[b'>I went with my LO last week. It's really pretty to have a wander around but not too much shade. We were there for an hour and would definitely visit again with a picnic. Friends went this weekend and said they are now charging 20 AED entrance fee (they were even charged this for their 2 year old). Also if your LOs get too close to the flowers (not touching them) the guards have whistles and are not afraid to use them![/b'> We went last Thursday and also had the hounding and following of the guards. However don't think about taking picnic, we sat at the tables provided and I gave my child (20 months old) a biscuit, the guard was over in a flash and said, ''no food, no food'' I ignored him, thinking seriously I am not taking a biscuit off a toddler... he got his supervisor who told me to stop the child eating immediately (a biscuit really??). They also said it is not allowed to use the parasols in case the wind blew them away. Pity because it is a pretty place but we won't go again.

Thank you, we have seen Grey's and Downton, forgot about those, I will look into Game of Thrones and Sons of Anarchy. I wasn't keen on The Walking Dead though. Thanks!

We got our rattan set from Ranches Furniture, high quality but a lot cheaper than Rattan House. https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Ranches-Furniture/331718476879178?sk=photos_stream

I'm afraid it sold out weeks ago. It's held at the Golf Club on the driving range and is a sit down dinner etc. You can see the fireworks from other areas of the Ranches but the event itself is sold out.

Thank you ladies, feel a bit better that you have responded well and done something about it. Hopefully my neighbours will do the same, so far neither sides have been troublesome in any other way, so I'm hoping for a good outcome.

I used to live in a high rise in Sharjah and every Ramadan they would use the fire alarm 5 times a day to notify people of the time for prayer!!! If an actual fire had happened during Ramadan nobody would have paid the slightist bit of notice!! Being Sharjah, there were plenty of Mosques nearby for the call to prayer, so really unnessecary. edited by bits on 18/10/2012

[b'>Thanks for the feedback and good wishes bits. Are you seeing results? myfitnesspal drove me mad trying to find the stuff so I use any online calorie counter chart and old fashioned pencil and paper! I'll certainly have a look at the FB group too here's hoping (although it's not hope- it's hard work and dedication!) :)[/b'> Yes I am seeing results, I have lost weight and feel a lot better in myself. I have more energy and don't feel sluggish. I eventually want to get my blood checked to see what's happened to my colesteral etc. but I'll do that after I've been doing 5:2 for 6 months or more. :)

[b'>Thanks for all the responses. I think that two days 600 cal fast eating two small meals in a 6 hour window and 5 days 1250 cal could be the way for me to go. Weight loss is very difficult for me , think my metabolism is shot to ****, so this could be the kick start that is needed. Fingers crossed I'll let you know...[/b'> Hi Emur, I do 5:2 and I eat 500 cals on fast days and find sticking to a 20/4 window makes it easier. So apart from drinks (water, coffee) I only eat between 5pm and 9pm, usually this will be a 350 cal meal at 5pm and a snack later on. On eating days I stick to 1200-1300 cals, I use www.myfitnesspal.com to track calories otherwise I wouldn't have a clue where I am. I find on fasting days I have a lot more energy than on eating days. I usually do Sunday and Wednesday but keep it flexible in case of meals out etc. Facebook has a good group called Eat Fast and Live Longer, it's got some helpful information and the people on there are either doing 5:2 or AF. All the best!

I bought 5 bottles from Le Marche yesterday, so I think they have some in the back they just bring a few out each day. Also was in Spinneys Bin Sougat and they had every flavour and loads of it, however Motor City this morning had nothing....

Hi Snugs, Well we managed to get a flight today and it was fantastic. My 3 year old has always wanted to do it so my husband and I took him and our baby and just paid for the extra ticket. We all really enjoyed it, thank you so much. I'll be dropping a little thank you something off this week XX

[b'>I sent mine off just over 7 weeks ago (24th May) and today bit the bullet, got my credit card out and called the UK helpline for the first time. They told me pp is through the checking stage and approved, now in queue for printing - apparently 2-day process currently. I was told I will receive it by Monday next week and if I don't I should call back. The guy did explain that the backlog issue is in processing/ checking the applications, not in the actual making of the pp. The oh-so-pricey info line was very helpful and polite, just hope he's right and I will get next week as promised! If I had known, would definitely have done as BellaUK advises and waited to travel to UK to use the 1day service - this is the only way to avoid the 8 week wait...[/b'> HAve you had your credit card charged? and if so when? thanks

I delivered with Dr.Shiva 3 years ago and again 3 days ago, I love her and wouldn't have anyone else. The nurses are also mainly very good, the odd grumpy one. The only down side to Medcare is the finance dept, however I have to say they were better this time than 3 years ago. Dr.Shiva is very pro-natural delivery, I mean pro vaginal delivery, she will more than happily encourage pain relief if thats what you want and will also respect your wishes if you don't. Make the first appt of the day, 9am, that way you can guarantee being seen by 9:20am and guarantee a parting space. All the best!

[b'> I guess that is why is also better to have someone else present like a doula to support you. When you delivered there the first time, where you allowed to have a doula with you?[/b'> I didn't have a doula with me just my husband, I'm sure I would have been allowed one if I had wanted one, I think they allow 2 adults to accompany you at the birth, but personally I didn't want anyone but DH there.

I delivered at Medcare with Dr.Shiva and am about to deliver again with her next week. My birth plan was followed exactly as I'd asked, this was important because we were doing cord blood banking and the instructions for that have to be followed but they were well aware of the procedure already. I had another doctor with me whilest I was pushing and she tried to give me an episiotomy but as soon as I saw the scissors I said no thanks I'd rather tear, just then Dr.Shiva came back in and she stood up for me and said, ''she's made it very clear on her birth plan that she doesn't want one'' and that was that. I do think it depends on how alert you are though, I had an epidural so was laughing and chatting between pushes, but if you're in a lot of pain you might just go with whatever they say. Just to add, the episiotomy was the only thing they tried, they definately didn't give me an emema or try to shave me. edited by bits on 21/04/2011

Nevermind, I'll wait til I'm back and pick it up from a shop, DH nagging because when he wants something he wants it yesterday but he'll just have to wait :)

Thanks everyone, yes I just read that you can't claim for online purchases, will have to buy instore instead then. Some websites automatically knock the VAT off when delivering outside the EU but as we all know, most of them don't deliver here :(

did you have to prove residency for outside the UK and did you have to show the goods or just the receipt, neither of these are a problem if we have to do it but would like to know in advance. Thanks Also it will be bought online so how does that work with filling the forms? edited by bits on 18/04/2011

[b'>Aquaplay is fantastic especially the aquatraptions on the left end side. I did my DS's 5th b-day party there and all the kids loved it! They did rides, aquatraptions, entertainment, face painting and the sot play aera. The price for the party was very reasonable and the entertainer was great![/b'> Hi can you remember what the price was for your son't birthday party? I have searched and searched the internet for their website but can't find it. Thanks

Don't really care who's presenting, if there's several news channels covering it I'll flick between them. Pleased we don't have to watch online or pay silly amounts to OSN.

Surely one of the satelite channels here will air it? Anyone know? I really don't want to have to ring Du up only to have an argument because nobody knows what I'm talking about or because they want to charge a ridiculous amount of money for pay per view. I agree if it's through V P N it will be really slow... Can't even go out to watch it as I'm having a baby 2 days before.
