brows like Cara, as shown below.

However, with the popularity of Instagram and 'beauty gurus', the concept of thick, full brows gained traction and became something completely different. This is what we would like to call 'Instagram brows'. Instagram brows are ombre brows that are light at the beginning and HEAVILY filled in towards the end. They might look like works of art on Instagram, but IRL they look downright comical.

Some Instagram-brow specimens are below.

Here's the thing - your brows LITERALLY frame the shape of your face. Your brows can make you look younger/older/crazy depending on what you make of them. Instagram brows are so boxy and angular (not to mention fake) that they end up making you look old and harsh.

The key with eyebrows is to make them look strong, soft and full, not harsh and boxy. If the Instagram-brow floats your boat, then by all means, stick to it. However, if you are looking to opt for a more natural (yet strong) brow game, here's some inspiration.
