Thanks Gladys that's really helpful. I have been to Emaar for the NOC's that I have mislaid and they are working on it along with the BCC (again I moved in 8 years ago and still don't have it!). Unfortunately I don't have a title deed either which is proving to be the most pressing issue - don't even get me started on that one! I am avoiding the visits from the rather aggressive guy at the municipality at the moment until my DH is here so he can deal with it too with me. Either way I can see this all costing me a small fortune for nothing :-(

Hi Gladys, I've just had an unexpected visit today and they are coming back tomorrow to inspect my property. Who knows why they have decided to pick on me now and we are in the same position as you - I have a pool installed by the previous owners. We bought the house 8 years ago and nothing until now! What happened in your situation please as I feel a bit lost. I have contacted the developer who no doubt will be no use!

My darling husband has decided he wants one for Xmas - nice challenge. I have no idea if it is legal to ship one here or if it would get hauled up in customs. I have looked online and rung all the major sports shops but they all go blank as if they don't know what one is. If anyone has any idea please let me know :-)

I talked to a Dr about it once whose attitude was it's a mad thing to do and what are you going to do at 35,000 feet when the child has a bad reaction to it. IMO not worth messing with and just go through the pain :-)

Hi, My 2 children went there for almost 2 years and it was brilliant when it was run by Ellen, the previous headmistress. Unfortunately, the owners then decided to get more involved and it all went wrong. They had some really bizarre ideas and a lot of people left. It was such a shame as the place had been lovely and the staff were all wonderful and my children were very happy there. I would be interested in your feedback as I hope the place has sorted itself out now as the staff deserved for it to be successful. I moved my children to Blossom Village and have been really really happy there so glad I made the move.

Hi, my maid is looking for a new role as we no longer need her. She is trustworthy, honest and reliable and is used to working with older and younger children/babies. She has 4 sons of her own in the Phillipines. She can cook, follow a recipe and is used to cooking British food for us and Annabel Karmel recipes for the children. Her other duties include ironing, housework and feeding the animals (cats and dogs). We no longer need her from the middle of August and she would require a live-in role in Arabian Ranches and a visa. I am keen to find her a nice home so please let me know if you are interested. I have to say that my kids loved it. We went to the one in Festival city last year and when we found out it was on again we took the kids back. They get scared but want to keep going back to look again and find it really funny. It is expensive but we were in there about 45 minutes today and for older kids it really is quite educational if you take the time to explain it all to them. Well worth it in my opinion!

Whilst web sites are great and can be cheaper in some cases they are also completely unhelpful in case of emergency. When we got stuck with our kids when we were away last year trying to get back was a nightmare calling a number on a website that did not work. I'll never book online again! I have used Dnata a few times since and always very good - we have done Maldives, Mauritius and Oman with them.
