If everyone is offering the same wage, I think it is safe to assume that's the standard wage for that jb. "Arabs" may get paid more as they speak Arabic, which is an economic skill in this "Arab" country. Just keep applying, get a LinkedIn account, and hope for something. Applying for jobs here is very depressing. I knw many, many Asans and Iranians with BTech or BCompSc degrees, with 10 years local experience wh can't get jobs. Good luck! thanks AmyAus82, i have hopes...

sorry to say sweetness but we recently advertised for an IT administrator and I was ASTOUNDED by the amount of CVs I received, it was crazy, there are so so many people looking for work in this field which I'm afraid does drive down the salaries. If you do want to stay in IT you need to get the most experience you can in order to differentiate yourself from the competition. COuld you perhaps think about asking your employer if you can take on additional responsibilities and create a duel role? Maybe office administrator or suchlike- this way they might feel they are saving another salary and increase your own - just a thought. Best of luck, try not to feel too down and try to be thankful for what you do have thanks kates01, u r right, the salaries highly depend on the experience of the person, but I know many people of my level who are getting much better than me, that makes me little depressed.

I tried negotiating with the manager but he said that we give an increment according to the company policy. I am not satisfied with what I am getting here.

true. I have been applying through many websites, I had received some calls for interviews, but they were offering low salary. I feel very depressed sometimes.

Why do you think the "arabs" are all well paid? its because i spoke to one of them. The arab guy who joined with me is getting a much higher salary though he was also a fresher at that time.

You can buy the book from supermarkets or book shops (395 AED) and there will be three vouchers in it for each restaurant. Hundreds of vouchers for other places too, plus a wine voucher in the centre of the book so well worth buying. You are welcome to some of mine if you can collect from JBR. edited by amelia on 28/01/2013 thanks for your kind gesture amelia... I will surely get it someday

There are vounchers in Entertainer for Mansour. Oasis Palm Tours also offer dhow cruises (150dhs I think). If your guest list is massive, would a private cruise be more cost-effective? edited by outspan on 21/01/2013 Thank u so much @outspan, I am considering Mansour Dhow dinner cruise, hopefully i will zero to it if I get a good deal :)

it seems good for sure. But I am looking for a less expensive cruise since the guest list is pretty long. Thanks :) If you contact Jamila cruise, I am sure they will give you a good price for a group. Let me know if you want the phone number I hope the dinner is worth it :)

Right, actually I was considering it on a cruise also. But since the occasion is very special, I feel really confused. So I just thought that if I could get some good and thoughful suggestions here that would make the occasion worth it, it would be really helpful :)
