PO made my day today! Passport has gone off for printing!! Applied for baby's first passport on 10th May. Should be with us within 7 days. This was after contacting Mr Pugh, my MP, faxing PO medical notes and ringing PO weekly. The system still says its at examination stage by the way. Anyway good luck all!

If you go to speak to a Captain they do reduce the fine to either 15 or 25 dhs per day. Oh really? Thank you for the tip, just what I needed to hear :)

Ouch! Had no idea it was that much. Hoping some leniency will be shown when the passport finally arrives. Thanks for the info ladies.

Sara k mine is about the same time as yours... Did you get a reply from your email to Paul Pugh? I got one asking for my passport details so they could follow up, but haven't heard anything yet.... When are you due to travel? Quick question to these who have their passports back... Did you know dhl were going to deliver? Did you get an email or phone call, or did they just come? Tia edited by JShepherd on 18/06/2014 I had no reply from Mr Pugh to both my emails. My MP has suggested obtaining an ETD but as we have not booked yet I'm thinking that will be a very last resort. Its a first passport for baby so understandably will take longer than a renewal and hoping it will be back in the next week or so. Did anyone else see Mr Pugh on sky news yesterday bought in for questioning by the select committee....he said he won't accept the bonus this year to add to his £104,000. How very noble :)

Mine was sent 10th May opened on 15th and only now is being 'processed'. Does anyone know how long this stage takes and what is the next stage? This is tiring work...have contacted MP, Mr Pugh, PO, sky news and still no passport for baby:(

Got my son's passport back this morning, 5 weeks 3 days after they received it. Sent 2 emails to Paul Pugh, his secretary replied on 10th June saying it was going to issue and print and it arrived this morning. Much quicker than I'd expected-wonder what would have happened without the email..... Congrats!!! Was this your sons first passport or a renewal?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I was advised (as baby had severe jaundice) to top up and I feel baby sleeps longer with it although that might just be my lack of confidence in my milk as he gets v colicky with both. My milk supply is good maybe I should just breast feed as my baby is telling me!

I had my baby this week after being induced at 38wks. Cannot recommend Dr Anne Phillips enough. She was a thorough professional and delivered my healthy baby boy without the need for a c section. I felt really cared for by her particularly during the labour where it mattered most. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Anne at City Hospital as with all the complications I had, she knew what she was doing and her plan to deliver my baby healthy and early worked! I am now enjoying my bundle of joy xx

Aaaw thank you!! I didn't attend the meeting but am referring to the booklet given out at the meeting. There is a list of stationary they recommend the students to buy. I bought the 'Casio FX-85GTPLUS Scientific Calculator' from Amazon while I was in uk for around £8 Sorry I don't know where to buy it from here - perhaps other ladies will know....

Allison - Thank you for your feedback. I have checked Dr Anne's profile out and she does seem v experienced. Read good reviews on City hospital too so look forward to visiting them soon. Not long to go for your delivery, wishing you all the best! .

I've now seen Dr Amal around 3 times. I haven't found her friendly/caring/interested in my pregnancy to be very honest with you. There is no reason for me to choose her as the one who I really want to deliver my baby as I have just felt like a statistic at my appointments. The only reason I go to her so far is as she's v local to where I live. Thanks for your feedback ladies.

Hello all Just wondered if anyone knows if it is safe to dye ones roots whilst expecting? I just thought that with all the chemicals it might not be such a good idea? Thanks!

Thanks ladies for your experiences, I'm feeling the exact same way which is why I wanted your feedback. When I have told her about my pregnancy problems/symptoms I feel they have been brushed aside and been told 'its normal' which it may well be but it's a good indicator of how caring/concerned a Dr is and there's no time to build a rapport when the Dr doesn't seem interested in her patient. My search shall go on and I am researching your suggestions. Thank you x

Thank you for your very reassuring reply! I was worried as my friends say one should have a good rapport with your dr as they stay with you throughout the delivery. I have yet to have that with this dr maybe with time that will change as I'm 17 weeks at the mo. It is very confusing here having to choose a gyno as in the uk you just get who you are given on the day! Anyway, thank you again you've been really helpful manp x

Hi all, expecting a baby in September and wanted to know what type of washing powder mums use here? It's very hard to find a non bio one here as mostly what I see in the shops are the bio powders. Is it safe to use for babies clothes or is it best to try and find non bio? Thanks in advance x
