Haven't bought anything but i went through the process to sell a Chloe bag i have that's authentic and they are very thorough and authenticated everything before they agreed to sell it, i was impressed, plus they have an office on SZR so don't think they'd try to rip anyone off. Just wish they would hurry up and sell the bag ;)

I had the same problem a few years ago, placed the order, got confirmation then a day or so later notification it had been cancelled, that was using my uk card and billing address. I can't remember what it said now but the short version is Debenhams don't seem to post to the shop and ship po. Box addresses. Can you get it sent to someone in the uk and get them to post it to your shop and ship address, a pain and a you'll have to pay postage but if it's a big saving it might be worth it. Good luck!

Have you tried taking the back panel off and pressing the reset button? The same thing happened to our LG and was a simple fix, worth a try before you pay someone!

Have you tried latitude breakfast in jumeirah beach hotel? It's not American per say but they have everything on your list and much more. I'm not sure what time they serve breakfast until though and depends on if you want child friendly or not ;)

Has anyone in jvc had any health problems since moving to mirabella houses? We've lived in Dubai for almost 7 years and moved to jvc last october, we're not sickly people but since we've moved here the 3 of us have been sick constantly and my husband is completely convinced it's because of the air quality and all the dust coming in. In terms of our house, i'm happy, less stairs would be good but for the money this is terrific value, we have a small garden on the ground level but we rarely use it since it's so open and no privacy. There's a large terrace upstairs but i've found it impossible to keep clean, it stays clean for a week max and then it's coated in dirt and dust again. Whenever there's a sandstorm the house is completely covered in sand, windows and doors (in our house at least) seem to be very poorly sealed. The location is great, it's only a short drive to most places. Dewa is reasonable and local shop is also handy, HTH.

My dd is just over 2 and a great talker, started nursery at the beginning of the year for 3 mornings a week, she does know most of the colours but i think that's a credit to a song they sing at nursery more than anything else! Some days she can count to 15 other days it's 1,2,5,7,3 she can recognise her name now but no letters as far as i'm aware. Got her nursery report last week and the options next to each learning point were achieved or working towards and for almost everything she got 'ahieved' But they were simple things like 'can stack blocks' and 'draws well with crayons' so seriously do not worry, she's only 2, personally at this age i just want her to have fun and if she learns while doing that it's a bonus! Don't feel guilty about working either, i'm a sahm and we don't spend our time at home with flash cards and learning shapes, the things my dd has learned at nursery she wouldn't have learned as quickly at home with me! We have a shopping list game and a jigsaw set with colours and numbers from borders in mcc which she loves, might be worth a look if you want a nice quiet activity to do together :) edited by GlitterCupcake on 23/06/2012

I've bought sweetened shredded coconut in spinneys but haven't seen unsweetened stuff. The sweetened stuff is usually by the cake ingredients and it's in a royal blue bag with bakers written on it. I usually buy it in the one in springs or motor city, it's fab in carrot cake :)

CelMetro was recommended to me by the ladies on here and they were great, it was 585 for an ipad 2 screen with a genuine apple screen and a 2 year guarantee. They had a cheaper option for the 'fake' screen but it only came with a 1 month guarantee and wasn't much cheaper. They also picked it up and dropped it off for free but I think they are in JLT. The number is 044541416, hth

There's a photo shop across from Carrefour, I think it's Kodak and they will take them for you. They did a good job of my toddlers, just make sure you get the disk if you want it for reprints - it's included in the price but I had to go back and ask for it.

She was my Dr all the way through my pregnancy and to be honest I didn't really have any strong feelings until I was overdue and had to be induced. . . I didn't want to be but my many questions of why we couldn't wait longer etc etc were all answered with the most up to date information and that's when I suddenly knew I was in great hands, all ended in a C-Section although she's very pro natural birth and I couldn't have been happier with her in the end. She did tell me she thought AH gave her the doctors too many patients and she moved to DM before my 6 week appointment which was when a lot of other docs at AH left too.

Try Azur Spa on Wheelz, I've used them a few times and they've always been very professional, Gelish isn't on the list as far as I can see but I'm sure the last time I spoke to them they said they do it, they're based in Silicon Oasis.

Bath toys, bubbles, small boxes of raisins, popcorn, small single use bath foams (DD was given one shaped like a cats head, just small and cheap but she loved it - no idea where the mum bought them), hair clips for girls, little books, teething rings, homemade cookies packaged in little Daiso bags, plastic fork and spoon set, beach ball. . . honeslty we have had some incredible and very personalised goody bags at 1st birthday parties. This all came as a shock to me because for my DD's 1st birthday party I hadn't even considered party bags!! For the older ones how about crayons, small colouring books, cheap bracelets/play jewellery, sweeties, small toys, party blowers etc. Honestly try not to get too caught up in it, IMHO a birthday party is supposed to be about the birthday boy/girl having a great time with their friends, not going home with a party bag full of stuff that's 'cheap' but costs you a fortune! Also we were at a second birthday party a few weeks ago and the mum handed all the kids an empty party bag then the bday boy released a pinata (sp) so everyone scrambled and filled their bag with candy, I thought it was a fab idea and would suit all ages!

wow, but did she drop it? It bounced down the steps and onto the tile floor and I don't think they could be convinced otherwise. There's no apple shop here, just online - they won't open an independant shop here because they don't want to share ownership with anyone :( I read different things from different countries about apple's policy on this but there were lots of very different answers and I figured since I dropped it I wouldn't be covered. . . should have insured it . . . we live and learn ;)

lol actually the first thing I did was check the price of the screen on ebay, then I checked the you tube 'how to' and that's the point I decided it was not a good idea and came on here!

We got a white wooden set from Ikea at Christmas, pretty cheap and solidly built. There were also cheap character sets in a few shops but I was worried about her climbing on them, they didn't look like they would survive my toddler lol!

Started my day with my little princess bouncing my ipad2 down the stairs and smashing the screen so now need to get it repaired. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can have it done and approximately how much it will cost? TIA

I found this one but probably best to start with one of the search comparison sites to see what range of prices they come up with x http://www.sendmybag.com/UAE.php

There's a new play area in building blocks nursery just across the road, i haven't tried it yet but there's an offer on dealgobbler which makes it hreat value. I have a 2 year old and the times she's been to extreme fun she really enjoyed it but i've never really let her play with the machines so they don't distract her the same. I do love how reasonable their juice and tea/coffee is priced and i don't have a problem paying by the hour but i think you should pay per hour for both areas ratjer than having to pay the 55 for both areas and 2 hours if you only want one hour.

Hey we moved to jvc a couple of months ago, we pay dewa direct and our first bill was 1100, second was only 600 for a 3 bed townhouse if that helps and we're a family of 3.

I was a week away from a business trip around europe when i found out i was 7 weeks pregnant, a couple of long haul flights and lots of short ones . . . all in economy and it was completely fine. My doc told me to avoid caffeine and just drink lots of water and walk around every hour or two. Enjoy it and don't worry, it'll probably be the most relaxing flight you'll have for a while :)

Yep i feel your pain with the roads, i love going home and driving a little car on the little roads where people don't reverse on highways and such like lol. I'm from stirling originally. We're in jumeirah village circle which is a big construction site lol but it only takes about 15 mins to get to mall of the emirates. Are you in the greens that's sort of next to springs? I can do thursday if it suits you? I'm flexible on time and location let me know what's works for you.

Hey welcome, i'm also scottish and have a little girl who is 20 months. Where are you from? I met some really lovely friends at the bumps and babes group when my little one was a baby but in the last few months most of them have moved away (typical of dubai unfortunately) so i've gone along to the toddler groups which are great too but i know what you mean about feeling lonely. edited by GlitterCupcake on 17/01/2012
