Just received an email from Company stating that the public holiday has been readjusted and falls on saturday. Sunday will be a normal working day. Hmf!! :(

Also, should a south African get paid less than a Brit just because salaries are lower in SA? Or an Egyptian paid less than a Lebanese? I think using the "relativity" argument is an excuse to maintain the status quo. Just because we can doesn't mean we should! Well that is the case here for employees of all levels. Nationality/passport plays a big part in the salary offered. If i were to offer a Brit to come work for me..I'd have to offer him more than what He gets back in his homeland to lure him here. However, I wouldnt have to offer the same to say an Asian or an Egyptian (for the same position). I could offer half of that which would still be more than what he could get back in his homeland and that would be sufficient to get him here! Not that I agree with it but this is how it works here unfortunately.

Janatks, Oh i would be really upset too because I have lived here for so long that I take these things for granted that things like this will not be allowed on the shelves without prior warning. But I guess we all just have to be really cautious now regarding what we buy. Do let us know what was the outcome of your complaint at DED.

Hi! I 'm planning on doing a cake smash session for my 1 year old. There's actually a cake smash outfit that one can wear for the session that consists of a matching cone cap, tie/bow, suspenders and shorts. Has any one seen this around? I've asked a few stores at MCC and no one knew about it. Any one can help? TIA

Tigerente, the one in sharjah I believe had 3 different warehouses next to eachother. so 2 of them had all the big stuff like sofas, bedroom sets and dining tables and the last one had all the home accessories such as painting, clocks, vases and flowers, organizers and loadsa great carpets!!

I went to the warehouse sale last year which was in Sharjah. It's a good place to buy some stuff for a bargain but note that the items that were there at the warehouse were either slightly damaged or a little wear and tear.

Thank You All for the re-assurance. Australiajudy, yup he does understand simple instructions and plus we have this huge chart of "baby's first words" with pictures and he touches the correct picture when we say out the words. And yes, he's growing up in a bi-lingual environment, although we speak to him only in English. When my son talks to me in baby talk (lol which makes no sense at all), should I guess and tell him what he's trying to tell me or should i just nod and pretend to understand his story?

Hi! I have a blackberry torch 9800 and have the basic social package from etisalat. Does whatsapp work on this or do I need a Wi-Fi connection? Called the etisalat blackberry helpline and they stated that they dont deal with whatsapp! It does work for friends of mine without WIFI and on the same basic social package but they have a different blackberry model. I gave birth at welcare however they were chargin around 2k for circumcision. Finally went and got my son's circumcision done at GMC, ajman for around 480 dhs. <em>edited by Chocoholic83 on 02/05/2012</em>

I did hear on the radio (103.8) once regarding the sri lankan embassy giving free training for maids and labors. Maybe you should try callin the embassy and see what training they provide. ?

I have a double mini electric medela pump that I use once per day. Today all of a sudden, the pump wouldn't work, the suction was so less that I couldnt express. I've had it for about 6 months. What do I do? I work and I need it. Are there any Medela's customer service or should I take it to Babyshop? But i dont have the receipt with me anymore! :(

Thank you! The thing is I didnt have any side effects with metformin so I didnt really mind taking it. It really helped me lose weight and now I'm secretly contemplating of taking it again just to help me get rid of all the post pregnancy weight! lol To answer your first question, I would ask you to do the clomid cycle and let the doctor study your follicular phases before going in to IUI.

Have you gotten your insulin tested? I was on metformin on and off for about 3 years along with clomid cycles as well. Nothing successful. Got my insulin tested. It was still high even with all the metformin i was taking. The dr. prescribed another medication. Got my insulin tested the next month and Alhamdulilah it went to normal levels. A month later I got pregnant en route the natural normal way!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :) Buying a dress could be expensive. I found a tailor/dressmaker who was willing to do my wedding gown. Went around shopping with her to get the materials and the accessories and voila she did a fab job. Took her a month and a half and atleast 5 fittings to get it done! She charged me 1100 dhs as her tailoring charge. I got the materials at the deira souk- 1750 dhs.
