Heard mixed reviews about Al Basma. Teachers are mostly native as I know. But since it's the same management (ex Giggles) so doesn't sound too good. Kids are mixed with majority of arabs. But my friend who has 3 kids there seem to be happy overall. Check new Amity International School. It's the same district. But in September they will open only from FS till Grade 3.

also i believe that they try to help expats ie people coming from other gcc countries, because you are already in expat system, know the systems, and the schooling etc, compared to brand new people from the uk etc. Thank you so much for your help. As usually you are very helpful!

I have a picture or 2 if you want me to mail it to you. I also see there is a lot of development residential wise near the school. That might also be a option for you guys with regards to a place to stay. Let me know if I can do some follow up from this side for you. Greetings Thanks for your reply. I've tried to contact the school today via Skype and they couldn't tell me anything. But then I decided to write them email and they replied saying my daughter is accepted to FS2. It would be great if you could send me that pics! My email is notbuddy a-t gmail.com Do you know what is next? I mean when we have to buy uniform and paid for the first semester etc?

When I sent online all the docs to BISAD they answered me saying they have some places available for FS1. The registar got me wrong (she thought I needed a place now in mid-year) so I sent another email saying that we are looking for a place for Sep 2013 and no more respond after that :-( I've sent 2 more emails but nothing from them (( GEMS Cambridge I applied online but first u must pay registration fee and even if u pay it won't guarantee school admission (which I find a bit strange - I would pay for sure if first they told me they still have places for FS2)

We are moving from Doha. In Al Reef you can find 2-3 bedrooms villas for 100-110k so that's fine. At the end we have a choice to accept the offer or to search for another job.

if it was open buffet that you ordered and your friend not, then the staff was right. Otherwise everyone will pay only for one buffet and eat it all the family :-)

Unfortunately we have to pay for the school ourselves. Now our daughter is in the nursery and we are paying 2400 QAR per month which is 2421 AED. Is there any good school with that money for 4 yeard old?

I guess the conditions will be the same as now in Doha - means company will pay for appartment, provide health insurance and transportation for school. They won't pay for the school ;-(

I've tried so many pediattricians in Doha and wasn't totally happy about any of them. But I decided that doctor Samer from Al Emadi Hospital is the best for us. My daughter loves him.

Perhaps you could mention what kind of stroller you are looking for. Someone may be able to let you know if they've spotted it anywhere in Doha. I find the forum is great that way. I am looking for Peg Perego Si or Bumbleride Flite or Nuna Pepp i guess there are no options for that here in Doha (((( Anyway, thanks for all the advices

Good evening to everyone! I faced such a problem: our daughter stroller got broken, we checked Toys'R'Us, Mothercare,Mamas&Papas and Babyshop but haven't found exactly what we need :-((((( So I was wondering maybe any of you is coming till July to Doha and can bring the stroller we need to us? We will give money directly or can send it via Western Union (if you are still out of Doha right now). Thanks a lot!
