Snoopy, I was also stressed with baby number one and my milk didnt come for a bit, I think couple of days. Once I got home and relaxed it was all good. I used the nipple shields, but my midwife kept assuring me that so long there was colostrum it is fine - teaspoon full is all baby needs for first few days, every couple of hours. Dont let the staff stress you and good luck!

Hi, tricky situation. He could try and talk to HR in his current job, you never know, he could strike a deal. You have 90 days to register the baby, so as long as his new work is aware of this and will accept payment if need be you should all be fine.

I bought the moses basket and baby cot all from dubizzle for my first baby. The cot lasted a long time she slept in it till 2 years and gave us time to save up for a real girls big bed. Also you can find real good find on dubizzle. I found the baby bjorn really great for shopping with little baby and also my lil girl loved sleeping bags instead of any blankets. Good luck.

I called the hospital, they gave me a mobile number to a lady whom I called and she told me she was at meeting and busy, however called me back like in 5 minutes which never happens to me. Anyway, wait and see for tomorrow. Week 37.5 second baby and I am check in out a hospital. ahhhh.

Emanuala, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a wonderful experience at City, I am sure it will be fine for me. @ fullofdreams, dont stress about your labour, you are going to do great, just trust yourself! Vit K I made a typo before, can be injected or taken orally, I thought of the LO stress of coming out to this world is really quite an journey so decided that I would prefer if they are not injected or poked or probed unnecessarily. I remember with my first one, totally freaking out when they gave her injections, I cried more than them. So do you research and follow your instinct and talk to as many moms as you can. Good luck>xx

Although I love G.ford sleeping book I felt like the potty training book was too much. I think i only did like a fun song when my LO went to pee in the potty, she loved the song and than I rewarded her with smarties, when we made it to the potty. 1 for pee and 2 for poo. It took her 2 days to get it. I have found that the traveling potty from mothercare was the best purchase I ever made. Potty was in our car, took it to outings, it was a life saver and money well spent. Also recently when traveling on plane, the bathrooms at the airport were packed there was a huge line, in all toilets and my 2.5 yr old would not be able to stay in line for 20 mins so thankfully had my travel potty, went to the bathroom in the corner and she did her business. Also gina ford calls potty trained child a child that goes to the bathroom by itself, takes their cloths off, wipes and washes their hands and which under 2 child can do that? Good luck!

All banks are so greedy. changing from EBOR just to make money. http://www.arabianbusiness.com/emirates-nbd-set-abandon-eibor-lending-rate-308151.html The person I talked to was from home matters, they have a flyers in Meadows town center at one of the real estate stand. Their rates are linked to EBOR. I will call them again and get more info. If worse come to worse, we are thinking of selling the place and take our losses and never invest again in UAE!

Hi, we only flew to the states when our LO was 8months. however than we drove from NYC down to like Baltimore in one trip and to be honest the trip was a drag. LO wouldn't sleep on the plane there, we had to walk the isles with her, I think I was more exhausted than LO was!!! It took us more than a week to be on normal sleeping schedule. This was for a wedding too but family wedding. 10month old would be a little more difficult if they are crawling? and only for 7 days, that's tough.I don't envy your decision...

Thank you GattaMatta. @fullofdreams i feel I am more prepared for the 2nd birth than my first. I have delivered in Medcare 3 yrs ago and looking back I know they have mismanaged me, had to be cut twice (normal birth), sown me up bad, next day after delivery my ex-ob-gyn said I had blood clot and went in without any anesthesia, it was the most painful experience in my life, far exceeding the labour pains. Ahhhh I just hate it and I am so thankful for my beautiful child but wouldnt go back there for anything. now my doctor is nice, she listens to me, spends time with me, cares for me.... So my main questions to her were: Do you do episiotomy frequently?, do not cut the cord from placenta to baby until it stops pulsating (important as in placenta there is a lot of blood that belongs to baby and docs clamped the cord and cut it almost right away which they should not, do research). Ask her to give you baby right away after birth, unless there is something wrong, you should have the bonding time with your baby. I have asked my baby to be given to me with a blanket right on my chest so that baby can start looking for breast or just generally be with you. They can clean and weight later on. Ask the doctor what he/she will be doing during labour for you? If you do not want any drugs etc. Watch u-tube on natural labour, borrow books, go see midwifes and discuss. I know many friends whom have natural labour and were so happy. Good luck and we may see each other in the hospital>;)

OMG Nutty, that's so high. Did you buy a villa? what year? Did you talk to the bank (as we are about to do) or did the math and decide to move to another place? Yeah remortgaging just don't work if the house value is underwater, but guys from Mortgage house told us if we were from uk and owned prop there we could transfer the mortgage to there and pay much lower rates. But we are not from uk. Our villa is in Emirates living if we were to rent it out, we would still not cover the mortgage but I am going to look into it as a possibility.Thank you nutty.

Hi Pomegranate, so stressful. We thought of renting too, but that's not an option as we would still have to fork out over 100K into the mortgage a year. It just feels that buying this house was the most stupid thing we have ever done.

Hello, I am going to have my delivery in City Hospital early next year. I wanted to ask you how did it go for you? This is my 2nd baby, so I have a specific list of things I would like and would not like. I have talked it over with my doctor whom I was so pleased, agreed to almost everything. How is the baby care in City Hospital. Has anybody opted for VIT K orally for the baby? I also don't want to vaccinate my child right away and want to wait till a little later, anyone had a problem with that?

Mamas and Papas have one so do Mothercare. If you go to Mamas and Papas outlet mall they have some there for way cheaper than normal mall. just measure your width of cot.

I would choose the old one royal mirage, I love that place for its privacy, service, food and location. the spa there is fabulous. The Palm O&O is little harder to reach and been open not too long so the gardens are not as lush there in my opinion. The palm one is also smaller (only 90 rooms or so). Royal mirage has a bit more choice of restaurants and bars. depends what you look for. The service is fantastic in both. Whatever you choose, relax and enjoy every minute, it will be truly amazing!

I am a dryer user. I admit to it. I don't have to do ironing after it just fold it and i like that is all soft. Our DEWA bill for water and electricity is pretty low, in fact we pay more for the housing fee than electricity and water combined. I know that drying on rack is very good for environment but my cloths dont wear out, we are a family of 3 and i feel that it cleans everything. i am yet to find a cloths with holes, or cloths that just deteriorate. I send our sheets out to laundry as I cant ever get them dry here and i like them ironed and i dont iron.

Thank you so much Cornish, we were lucky with our first one I guess, now the second one is not so easy. I fell pregnant right away each time and each time ended in miscarage. Glad to know that it is done in shorter time. American hospital I heard did the same. Just Medcare I was admitted at night at 10pm and from 5 am went no water and food till 1pm when I was scheduled to go in but because emergency c'sections I had to wait till close to 3. I was so out of it with hunger and thirst it was like torture...plus the procedure. I just dont know if I cant get my way in Medcare do I go to another hospital and wait? Take care and have a wonderful day and thank you for your post.

my laptop has recently packed up and after searching for a company i found laptoprepairs . they are based in bur dubai but will arrange a collection if you dont have time to go there, inspect your laptop and call you and inform you what it wrong with it, how much it will cost etc. then they fix it and send it back to you. they are really great. also for the work they give you warranty. they were so professional, i would recommend them for sure. good luck.x
