as a long time visitor of Lebanon and having many lebanese friends there I can say that unfortunately Lebanon has suffered of many problems however I visited many times (during many turbulence times as well) and have not felt more un safe then in any other country. Security is very tight (like they check your bag when entering shopping mall for example) but especially going to a ski resort should be fine, don't cancel. Lebanon is a wonderful country, the people are so kind the food is amazing and I know you will have a great time!!

Thank you thank you Buckeyd, Daza, Marroosh and Mrsb, that is valuable information. I never heard of extendable beds either and the book case that you can hang also sounds great. I know it is not a hotel but I agree, she needs to have a decent place to sleep and spend some of her free time there. Will have a look at Ikea, thanks again ladies

thanks marroosh, I however think that even a bunk bed won't even fit this small size room (we are living in apartment which has way smaller rooms than eg villa)

thank you ladies, I was hoping to find out on holidays, days off, mobile phone credit etc. I am sure I won't be the only one wanting the helper that is living in your house and looking after your children to be happy too, also just I find the competition hiring a lot, so I want to offer benefits so I can get a good helper to work with me. Thanks

Hi there, congratulations on your pregnancy. I was in your situation as well so I can imagine your concern, what I can advise you is to already start looking now, you are going to be very busy when the baby is there and any help will be very welcome I can guarantee you that. Don't make it hard on yourself and wait too long it ads too much stress, if you already know you have a wonderful helper she can already get used to the family and the way you want to have things done in the house. I did the same, my maid started before I gave birth and so she could also bond with the baby when born, I still looked after the baby myself but it was nice for my baby to already feel familar with my maid too, trust me, that makes a huge difference. Also many maids have a lot of experience with babies which is a great plus when you are having your first far away from your home country and family. Good luck!

thanks ishehere i initially thought the same too but have met quiet a few families now that are living in southridge and the residence, obviously there is a lot of walking space without having to cross any roads plus the mall nearby which is also handy. This is why I am trying to get some more info from fellow expats :-)

Hi I had the miyo baby hammock with stand and also the canoe (which you can use up till 2 years old) and I love love loved the miyo one, can highly recommend it, life saver when baby is upset and cannot sleep, the gentle swaying and bouncing really gets them in a nice sleep. It said you could use till 9 months though I my baby was too big for it at 6 months, so really something that is good for newborns.
