@ alowicious_28: Oh my god 17,000! We just wouldn't be able to pay! I have my fingers crossed this doesn't happen to us - my husband would have a heart attack if he read this forum!!! Thanks for the tips - good to know about the roof drainage outlets too. And how funny about your neighbours when you were here!! ha ha! @Ange74 - I really feel for you - it sounds like you have been incredibly unlucky :( We are in district 4 and yes there had been previous tenants and we were given a copy of their last bill which was around 1500. Are you definitely moving out of yours? Its such a shame as it is perfect for pets. Are you considering moving to a different one if you can check the past bills?

Hi, I've been in a 2 bed Arabic style villa for 2 months now and am amazed at some of the Dewa bills and problems i'm reading about. (And slightly scared!!) We were expecting our first dewa bill to be high due to the amount of water used to water the garden (we have a lot of grass and the gardener waters it twice a day). However, the first bill that came through was 2000 and only 400 of that was the water! We had a leak in the maids room AC and when the guys came to fix it, they told us that there is a unit in the maids room that doesn't need to be kept on all the time which uses up a lot of electricity. I don't exactly understand what this unit is for but they showed my husband how to turn it off. Apparently it chills to 5 degrees and had formed an ice block which caused the leak. They advised us to have it on for maybe an hour a day if possible and this should bring the electricity cost down. So we'll see! Otherwise, we've had no problems with the water and I was impressed that it only cost 400 to water such a huge garden twice a day. I guess it does seem to be luck of the draw! We saw the previous tenants Dewa bill too so I guess that is the best advice. The AC works perfectly and we have a lot of them switched off (even in the summer) and we love the villa and the layout. We've also had no issues with toilets flushing or running out of water in the bathrooms when the garden is watered. And the kitchen cupboards are better than some I've seen in Dubai! It's easy to get to the Springs so no facilities doesn't bother us. It just depends what you're looking for. We also looked at townhouses that were available so I guess the agent is lying to you lucky4uitsme!!

Ha ha ha! So funny!! I'm glad it's not just me, I've been seriously dappy and forgetful at work! My good news is that I had my scan on Tuesday and everything looks healthy! I was so relieved to see the little thing bouncing around! He / she wouldn't stop spinning though so couldn't get a decent pic!! @Amy - I'm feeling very homesick at the moment too. I was thinking of starting a prenatal pilates or yoga class. I was looking at the Zen Yoga place in Media City. They prefer you not to start until you're out of the first trimester though unless you have a letter from your doctor giving you permission! :)

Hi everyone, congrats on the scans this week! I'm very jealous kts! My hubby won't let us find out at this one if they can tell! I can't wait to know! Scan is on Tuesday anyway so just have my fingers crossed that everything is ok. Congrats CapeChick too - you should def join us - lots of us due towards the end of December anyway! Can't really help on telling the manager as mine is freaky and dragged me into a meeting room when I was only 7 weeks because he had guessed!! really don't know how! But he is just very happy for me. (I've only been there for 7 months!) I would wait until after your scan and just make sure you tell him before he could hear it from someone else. Does he have kids himself? Don't worry about it too much though. He'll just have to deal with it! Just sent you an email mrsjbr :)

Hopefully it will all stop soon anyway but apparently you can try taking ginger supplements if you can't stand ginger - could be worth a try too! :)

I've probably completely jinxed myself regarding the morning sickness too! I was really bad last night but prefer that to during the day at work. Still eating really boring plain food but I think I'm just learning to manage it better - yours does sound a lot worse kts. It's so miserable :( I know it sounds disgusting but a lady I know who had it so bad that she had to go to hospital every morning to go on a drip for an hour told me to try drinking a small glass of milk when you wake up in the morning. It also helps to eat before you get up so I make hubby bring me milk and a piece of toast in bed and the days I have that I'm loads better. (Just hold your nose while you drink the milk!) I think its ok to buy a couple of things once you're 12 weeks mrsjbr! That's what I'm waiting for :) And my mum has already been looking at knitting patterns!! I was like, erm, seriously, you can knit?!?! I think it must be an ability that is acquired automatically on hearing that you are going to be a grandma!! lol!

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. My MS has definitely improved now (just coming to the end of week 10 so very relieved!) Great news on the heart beat scan Mover! Thanks for the info DC Diva - unfortunately looks like my insurance doesn't cover that clinic either - damn insurance companies! I had the same issue with Dr Natalya as well that she only delivers at Medcare. I've been told either City or American for delivery but again, my insurance doesn't cover American! I've decided to pay the extra for the NT scan to see Dr Natalya and then just see the gynacologist at my GPs for the next couple until I get my appointment with Dr Elsa. Sooo complicated!! :) I know Dr Raj is very good at American though. I saw her for some other issues and a colposcopy a couple of years ago and I know she has a good reputation for deliveries too. Does it feel more official now that you've told everyone mrsjbr? Very exciting! :)

Great website mrsjbr - thank you! :) I feel the same kts - my scan isn't actually until 13th June and I would rather wait until after that to be honest. Which Doctors are you all seeing? I went to Dr Natalya at Cooper's Clinic for my first scan who was great but they aren't linked to any insurance companies so no direct billing and my insurace will only cover 80% so I think I'm going to change. I'm actually on Dr Elsa at City's waiting list for Sept who I've heard amazing things about so probably just need someone for the next 3 scans if anyone has any recommendations?

So nice to have people to chat to! Can't wait for this 'honeymoon trimester'!! I've been feeling really sick all day since week 5, although I'm starting to feel like I'm coping better with it and not spending so much of my work day running to the toilets! I also definitely don't have a glow - quite the opposite I'd say! LOL!

Laura: Typical that with a due date like that they come on time! ha ha! I can't believe I've done this either as one of my best friends is a boxing day baby and has always moaned about it! I'll just keep my fingers crossed that it will be early so I'm not in labour on Christmas day! Congrats on number 2! :) Polar02: I thought the same but couldn't wait either! Especially as I haven't told many people yet - it's such a long time to keep it in!! Too exciting! Glad there's someone else due at Christmas!! :)
