Hello. If ur not having a maid will u be hiring a cleaning company or doing it yourself? The reason I ask is we are with Exiles and they offer a babysitting service. Not sure if they do just babysitting though. Also, what area are you in as I think they only cover off the island. Hope this helps a bit!

Hello. I would love to hear your stories over a pint! Am yet to find someone that likes a pint lol! I've been here 7 weeks and live in Golf Gardens. I have a 5,3 and 2 yr old and go to a few different playgroups. There's one at Al Raha (Gardens Plaza) on Mondays 10.15-12.00 which is good. I also meet up with a few girls for coffee regularly and they are lovely, you are more than welcome to join us! If you would like to meet up just say and I'll put my email address on here (and then remove it!) :-)

Hello. All 3 of mine have suffered with eczema and I found the biggest irritant was the wash powder. I ended up using fairy non-bio on all of our clothes as it was easier. Any non-bio will do though! I also had various creams and found I had to swap between them as they'd stop working. I also bathed them and washed them with a special soap that was completely perfume free. They are 5,3 and 2 now and have outgrown it and I can use normal powder. My son (2yrs old now) was also lactose intolerant and on Wysoy for a year until we weaned him onto cows milk. I have been told there is a link between the two and to top it off my son also has asthma and we have been to hospital a few times. Not great but getting better. We have only been here 2 months so I was lucky enough to get cheaper washing powder and free formula back home. It may be worth asking if your medical card covers prescribed formula to maybe save on that cost?!? Hope you get there in the end!!

Hello, I live in Golf Gardens which is lovely. Nice clubhouse and quiet away from the hustle of the city! It's a 15min easy drive to Brighton College which suits us. Al Yasmina and Raha are the closest to us here but had no availabililty when we first started looking. We were just very lucky that the new school had opened just in time for us coming over otherwise I'm not sure where my daughter would be now. I agree with Busybee, find a school and then your accommodation! Where in the world are you coming from? You'll be coming at a good time as it is starting to cool down now-yay!

Hello. Al Raha is off the island whilst BSAK is the opposite direction on the island. It depends where you are living and how far you are willing to travel. There is also BISAD, Al Yasmina and Brighton College (new school opened just on the island) that offer the British curriculum, and a new American school that has opened in Khalifa A. Can't tell you much about the schools as the only one we have experienced is Brighton College (excellent school)!! Do you live here already or are you moving over soon. Hope some of this helps!

Hello. We've been here a month and live in Golf Gardens. Really nice compound and a good clubhouse. My eldest goes to Brighton College just on the island. It's a new school that has just opened but has so far been excellent! Worth a look. Hope you find what you want!

Hello. We arrive on 7th Sept in the morning. I visited my husband about a month ago and felt as though I was melting! So hot! How are you finding it settling in?
