how to do winged eyeliner

Winged eyeliner is a classic makeup look that never goes out of style. Achieve the perfect winged liner with 6 simple steps:

1.Choose the right eyeliner

Felt tip liners and gel liners are great to create the perfect winged as they are sharp and precise as opposed to pencils that tend to smudge easily.

2. Use the triangle method

The easiest and most fool-proof way to create the perfect winged liner is to use the triangle method. You can start off by applying eyeliner how you normally would if you weren’t attempting to create a wing. Then, draw a triangular shape at the edge of your eyelid, with the tip of the triangle pointing toward the edge of your eyebrow. Once you complete the shape, fill in the gap. Voila! Perfect winged eyeliner.

3. If you are a complete beginner, use Scotch tape

Take a piece of scotch tape and place it under your lower lash line pointing diagonally towards your brow; do the same for the other eye. Then simply use the tape as a guide to create the perfect wing.

4. Make sure your eyeliner is even

This is something many people struggle with. A simple trick is to hold any makeup brush up to your face and point it toward the edge of your eyebrow. Once you find the angle, gently draw a thin pencilled line in place of the brush to serve as a guideline. Then, draw over the line with your liquid or gel liner.

5. Don’t worry if you mess up

Dip a cotton swab in makeup remover and wipe off your mistakes. Using a swab will make sure you only erase what you want to.

6. Use powder to set

Dip an angled eyeliner brush in black eyeshadow and apply it over your liner. This will lock your liner and make sure it stays in place all day.
