The Old Library is fantastic! I rave about it to everyone I meet. Yes, it's small and not the best-stocked library in the world but it provided with us enough good (primarily fiction) reads for a year. They regularly update their collection and have little notebooks you can leave requests in (which they take seriously - I got a call when I book I suggested came in!). I volunteered there myself briefly and enjoyed every minute. Honestly, I found everyone there so lovely! I take my DD to the story-readings regularly and everyone is incredibly patient with the toddler madness that sometimes results (every Sunday at 10.30 am but you need to be a member and register in advance). Membership is AED 250 for a year. AED 200 to renew. We are leaving Dubai soon and the Old Library will be much missed!

I figured I'd post in this thread instead of starting another! I am growing out chemically straightened hair and it's a mess. Got a haircut by Toni and Guy in February which looked great in the salon (thanks to the blow-dry!) but was a total nightmare afterwards. I want to get a nice haircut before heading home for the summer. Anyone else been in this situation and can recommend someone? Bardophile - glad your haircut was to your liking! If you don't mind my asking, how much did Kylie charge? Thanks!

yesterday. Thanks for the tip Crystil. Never thought of doing the stuffing as a side. I balked when they led me to the turkey breast this morning thinking, I bought everything from chestnut stuffing to star anise for this! No way! Rumour - ha ha! We had roast turkey at a friend's for xmas but I've never done one myself. Excited! :0) Sorry my message is in two parts....and yes you guessed. DD pressed enter. Sigh!
