thanks maxmistry, that does help. my dr said I would be pushed to find the Men-C vaccine here. they give Menactra routinely at 2 years however my dr said it is safe from 9 months (it is given in the USA from thatage so anyone from the US know about this please respond!) but you have to give two doses of it 3 months apart. I am seeing him tomorrow to find out more but any advice is appreciated.

Hi all, I am travelling soon on the A380 and have booke dthe bulkhead seats. However, I will be travelling with my one year old who will be in her own seat in a sit and stroll and I am concerned that it will not fit in these seats as the arm rests do not come up. Does anyone know whether the sit and stroll fit into these seats as they are supposed to be wider? Thanks

we just went to atlantis aquaventure on the weekend with our 4 year old (and 11 month old) and it was amazing!!!! we barely saw her for hours!! she loved it. could also take the LO i the water too. better than wild wadi as less chance for them to run off and you can sit a lot closer. cannot comment on the other two as have not been. one would hope that they are cheaper though! there is also another one in RAK, can'r remember what it is called though, sorry. you can stay in cabins there which looked like fun.

for US $2000.00? you will probably get charged! i think they do not charge for anything under about $270 US. i have been charged when over and not when under whenever i have done shop and ship. probably never spent much more than that in one go but i do know people (friends) that have been charged too when over that amount.

Hi Lyndy, Thanks for your reply. I am actually after the Phil & Ted's brand Mountain Buggy, it is a brand from New Zealand. I want it becuase it is side by side and can take different weights of children at the same time, my friend back home has one and raves about it. Plus you can have a new born in it in the carrycot!

A topic i have spent much time researching!! i have a 4 year old and an 8 month old. we moved here, from aus, when my eldest was 10 months old an di was so overwhelmed at the lack of any guidleines here that when i went home 2 months later on hols i cought a safe and sound that we still use. when my 8 month old was born i did heaps of research - should i buy a maxi cosi isofix system or get one from aus. i decided on the maxicosi pebble and i am happy with that for the moment. it has one of the highest safety ratings in the UK and Europe. the biggest difference is that Australia is one of the only countries to have compulsory anchor points for all car seats. this is why isofix systems have not come to aus yet and why many of the overseas rearfacing systems and other car seats are illegal in aus. i have not decided whether australia is just over-regulating or whether the anchor makes it safer than isofix. i will say that driving here takes some getting used to and people can drive very fast, do not indicate and you have to be on your toes all the time. i am still tempted to get a safe and sound for my 8 month old next time i go home (i plan to keep her rear facing for as long as possible) but have not decided yet. a couple of my friend have started with maxi-cosi and then got the safensound later. if you are happy without anchors then isofix here is great. if not, get your seats in aus first. hope that helps!

i wish i could be of more help. hopefully someone who actually has experience with counsellors/psychologists here will reply! many drs clinics here offer psych services. i am pretty sure that dubai london clinic and healthbay do? otherwise you could ask a GP for a referral. as for price, does your health insurance cover it? it might be worth checking it out.

Cocoon nursery. Wonderful nursery. Very warm and welcoming. Teachers are lovely. British curriculum. my DD loves it! i have friends who have taken thier kids out to put them into nurseries closer to where they live only to pull them out and send them back to cocoon!

i agree with some of the others. i have heard that medised and phenergen can actually have the opposite affect on many children. i was flying to oz with my dd when she was 12 months and the lady next to me had her ds of about the same age and gave him medised. he barely slept a wink and my dd slept for most of the flight (i did not give her anything)! apparently it recudes the lungs capacity to work, my dr actually told me it can stop the lungs working, which is why it is really dangerous for LO. 1 is way too young. plus, like boysboysboys said, there is no way i am giving my kids something when i am 35000 feet up in the air and no way to get them help if something goes wrong. when are you flying back? i am going back with 2 LO this time! i think i am going a bit loopy. maybe we will be on the same flight and can kee each other sane!!

hi there, my dd is 8 months old and absolutely refuses to roll from her tummy to her back and when she rolls on to her tummy she screams. however, if i put her on her tummy and she is in the right mood she will play happily for ages on her tummy but won't roll on to her back. she can sit up unaided and seems ok in all other areas so am hoping it will click one day that she can actually get out of this position! it sounds pretty similar to your son.

this is called the startle reflex (although i love flapping arms syndrome!) and it is an involuntary movement. It usually takes babies about 3 - 4 months before they grow out of it. we persisted in wrapping our DD until about 4 months as she had a big startle reflex. thirteen weeks is still quite young to stop wrapping and a lot of mums don't persist as they feel if their baby is coming out of the wrap then that is what they want. I think that you just have to go with what works for you, as with most things with a baby. people will always have opinions and do things differently! also, i just felt it gave her more security (also was told that too). hope that helps.
