Hi, Busybee2. I appreciate your advice. I appreciate your advice too Busybee2...that is why I addressed this thread to you as knew you would help by providing the facts (from what I read from your previous responses) :) Know the other site you are talking about, just a browser there....not a lot of useful information there thanks i will see post on here....... yes the facts i tell you them as it is. Dear busybee, very sorry to hear that you have been criticised, however want to tell you that your answers have always been valid & you have been of great help to me. keep it up since you are an asset to any forum. On a different note would like to add that I prefer the other forum at times since it is more active & hence plenty of new content everyday.

[Hubby's boss is still "considering" the request we put in for help with school fees. In the meantime school places are flying off the shelves (tears hair out). Eli, i don't understand. Will you only send your children to school if your DH's company chooses to help? Surely you have to get them into a school fullstop. Apply for all the schools you wish to and then you will have options. Waiting to hear from your husband's boss is not a reason to delay the process although it may well be a personal worry. yep i agree that if you get offered a place you have to take it obviously it may be difficult if you havent done your sums and cant afford it, unfortunately a lot of people came unstuck this way, thinking they can afford all the luxuries here and get them on credit and then wham something happens. but people do have to still get loans for cars and houses and school fees. agree fully do not accept the package unless you are not going to be financially better off. my choice to go to abu dhabi is to save some money for our retirement

definitely grab the place. your daughter in the mean time can afford to go to nursery or stay at home but I assume your son in older hence it would be a problem if he is not accepted anywhere.

ok just seen them: for year 9 for eg at BC they are charging 61,640 plus 500 (but you get that back) at BSAK they are charging 54,300 plus 9,200 so all in all the difference is a couple of thousand over the first year so quite on par really, not like repton prices then at all. In primary years the fees at BC are much higher than the Aldar schools & when you have more that one child to pay for the difference in price does add up. As to the registration fee that is something you pay only once so not that much of a burden.

looked at the fees for brighton and they are kind of on the high side. Maybe its coz I'm new to all this in this country however thought they are way too steep, after all it is still a new school and has to prove itself. Our company allowance is way below the yearly fee.

Aldar schools are accepting applications for non siblings [that was last Thursday'> this coming Thursday. Make sure you have the form completed ready to take in. Last year parents were queuing up at the schools at 5am! aparently somebody was queing at bsak from 9pm the nite before Its pathetic for parents to go to such extremes, this gives the schools too much importance!!! Its probably the same people queuing who complain that the school fees are on the increase..........what do you expect when they are given so much importance. Schooling is an important factor for me & I will definitely try all possible to find a space for my kids at my preferred schools however I have no intention of doing anything insane.

:( didn't manage to email BSAK application today since I am still waiting for my dh's employer to send me confirmation that visa is being processed & this is mandatory with the application. Called BSIAD to check if they have any answer yet since its been 3 weeks from when I sent application however they promised that they should get back to me by the end of february. Will also have to keep my fingers crossed for some luck with al yasmina. I feel so out of control!!

Have already given up since I'm sure that in the previous 3 working days plenty of other applications had been accepted by the school.................................still can't figure out how the system works!!???!!!! Doesn't show a very professional approach

I'm kind of in panic mode. sent my al yasmina applications by email. does that mean that my kids don't stand a chance at all? With people queuing I assume they will not even have the time to process emails & hence first take the applications of people who are already in abu dhabi. please advise since the school issue is worrying me too much
