Finally braving it out to Dragonmart this weekend to see what everyone talks about. Any places that you ladies recommend? The weekend is the worst time to go unfortunately as everything is on weekend prices ur better of going during the weekday or weekday evening Dragon mall can be a hit n miss sometimes u find nothing but bargain basement tack and sometimes u can pick up nice stuff.Go with an open mind to browse rather than a target shop list for ur first trip .

Lulu always seem to have Kingsmill loaves - in the fridge near the bakery. If anyone sees potato cakes let me know - mmmm toasted and buttered, miss those! WHICH LULU? Im being so fanatical about bread dont know whats wrong with me !

we stopped over last night (fria) on the way back from Oman visa run,maybe we choose the wrong restaurant .We opted pool side for the Gazebo .Looked elegant and with great view from outside however once inside was different story ! - it looks like a 1980's movie set with really bad decor ! Has those brass cycles filled with autumn leaf type stuff all over the place and plants that where scraggly .The staff was friendly the main course -steak n pasta where OK . The dessert was yuk semi frozen cake and the cream had split so we sent it back and the waiter informed us it most probably hadnt been defrosted properly :) Washrooms where not great either rather grubby n unclean. Are the other restaurants better ? Am certainly not encouraged to make a special trip down to the Hotel again,big disappointment. Did we just go on a bad day or is this how it is ?

Sega, I'm growing to love LuLu lol, especially after discovering Kingsmill bread :) Oh but for some bacon to pop in between the slices! Ohhh WHICH Lulu i need Kingsmill :\: my mum bought me some over which I froze but am down to my last loaf! Is it only available on certain days? gona keep refreshing page cant wait for the answer ;) You can get cottage cheese( even though extortionately priced) its available @ Waitrose in Dubai Mall, Spinneys best brand is the once we get bk home Country Vale.

THANK YOU all for your words of wisdom as otherwise else I would have sat n cried my eyes out or stabbed someone (no prizes for who would be the pin cushion ;) ) I was on my best behaviour made sure that I didn't leave any stone unturned in order to make their trip comfortable and enjoyable.Not for their sake but rather as I dint want to let myself down or on my conscious that I was at fault. @ airport MIL and FIL declare that they thought I was the best thing that could have happened to their son and their stay was impeccable.Also all my friends n family had been so loving - Now I could have let them go just like that but then I became like a woman obsessed ! I made my likkle Oscar speech short n sweet which was something on the lines of my acquaintances where nice bec I had presented my in-laws in a positive manner had i bitched about them to all those people they would have treated them accordingly. MIL was like 100% I agree so then I said it - I told her next time you want to gossip about me do it in your own house where am not present.This is my house and irrelevant off the circumstances its unacceptable to behave in that manner towards anyone .I also informed her that the lady u gossiped to also called me (which she did as we had invited her for brunch) and said that your MIL tells everyone ur hospitable ,loving,caring,respectful and has lovely face but then she spoils it all by saying 'shes a little fat but what can we do u cant get everything'. MIL was shocked n stunned left speechless for once. I told her forget it we all make mistakes and we should learn by it and move on . DH said Lets not repeat the mistakes either ! On our way back home DH was like u did good and I agree ;);)

Let it be and move on ..not only 'getting back' at your mother in law won't solve the issue but it will escalate it. Chances then are that you and everybody else will get even more hurt in the process. 1. I read countless of times, in this very forum, how 'insensitive' people from specific countries are with regard to weight. It seems to me that weight issue is a western problem and people from said countries don't seem to understand it. Is your mother in law from any of those countries? 2. Your mother in laws said many nice things about you: "very nice personality , very respectful n hospitable", Wow, think about that instead. She seems to be very pleased with you. and btw, were you eavesdropping? cross my heart wasnt eavesdropping -she said it in a loud whisper I was supposed to hear I think !

I need to buy just sleeves, but I couldn't find such thing in Dubai can anybody recommend any place that sells them in Dubai? They have lots of them upstairs in Kabayal Center - the type that u can wear to convert t shirts and vest tops to appear to have sleeves

Many many thanks :) if can be all attested here in Dubai then not an issue. I have had the visit visa extended myself on a number of occasions however this time DH decided to get it done through work which wasn't all that efficient .

I am UK national ,husband has a work visa in Dubai.Last year i travelled bk n forth to the UK so was never in Dubai for more than 40days .Now wld like to have a more stable lifestyle therefore now that DH has a new job am totally confused about the spouse visa requirements .Please help ! I have with me our original Marriage certificate from the Register's office, our Islamic Marriage certificate and a photocopy of my birth certificate. DH gave his employer my passport to extend visit visa- this was to expire on 30th dec , papers submitted on 28th dec .We got a email from HR dept that as my initial visa expired cant be renewed! IT HAD NOT EXPIRED ON THE DATE OF SUBMISSION! If I now want to go for a spouse visa what do I need to do ? The HR dept are saying i need to go back to the UK and get the marriage certificates attested/translated from there ,which seems odd cant I get them done here whilst am in Dubai? :\: totally confused why something which should be relatively simple is over complicated !
