I just know of Sweet Connection in Mercato Mall. They do all sorts of gluten-free goods.

I heard great things about Dr. Soheyl in the Noble Veterinary Clinic in the Green Community. In Sharjah, Dr. Jim is good at Europets.

A family friend of ours had the same issue with her two kids! And it was worse because one of them was dyslexic. They went to an institute called The Brain and Learning in Tecom, I don't know if you heard of it, but their mother said it just turned their lives around. They don't exactly tutor kids, they do something called brain training which develops their brains and helps them carry on on their own. They didn't only become better at school work but they also became more attentive and faster at finishing their work.

I recommend Dr.Jim at Europets. He's one of the very few good vets here.

There is a white Husky/GSD cross at the Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter called Twinkle who has been there almost two years now. He has had a terrible life so far, the house he was rescued from used to abuse him, he was adopted once then dumped in RAK so we had to get him from there. He has never gotten to sleep in anyone's lap or ever had a soft bed. We can't even play fetch with him because he is scared of people raising their hands thinking he's going to be beaten again :( He really is a great dog, quiet, playful and very loyal. The only problem is that anyone who was ever interested in him had other animals and he isn't great with them.. If you know anyone who could give this poor boy a second chance at life please have them go down to the shelter to meet him! (You can see a picture of him on their facebook page.)

Hi, Have you checked her for a microchip? If she has one you would be able to get the contact details of the owners. You can also send pictures and details to the shelters here and they can help find the owners as they have a large animal lover community following them.

I'm not too familiar with pet relocation, but I heard Dubai Kennels and Cattery here are very helpful.

I'm sure you can get small cage traps from the animal souk that will shut as soon as the mouse enters. This way the mouse is unharmed and you can release it somewhere far far away. I have used these traps (larger of course) for stray cats as a part of a trap/neuter/release program. I can't say I have experience trapping mice though, the cats usually get to them first...

It's great you want to help out the kitty, also if you are in Sharjah the Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter will give stray cats medical help free and spay/neuter them! After the cat has been treated she can go back to where she was living, after all she's used to it and, as you said, seems content and has food and water available. As for bringing a new cat home (not necessarily this one), it would take time and patience, but if done properly the two cats will eventually get along. Is your boy neutered? It's easier introducing animals that have been fixed.

The Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter recently rescued a mother dog and her puppies. They are around a month old now and are just the cutest little fluffy things around! Each pup is a different colour and personality, you can check them out and see if you like any. As for breeders, there are no licensed or reputable breeders in the UAE. There are puppy mills and backyard breeders that will sell you pure-breed dogs for a few thousand dirhams. It's better to adopt from a shelter and save a life!

You were really lucky! Lots of pets never find their way home, or even worse! Here are some precautions you can take: . Spay/neuter you cats, because they would be less likely to run away to look for a mate. . Microchip them, so that if they do get lost nobody thinks they are strays and they could be returned to you easily when found. . Make sure you don't let your cats out so soon when you have just moved in a new neighborhood, if you want to make sure you do it before they eat so you can guarantee they will come back soon because they are hungry. It would also be best if they were supervised. . Make sure there are no doors or windows kept open at home where cats can escape from. Cats are very curious creatures, they will want to go out and explore any chance they get.

Even after being neutered there is still testosterone in male cats that would take time to fade away. This might be why he is picking fights with your cat or even trying to mate with her. Wait another week or so and see if his behavior improves. Cats always adapt where they live, eventually they will learn to get along.

I'm sorry to hear about that, and it's great that you are willing to put in the effort to do what's best for the dog as well as your family, a lot of people would have just thrown their dog out in the street. If you want to put him down take him to an animal shelter, it's a sad truth but they are used to having to put down aggressive dogs and they would probably help with yours as well. Because it's a pet and not a stray, so they would probably require a donation to do it (to cover the cost of the injection). I don't know if all shelters here do it, you can call and check with the one closest to you and explain your situation. I know the Sharjah Cat & Dog shelter would. Maybe while at a shelter you could have a look at the friendlier dogs that need good homes, you can guarantee that their dogs are not aggressive and you can ask for specific ones that are great with children and other pets (most shelter animals are). Maybe a Labrador or Retriever? They are the best family dogs.

Could this help? http://sharjah.dubizzle.com/community/services/other-services/2012/10/9/cat-hotel-how-about-a-home-to-keep-your-ca-12/ This thread was for cat minding in August-why bump it up??? I was going through posts and saw someone needed a place to keep their cat for Eid, and well, Eid is coming up.. Why not help? They were talking about the last Eid in August-hence my point it was too late to help. Maybe it's too late for last Eid, but there is another coming up. I don't see the harm done here.. Just thought you might be advertising a private service by bringing up such an old thread-anyway the link isn't working...... Just a place I kept my cats and saved the link for next time, guess it's not available anymore..

Is it a Cockatiel Macaw? I saw an ad on Dubizzle for a lost Cockatiel Macaw with a picture, maybe it belonged to somebody.

The Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter might be able to take up food donations to vaccinate your cats and check them, I'm unsure though. They might ask for a money donation instead, but its cheaper than vets because they are a non-profit organization. Either way, here's their number, you can call them between 8 am and 2 pm sun-fri and ask: 050 9175 481

I don't know about pure breeds, you probably would not find one cheap or easy here. You also need to watch out for backyard breeders. I do know where you can get Retriever/Labrador crosses though. Visit the Sharjah Cat & Dog shelter they just got 6 new puppies! They will let you take them out to their dog park where you can play with the puppies and see which you like. Adoption procedures are easy as well, all you have to do is fill out an adoption form and cover the vet services (cheaper than vet clinics), and all their dogs are already vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

Finding a pure breed Ragdoll kitten is difficult in the UAE, and almost all ads online are scams (especially ones that say they are abroad). How about adopting a shelter cat/kitten, you can find pure breed and mix breed cats (probably no ragdolls though). If it's the personality of a ragdoll you are looking for, there are plenty of cuddly cats that would love to be a part of a loving family.
