Hi Frazzled, I have 2 never used pool chairs that are currently in my pile of stuff to be sold at this weekend's flea market! From memory, I think I paid AED 300 for the pair. Happy to offload them before this if you are interested?

Agree with desertprincess, would be very interested to hear how you get on amandashaks! Jenc123, the service itself was faultless, it was only at the end when it came to talking cash, was there an issue! I agree about being careful with voucher deals and generally I am very selective about what ones I buy. However, Atlanta Vision are a well-known name in Dubai for laser eye surgery and I had only read good reviews about them before purchasing the deal. I certainly don't want to take any chances with my eyes! As you say, I just can't help the feeling that they are trying to recoup the cash....

OH just got his 10 days ago and it took almost 6 weeks. Cue major stress with pre-booked flights back to the UK and a major family celebration...which he made with 30 mins to spare! Application was sent away middle of March and new passport arrived on 26th April and old passport 2 days later. The 4 weeks they quote is from the time payment is taken but that can take up to 2 weeks from the application being received. The Embassy can issue you with an emergency travel document....but it's not much use as in turn, they cancel your residence visa! HTH

Hi Claire08, I'm going through the exact same procedure at the moment! My previous 2 employers never required my degree certificates to be attested but my new one does so have also been looking up the procedure this week so very grateful for your post! From what I can see, there are 3 stages - 1) it needs to be notarised (by British Council or Notary Public) 2) then goes to Foreign & Commonwealth Office in Milton Keynes for legalistion and then 3) to UAE Embassy in London - thats my understanding! I am actually a Notary Public and just wanted to offer my services to you for the first part of the process - will save you either going to British Council or trying to find a solicitor in the UK, and of course, saves you a bit of money! Let me know if you want me to notarise it. edited by nickyschick on 29/11/2011

thanks ladies! Checked out a few websites that claim to be wholesalers and got a rough idea of their prices so I'll pass on to him so he roughly knows what he should be paying! If anyone else has any recommendations, would be greatly appreciated! @lucky4uitsme - when & how are completely unknown to me but after waiting a VERY long time for this, I've had alot of time to decide on my dream ring! On the basis that I have talked of nothing else for over a decade, think he realised it was best to make sure I got what I wanted! :D

Oh Oh :( My worst fears are being realised! Thanks for the responses ladies - sorry to hear that I'm not the only with the same terrible experience of them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they pop up elsewhere. If anyone else has any information on them going bust or moving offices, I'd appreciate it if you could advise. Thanks

Thanks for replies! I emailed them and accepted the offer and gave a dodgy excuse that I can't confirm start date until after Eid break! However they now want me to attend at their offices tomorrow "to sign the contract and discuss the joining date and visa/medical formalities" Not quite sure what to do now as I dont fancy signing a contract that I may well renage on...didnt mind as much when it was just an email I was renaging on! I had to give them copies of my passport & visa as part of the interview process but they dont have any official documents from me. Should I sign the contract if I intend to decline at a later stage?

Hi WaxMuch I flew DXB-LHR with BA last week and just returned to DXB this morning from LHR (*insert yawning smiley*!!) Both flights were on a 777 and to be honest, the in-flight entertainment was pretty shocking! My screen on the way to Heathrow was black & white, the films started about 40 mins into the flight (no announcement to advise starting) and all films ran at the same time so you couldnt pick yourself when you wanted to start watching! Also if you missed it starting, you couldnt just rewind and start again as there was no remote control, just the channel/volume buttons on your armrest. This meant you had to wait for the next lot of films to start 2-3 hours later! I ended up sitting listening to my ipod for 3/4 of the journey as there was nothing else to do. On the way back this morning, the entertainment system was the exact same but was at least in colour this time! Hope this helps you decide!

[i'>nat123 replied : I used to go to David's Salon near Bur Juman. Haven't gone there since Jade left though, not sure about any of the other stylists, but the salon comes recommended by EW.[/i'> PLEASE do not go to Davids Salon! I recently started working near Burjuman so decided to try Davids for highlights following the recommendations on EW - HUGE mistake! The hairdresser firstly ignored my request for a half head and gave me a full head and then proceeded to rub pure peroxide into my roots! Not surprising my naturally brown roots turned orange. Went back to have it corrected and after 1st colour they were still orange so another colour was out in my hair which turned my entire head of hair yellow! First time in 15 years of getting my hair coloured that Ive walked out of a salon in tears. Have been going to Yvonne @ Hairworks JBR ever since to try and sort the mess out! She is fab and hair is finally starting to look back to normal after 7 long weeks of weekly visits!! Moral of the story - DO NOT GO TO DAVIDS! edited by nickyschick on 14/07/2011 edited by nickyschick on 14/07/2011
