My DH like lots of men has a habit of leaving the toilet seat up. Normally this isn't much of a problem, but I'm almost 8 months pregnant at the moment and need to pee much more often. I don't turn on the lights if I wake up in the middle of the night. Consequently I have 'fallen' in twice in recent weeks. Not fun and it won't be much longer till if it happens again I will need DH to get 'out' again. I told him this to which he replied, call me if it happens and I'll go and grab the camera first... Still love him to bits and know he is only joking. My OH does this all the time his reply is he never complains when I leave the toilet seat down :)

I think people need to lighten up - we are talking very minor things here, a lot of which are typical male traits. I don't think any marriage will be rocked by their husband not folding his t-shirts properly, buying his wife a weed whacker for her birthday or snoring lol! It is a lighthearted thread and I don't believe anyone here is really disrespecting their husband. I say this stuff to my DH's face. We have a marriage based on taking the complete p*** out of each other and end up rolling around laughing. He even jokes when he's been a wally "go on, share it with EW" with a big smile on his face. I agree if anyone shared that their husband beat them, or was verbally abusive, had a drink problem or was cruel to the children then it would be different but complaining about making a mess in the kitchen - COME ON! *LIKE* scrap that! make that *LOVE* :) Love love love :)

I feel sad reading all of these posts, if you trust your maid why not let her stay in the house. Every culture has its own expectations and for many it is to buy a lot of gifts which they can't afford on an annual basis, so they choose to stay back a year to save the extra money. Don't you think they would LOVE to go home, but hold back for saving. We should applaud the selflessness! I am happy to leave our housemaid stay in the house when we are we are away on holiday, and I encourage her to use our kitchen and living room room while we away. It makes me happy that she is happy! Yes, she has her sister over and even, gasp, a friend, that is ok with me because I trust her! And sometimes, double gasp, I give them a bottle of grape! I should also say she is older than me, by two years, so she is not a young thing who is interested in men, she just likes to cook in a nice kitchen and sit on a comfy sofa and she is happy! Happy maid, happy Madam (or some of you may think madwoman!) Snugs i love this reply :)

I don't have high exceptions and I'm not talking about expensive many course meals in a five star hotel. In fact I would be happy with a red rose and box of chocolate too. And for those of you who asked why should I do something special for him: I am already planing something and thinking about a small, romantic gift for him. Valentine's day is a day but not just another day. It is a symbolic day that gives us an excuse to share our love with our loved ones and make them feel especial. Would you call Christmas, thanks giving and new year's day just another day?? If we think like that wouldn't all traditional dates will be just another day? Can we focus on my question now? ;) I don't think you can compare valentine's with christmas, thanksgiving or new years.Valentines is a made up day to make money

If you have to hint at it or remind him, then what's the fun in that? Not much surprise if you tell someone what to do. In any case, you're adults, not teenagers, so it's kinda silly to be making an issue about this. Just my two cents. I agree and it is only a day... To me it matters how he treats me 365 days a year not just 1 made up day My sentiments about this day, too. It's just a day. The OP wants him to get creative and plan something. How about you plan something for him ? We fought for equality. Why should all the romance be up to the man, this is the 21st century :-) i agree it's just 1 day it's what he does the rest of the year that matters I don't think people should be forced to spend a lot of money just because we are told we have to be romatic on a certian day of the year

There was a thread on here about a 30plan I think it was 30min of any form of exercise (walking /Gym ect) for 30 days. every day the ladies updated the thread with what they were doing. Would any of you be up for that.

Am I the only one who has never eaten a McD? When I have the choice of no food all day or junk I choose hunger. I haven't had it in about 18 years. We stopped it as a family July, although it was only a happy meal every coupe of months. January 16, we will be fast food and processed meats free family for 6 months! Yeayyyyy :) I've never had one the smell makes me feel ill

I agree Ayzey. I have no problem with drinking copious amounts but I like to do it slowly, quietly, at a table in a nice atmosphere and at great expense :-) So why is that classy? How do you get to decide that your version makes you classy? To begin with I was just trying to be funny - drinking at great expense versus a moshpit p** up. But to answer your question I think it is universally accepted that to get off your head at 35 or 40+ at an open air all you can drink binge in a belt as a skirt letting your mascara drip all over the margarita machines while your hips lip sync to ABBA cannot really be termed "classy" (which is a term I hate by the way). My comment was really less about my own self being classy and more about what it isn't. Lol...love this answer :) Thank you (takes a bow) [b'>in a belt as a skirt letting your mascara drip all over the margarita machines while your hips lip sync to ABBA cannot really be termed "classy[/b'> That has made my day so thank you

Seen this too many times - the elbowing for the crab legs at 600dhs a head brunches, the "ladies" too drunk to stand holding bottles of bubbles after they've gone "mine sweeping" (i.e. robbing bottles off tables) after last orders, come 4pm I've witnessed more than once women retching in the toilets, and more mutton dressed as lamb than I care to mention. I've had it with brunches - you can never eat that kind of value of food or drink and why would you want to? Spoils the whole weekend as well - too bloated / passed out by 5pm to do anything the rest of the day. My worst brunch experience was when I went with a whole bunch of Saffas and one was so hungover from the night before that when the obligatory round of shots came round, he downed his and promptly threw up. At the table. The waiter actually had to come round with a mop... I'm so glad I've never been to one I've always wondered if I was missing out.......but I'm obviously not

Not meaning to hijack this thread and distract from the original posting, but can anyone explain this sort of behavior? I have never in all my years of living in a variety of countries ever seen this sort of behavior been so widespread in single population or within the 30 to over 40 age group. Its shocking. I hate to also point out that its largely British. We passed by barasti last week and saw some equally horrible displays. [b'>What is it with Dubai?[/b'> It's not just in Dubai. Brit behaviour abroad is famous. I wonder if it can be narrowed down to county... is it not because they pay a certain amount to get in and then have 3hours to drink as much as they can to recoup that money? edited by hinze57 on 03/01/2013 Such class? A month ago a friend visited from London. Among our usual haunts for taking visitors we happened upon a five star hotel along the water hoping for a drink and some food. We had lost track of days and ended up there on a post brunch friday afternoon. God help us. Women of 'a certain age' barely covering up their bits cavorted around the terrace waving arms and wine glasses about while their male counterparts fell down the stairs to the terrace bar screaming and yelling about knickers, getting kits off and breaking glasses as they went. One particularly interesting moment was when one bloke stood up on a chair lifting his shirt to present a sizeable over 50 beer gut and breaking a rendition of Dancing Queen. Our guest looked at us and asked horrified "Is...is this the majority of the sorts from the west that populate Dubai" We looked humbly down at our wine glasses and murmured "Yes, I am afraid so" Given the ages of these people it is likely most had children here - or somewhere - we are being unkind to judge any of the teens here for their behavior when, frankly, these are their parents. My DH and I are certainly no strangers to tying one on and getting up to a good time but honestly? There are limits. I had a very similar experience here I was very embarrassed and yes most of the brunch crowd were definitely at an age where they would of had children. I have no problem with teenagers playing outside on the street I did it myself when I was their age it's better than sitting watching tv, playing games for 8-12 hours a day getting no fresh air

I was about 6 my brother woke me up to go down stairs to see if santa had come, my lovely wendy tent stood in the middle of the living room floor but nothing for my brother we ran upstairs to tell mum & dad that santa had forgotten him but there no sign of them. A few minutes later my parents arrived with his bike from next door dad always quick on his feet with a story said santa had called to say his new helper had made a mistake and had delivered his bike to the wrong house. I'll never forget the look on my brothers face

Beebers it's amazing how so many peoples phone don't work when they are going to be late and then spend the rest of the evening sending text & updating facebook lol! I still don't understand the check-in feature. I certainly don't want everyone knowing where I am all the time! I can't count how many times I used to bust employees with the whole "Just checked in at XYZ bar, WEEEEEE!" at 12am, and then I get some ludicrous "I am sooo sick, I think I have food poisoning" text/email at 8am. Hmmmmm. Some people are just better off without smart phones! Lol...........smart phone should not be used by stupid people

Yet people in Dubai do this all of the time. There really is no excuse nowadays with everyone having a cell phone. An SMS takes just a few seconds. That's what I don't get. People are connected 24/7, yet the only time people run out of minutes, don't receive texts due to network issues, or have some other phone catastrophe--it's usually when they need an excuse for being an inconsiderate @ss lol!
