Sandy123, we are in exactly same situation as your sister (just in another area). We signed the contract with exact same additional line and we were advised by RERA that this over rules their 12 months notice. Our friend is a lawyer, who has contacted RERA as well, just to clarify, and he has got exact same response. If you have specifically agreed with the landlord on a specific notice period, it over rules the RERA's 12 months notice. Since we still thought we were right, my husband we down to the rent committee and was told exact same thing, so really there's only one thing left for us to do...However, your sister might have a case with rent committee (if she files a case), as he's forcing her to pay more, our landlord wants us to move as he's selling the property! Thank you Krebik23, you are so right, my sister called RERA this morning and they said the exact same thing, either she pays the increase or she vacate the apt :( and she called rent committee too they only mentioned that she can file a case which will cost 3.5 % from the current rent amount plus some extras and they said there is a good chance that she will loose it ... so she will not do it ...

you can check Al furjan Villas ,i think you can find a 3BR for around 120k i've heard that the villas are nice there . Also you can check Masakin Al Furjan and rent 3BR apartment for less , they have a nice community pool and gym . Or for that amount of money you can rent a 2 BR apartment in JBR the kids can share one room and you can walk the dog in the plaza

Hi, I've never had it done as I'm too scared but friends do and they use Jaffer Khan or Dr Al Shunnar. Do a search on the forum under botox, but they also do fillers. There is obviously risks with any procedure. Both of these doctors are expensive compared to cobone/groupon offers but they are good at what they do. It's your face, do you want to take a risk? edited by TimTam on 16/03/2013 Thank you for your reply TimTam ... and of course no, i'm not gonna risk my face .. that's why i'm looking for a feedback,i did a search on EW but didn't find much info about fillers especially under- eyes . i've read a lot of good reviews about doctor Jaffer Khan ,but i hope someone will share their actual experience with him or with other doctors in Dubai, and am not looking necessarily for groupon deals, i just thought i'll mention it ,as it might be good, especially that i personally had a good Botox experience there ..

So based on the 7000, rent is 140,000 a year. Seems abit steep. Not furnished, but we have a big two bedroomed in JBR with a sea view and pay 96K, so if the rent she is asking is 140K, then I agree with salsB yeah it must be an old rent ,my friend also is renting 2 bedroom for 95k but the owner wants her out now or increase the rent to 120k and it's unfurnished .. he wanted her out since last year but she managed to stay there by law as he needed to give her 12 months notice ..

So based on the 7000, rent is 140,000 a year. Seems abit steep. actually the rent is 130K which i think is very reasonable it's fully furnished apartment in the center of JBR with all equipment (fridge, cooker, dishwashers, everything is there ) even with a baby cot and high chair :) with amazing full sea view & palm view from the living room and one bedroom and it has a marine view from the seconded bedroom .. i say it's reasonable because i've rented myself few months ago and i pay 125 K for 2 bedroom sea view UNFURNISHED apartment in JBR , i wish i can move to this one :(

Hello Eli1979 ,my friend just bought a house recently in Dubai and i believe she was the only one who paid the commission 2 % from the apartment full price to the agency ,and she paid the transfer fees another 2 % to Dubai land department ,and she told me that the seller had to pay nothing .. or to be exact he only paid some fees for Dubai property maybe 500 DHS (not sure of the amount ) to issue no objection notification (NOC ) .. if you want i cant give you contact number for the agency that helped her .. she said they were great ..very professional people ,maybe they can advertise your apartment for free ..

Hi, I have been going to the lifeline medical centre in JBR, it's on the Walk in the Al Fattan towers on the first floor. The Paediatrician works from 9-5, don't know if she works Fridays but there is a GP there all the time. We have been going there with my two littlies and they have been really good. Hope that helps...tel no: 43991119. Hope your LO is better soon. my friend used to take her two kids there, and i really don't recommend the pediatrician as she always prescribe too many anti-biotech even for a simple flu that could be viral !!

I went to Dr. El Hoshi at the Dental Spa, who was recommended on this site, and I thought he was really good. What I didn't realise beforehand is that he is a visiting Dr. so he only comes to Dubai for 4 or 5 days every 4 or 6 weeks, which is not practical if you need on-going care. I read your post about the perils of fake eyelashes, just as I was considering having it done, I did a few online research as a result of your post and decided against it. So thank you so much for highlighting the problem you had. What I did read online, was dermatologists recommend a medication called Latisse (don't remember if it was a cream or a pill) as a treatment for people who had lost their eyelashes from using fake eyelashes, and also as an option to grow and thicken eyelashes, maybe that is something you could research for yourself. Hope your eyelids get better soon ! Thank you for the info mum2girls, i'm so glad that you got to read my post before having your extensions done, i wish i've read such a review about it before doing mine ..... i've read about Latisse and some other similar products, and it can't be good for me because it also can cause an allergic reaction and make your eyelids swollen and itchy, and it's effect (the extra long and thick lashes )will disappear as soon as you stop using it ) .. so be careful if you're considering it yourself .. thank you again :)

Sandy, to thicken your eyelashes and for their growth apply castor oil on your eyelashes every night before bed. I did this for a while and had no side effects. Google it for extra info. All the best! Thank you so much for the advice Swissroll, i'm definitely gonna try it when my eyelids heals from the Blepharitis :(

Hi Sandy, I have been getting eyelash extensions for a few months also - and have stopped, because I can also see that my real eyelashes are just dissapearing. Same thing happened to me where it was just a whole of fake eyelashes glued toghether hanging by a thread on the whats left of your real ones! They do look amazing, but in the long run it can't be good for your eyelashes....so I've decided only on special occassions with they go back on now! My eyelashes have grown back pretty quickly, but are thinner than normal..I think it will take another month until there good again. Good luck, and don't worry I'm sure they will sprout back soon! (just use a bit of eyeliner on your eye...for me it looks like I have more eyelashes this way until they grown back!) Thank you for the reply Poomba, unfortunately i cant's use eyeliner or any kind of make up because i think i have Blepharitis (Eyelid Inflammation) so i'm just hoping that i won't loose the few lashes that i still have :( edited by Sandy123 on 28/10/2012

Hello Ladies, i had my eyelash extension done 5 month ago in a very reliable Salon in Dubai (one of the most famous salons here ), i did a lot of research before doing it ,all said it's totally safe as long as you go to a professional technician so i did ,i paid 600 DHS for a full set , and kept refilling on time every two weeks for 200 DHS , after a period of time my left eyelid became really itchy so i went to the technician and she checked it and said its all right and it's probably some fake lashes scratching my eyelid, the itchiness went away for a while to come back later in a severe way, i woke up one morning and my both eyelids were very red and swollen, and when i checked my eyelashes i found out that they were all glued together !!! it was horrifying, i went directly to the salon, and when they checked it they advised me to remove the extension right away, and then i found out that i practically lost most of my natural lashes (they were all glued together and it was impossible to remove the glue without pulling them out) !!! now i look horrible with few lashes left (very short and weak with a huge gaps ) and the swollen red eyelids :( does anyone know how much time i need to get my natural lashes back (i really hope they grow back again ) ?? i've been reading about eyelash conditioners that helps to grow your eyelashes , but i don't have enough courage to try, any advice ?? Thanx alot
