There are boarding facilities for cats. However, boarding facilities for dogs may come later.

Have a look at Soneva Fushi - http://www.sixsenses.com/soneva-fushi/ DH and I loved it, possibly one of our most enjoyable and relaxing holidays. Wouldn't recommend it with kids, but for pure understated luxury in every way, hard to beat.

marycatherine - I totally agree with you. Having lived and driven in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Muscat over a period of 16 years collectively, I would say that the driving in Doha is, by far, the worst of the evils I have experienced in the ME. This comes from somebody who really enjoys driving, drives a lot; I think I'm confident and competent and never had an accident in 16 years in the ME, nor anywhere else for that matter. This is my experience: Dubai - Always alert, but fine. Abu Dhabi - Always alert, but fine. Muscat - Like driving in Paradise after the above - just like the Eagles sang, 'Peaceful, Easy Feeling'. :-) Doha - On edge frequently, shouting and swearing at somebody most days (within the confines of my vehicle, of course), no concept of waiting at a junction or roundabout (not even a red light!), complete lack of knowledge of driving rules, skills and etiquette! The aggressiveness is mind numbing!!

Not totally familiar with the Pearl, but think it is further on than Carluccio's, it is on the left hand side though with half built apartment blocks on the other side - I know, that helps a lot - not! :-) Just drive, seek and ye shall find.

I can confirm it was definitely open for business at 11.00am today. Big, bright and modern; similar style to a good airport duty free and a pleasure to shop in. Seem to have a wider range of wine. Italian ccoked hams and uncooked hams available in the chiller, but no bacon or sausages yet until freezers are installed - a few more months, apparently. Covered parking for 125 vehicles. Location: Medina Centrale, Gate 2, Unit 122. When you enter the Pearl and hit the first roundabout, go left and keep driving straight all the way (you will see signs directing you to Medina Centrale). There is a little guard house structure with a 'tiny' sign stating QDC and a couple of guards standing outside. Thank goodness - no more driving to that 'back of beyond' place.

I used Modern Rose Trading - Tel. 24492174 - located in Ghubra. Great selection of materials. They did a reasonable job for a reasonable price - 13 windows. I went to the shop, picked my material and then drove the guy to my villa to measure up. However, they will also come to your villa with sample books. I would be prepared to be underwhelmed, coming from the UAE, as I don't think the finish will be to the standard you may be used to.
