Airbnb - it's less than hotels but there's not a huge amount available this time of year.

I'm looking for the same. Delivery of Christmas dinner, including trimmings. Guld News had a good article from last year (top 10 turkey takeaways) but I don't know if it still is applicable.

Hello LadyJo, I REALLY appreciate your reply and all the tips. Someone suggested I make it myself, but really I am a disaster when it comes to these things - it would end up looking like a dog's dinner!! Love the other tips though :)

Thank you all. I've tried Flavours many, many times, was hoping for something new so the other suggestions may be right up my street :)

Thanks guys, very helpful. We're flying in Thurs morn and out Sun afternoon, the plan is to go from Amman to Dead Sea (was told it would take an hour!) and stay there overnight then onto Petra, stay there Fri and explore on Sat - and either head back on Sat eve or Sun morn...

You should contact the H, they do afternoon tea with alcohol - very reasonably, about 200 each I think it was....

Hello, I did a search on this but maybe wasn't looking correctly. Can anyone recommend a grief support group here in Dubai? Particularly for spouses? Thanks.

Can definitely recommend it. Great place for children (well indoors now!) and families. The food is lovely and reasonably priced.

They normally provide artist timings on the FB and website about a week before the event. If you ask on the FB now, they are likely to give you the answer. I imagine that everyone will be trying to get there around the same time so taxi queues on the Palm will be chronic....

WB72, yes they were married. It's not as clear cut as her leaving and breaking his heart though. No kids.

I honestly don't feel right putting all the details out there into the world, I think he would be mortified if he realized I was asking anyone! I am trying to let it take it's course, but I don't feel he's there yet. He seems so genuine, I've seen him be mortally surprised by how "easy" some girls are, and how upfront they can be about getting what they want - in front of me sometimes!! I know he's had a period of sleeping around, because he's told me, but he says that's not really him. Beebers - I agree, it took me a long time to get over one shortish relationship, and another that lasted a few years just kind of phased out of me.... I appreciate your advice ladies. I don't know who to talk to about this, and it's a tricky one to handle. I sometimes wonder if he'll ever be over her, and whether I should just walk away.

Go to Facebook, and your "Settings" Should be on right hand side at top of your page. There you can access all your various settings and uncheck the email notification....or when you receive an email, there is an option within the email to unsubscribe from notifications. If you"unfriend" someone, it does not tell them, but if they go to your page they will see "add as a friend".... Hope this helps.

I think all types of love are different Hansten, in my experience the ones that hit me like a bombshell were like a train coming off the tracks later down the line. The ones that grow with time tend to last. Look how many arranged marriages there are, and lots of people are happy in arranged marriages. I also think that sometimes when you're waiting for the bombshell you don't notice what's right in front of you. However, like some of the ladies said - it definitely depends on the kind of person you are. I would probably take a chance and throw caution to the wind; you never know how fulfilling it might be.

I'm gonna give my tuppence for whatever it's worth. The time to discuss things openly is WHEN you're in a relationship. He may be a great guy but they do tend to run for the hills when you have a "TALK" with them early on...I've found it's not worth it. The "Not available" thing does work, guys like mystery and if you're available all the time then you're a known quantity for him. I wish you well.

The organizers had actually approached the government when this was being booked a few months ago and were told no, the dry night would be Saturday night and that the Fri night was definitely not dry. Bit unfair I thought. Anyway, I'm still going to go. I probably won't spend as much given that it's a school night :)

Carol2012, you don't necessarily have to work in that free zone to gain a license from them. Virtuzone is the main one of these, I find their customer service appalling actually (!) but needs must and all that. RAK have a free trade zone now as well, think it operates much like Virtuzone. I am going to investigate it.

Ginee, you poor thing, sounds like its a bit of a tough time. I've had sleep problems for a few years, sometimes worse than others, and it literally can drive you to distraction. I was on prescription meds for it for a time, but I now use Valerian Root, you can get it in all good chemists and I'm pretty sure even some of the supermarkets - Spinneys etc. One doesn't work for me, but two usually do the trick after about half a hour.... Hope this helps.

Lots of rain memories... Nov 2004 there was a massive storm, Rain came on suddenly with thunder and lightning and then balls of ice were coming down smashing windscreens (that was in Garhoud anyway) had to wade home knee deep in water.... The year the Sevens got rained out was at the old grounds in 2006, that was pretty mad..., Mar 2009 was dreadful though, cars floating, massive storms every night, don't think it stopped raining for a week....and I had friends over!

The original pet sitting people here in Dubai were homely pets. They worked really hard to get the business to where it is, are really strict about who they employ and keep them well trained and informed. Fair enough new companies are popping up, but I think they are taking advantage of someone else's business plan. Anyhow, I would recommend Homely Petz...

How can you say her voice is "not bad"? She's amazing! She really gave it socks in her performance, and I think Marcus is so bland, also his song for survival was flat throughout (I mean in key, not in energy). The over dramatics made for amazing tv hahaha. I agree though, Nicole did NOT do her job, I've liked her until now, but she's there to judge and make her decision. Did you see Simon's face? It was like thunder. Bad, bad decision Nicole....

I've always had to get insurance at the border anytime I've done it (in a rental car) from 7 years ago to 3 years ago. I've to do one this week too and don't want to go alone, would be happy to share and share costs.....

Simpsons - Did they actually quote you as "per cbm" because usually it's not as straightforward as that, for instance if you send 2cbm it may be very close in cost to 4cbm, as the volume gets higher certain costs within the price come down....it is always in the shipping companies favour to have more volume, as they get better rates and some of that is passed onto the customer. So if you're being charged AED 2, 800 for 2cbm I would say that is pretty good, but if you're being charged AED 8, 400 for 6cbm you can probably get a better rate.

Just as an aside LCL(less than container load) does not mean you have to wait til they feel a container - that's actually groupage. Less than container load means they build a crate in which all your goods go, and send it wthout a container. It would obviously cost less than a container but is not really cost effective, groupage is the better option but isn't available to everywhere due to the long waiting times. The only places where gorupage is effective to and you don't wait for months is the UK, sometimes Australia, it also depends on the copany you use, a bigger company will be able to fill a container far quicker than the smaller ones, as they simply do more business. LCL is only available for quite small shipments (under 10cubic metres).

I've been told that wooden furniture is more expensive in Canada, so it probably depends what you have. Taking a container will cost upwards of 20, 000Dhs so it depends what your budget is too.
