If i had a wig it would be gone today as birdie came down on me scratched the head and flew a bit further to watch me. After we back from a holiday i hope they ll be done with this generation and i get those holes in ceiling fixed (holes made by our maintenance company trying to fix outside lighting). Thanks again

Hello, as in subject i need to remove the bird's nest out of my balcony. Don't want to harm them but the presence getting beyond annoying. They have been there for a while and i did't mind them apart from "rise and shine" wake up call as soon as sun up, but now that they had babies (i believe by sound of it as can't see the nest in the "roof") they'be become very aggressive and when i am on the balcony hanging clothes etc they trying to attack. Main concern is for children, my 2yo getting "sweeped" regularly when he runs out. Anyone knows of any service taking care of birds? I have heard they protected in Dubai. Research shows the species we have is Common Mynah. Thanks for your help.

Not that she was on the skinny side either :D So, dont take it personally it all comes from lack of culture.. All babies are beautiful just because they are x Also been to coffee morning once its **** but i was lucky to meet a friend, so its worth venture out

Have recent experience at emirates driving institute.. Not too bad but have not tried others so no comparison. One advice: do not go for vip course. Makes no difference just much more money. So i changed course after 1st set of lessons. Have gone thru 3 instructors - all average. Passed from 2 nd attempt: its question of luck/ examiner mood that particular day. 1 st attempt 26 faults (12 is still a pass) within 6 min of driving (really?!) they were not pointed out to me. The report looked like piece of S. 2nd attempt- no faults, pass. Go figure. At my 2nd time had girl in car who put wrong gear in, hit the curb and still got pass. Anyways, good luck to your daughter.

I am no expert, but thought the same a while ago and later heard that people over 60 would not be able get/ renew the working visa? If thats true that would explain "young population" of Dubai.. Just some tourists..

Recently we bought a pair of size 14 for my husband (and they had 1 size up!) at shop called shoe solution, dubai mall - opposite exit of waitrose.. Shoes didnt look that appealing but sandals were fine, he very happy with them! Some european brands.. Happy shopping!

Thx AnonDubai! Looks like it was a very fortunate outcome in your case! I' ll hang in here and see how things turn out for us, but i dont want any unnecessary stress of weaning, will have enough with trying to sleep train my boy..I understand pregnant mums who do wean though since it is at times highly uncomfortable to feed when breast becomes sensitive due to hormonal changes.

Thx Kiwispiers, I am inclined to continuing bf as i certainly see my son not ready to stop nursing, even though with low supply now it is not providing him much nutrition and he is doing well with solids. It is more for emotional well being and bonding. There is definitely weird attitute to breastfeeding toddlers, though i dont breastfeed in any public places since he is about 6 months old but even the way relatives ask from time to time Is he still breastfeeding ??! makes you wonder what's wrong with people if they take it so personal when it is none of their business.. Anyway, thx again for sharing your experience and tips for FB.

Hello! Look up on google or youtube device called NoseFrida, it is basically "nose sucker" as i call it. Saved me lots of times! When my son (now 15 months) has any congestion i do it before bed..sometimes during the night if i hear problem reappears and nose blocked again. I prefer saline sprays to drops as it is more effective with washing mucus out. Try Tonimer baby.. I bought my NoseFrida at db babies when son was 1 month as well. Saw it in some pharmacies but rare. Marina mall favorite things boutique had them too. 2 nd floor. Around 60 dh i think it was. Plus stock some filters. Personally i would put ac back to "normal" like 20-21C (healthy "baby" temp is 18-22C as far as i remember) and maybe even buy humidifier (still plan to myself) it is dry air not T causing drying of mucus in baby's nose. Make sure you keep your LOs nose moisturized for now and use saline drops often 'cause if mucus dries out it makes it easy for any infection to set in on unprotected area.

Hi Kellyjane, they should backdate it, so yes they get insurance after baby has got a birth certificate but you can claim back what you spent from day 1. (In our experience with Aetna)

Hi! I delivered with Dr Raj this May, and it was good! I also read good reviews about her pro-natural approach and made sure i am with her. I switched to her at 30 wks and went forth to deliver at the end of week 41! I dont think many drs in Dubai are as relaxed as Dr Raj about it, we had appointments every two wks even at later stages of pregnancy and even when i went past my due date there was no rush, no suggestions to induce etc. we just monitored baby's well being.. Anyway, on telling this you also need to understand that dr is someone who basically comes to "catch" the baby! Most of time you spend in labour is with other L&D staff who works in shifts and you would have no influence over it.. I delivered at 3 am, and yes Dr Raj arrived personally in the middle of the night to deliver baby but it is midwife, Jessy her name was who did all work before my son was about to crown. Mind you it wasnt too much work with me as i didnt request any medications, pain relief and objected the continuous monitoring, so we agreed i will call when i need help and i was left in piece then. She would come in the room every now and then just to ask if i am ok. This and next shifts were perfect, subtle and not intrusive. Its the next shift in AHD who has NFI of how things should be in hospitals. Quiet (!) is the key word. They would come in and ask whatever stupid questions they had to ask on top of their voice even though my husband and 1 day old baby would be sleeping and never ever close the door when they left. Honestly, i got up and closed door every time they would leave. That made me wild :-) we left hospital one day earlier than could stay with package (my son just turned 36 hrs) as this was becoming ennoying over the edge. So, sorry from stepping away from subject! Dr Raj is a nice, confident and relaxed lady who wont be haunting you with unnecessary tests and procedures and who trusts in our female nature if you want my opinion. Delivery itself probaby took 20 min, she would advise when to push and when not and help baby out. Then wait for placenta. As simple as that. If you plan for natural delivery, try and get as much information as possible. Knowing what happens to your body stage by stage takes fear away and helps with pain. I swear by Sears "the birth book" i was still checking out my labour stages with it till we left for hospital..and i got there at 8 cm.. Its just as informative as a book about birth can get and i read a few.. Good luck with whatever Dr and way of delivery you decide! Just know once your baby is in your arms all what happened before is non existant :-) otherwise women would never get baby Nbr 2,3,4... :-)))))

Hi sb85! Don't panic please, all will be fine i am sure. Copy DubaiCat on witnesses for the father of child. We are in similar situation and might go thru same, previously done research shows that this is normally settled after bringing witnesses to court. The difference with us is we entered the country already married, so the "crime" of getting pregnant while not married was committed while we were not residents yet. But since our marriage was in January and baby born just couple days ago ( married around 25 wks into pregnancy ) we expecting obtaining BC might not be easy. Anyway, stay positive and keep us posted! Stressing not good for neither you nor baby !! X

Hi mommies, I am In :) My dear boy Elijah was born on 9 th of may, one week late, but no sign of being post mature, perfect little boy. Bringing him into the world took 24 hrs of active labor, had prelabor contractions the day (or rather night) before as well. Expected it to be quicker to be honest but i see nothing is quick with my boy :) now read your posts girls on bf and him eating long times can stay on nipple for hour or more, that for two sides and little naps in between for few seconds.. I wonder do they learn feeding continuously or that's his pattern? Tickling him too to wake up and eat but still he pauses a lot. Someone before was posting on LLL meet ups - any info appreciated, think i will need some advice to improve his eating and my feeding habits :) now he eats whenever, every 20, every one hour or two or sleeps three hrs or more unless i wake him to feed as dont want him go longer than 3 hrs unfed. Well today i slept in and him slept like a baby (hehe) for 4,5 hrs!! Well as you see BF is my only concern now :) Coming back to birth, managed to go unmedicated and having baths at home for hours helped thru much of early exhausting pain, i only consented to going to hospital when it was really overwhelming but at that stage it took husband at least hour to pack me in the car from my bath, half hr drive then walk from AHD doors to labor & delivery ward another half hr so by the time i got assessed ( with much resistance from my side to get into bed ) i was already at 9 cm , still took hrs for my boy slowly to descend but it was mostly lull time compared to transition contractions, or me was just out of my mind by that time, anyway i was very unsupportive of any interaction from hospital side :) and only let them near when my boy was crowning, 20 min pushing waiting for contractions to come and he was out perfect boy, we still stare at him with husband like mental cannot believe how cute he came out :) We discharged from hospital one day early as it was starting to get annoying going thru their routines the most hated is his blood tests every 6 hrs as they were expecting jaundice because we are 0(-)me and A(+) him.. All was good apart from those two little feet getting too many needles and stupid "cars" bandaids which are pain to take off even for my adult skin. Anyway we run away :) home since yesterday afternoon and doing great !! :) Ok girls we need to settle in and try and make it out to meet this bunch of "april" babies .. Some early some late hehe Xxx

Hi Girls, any news tonight? :) Philly & Maxmistry great to hear from you, keep giving us this baby insider info it is precious ! :) For those with bumps still - i remembered something today that i very well forgot :) Early in pregnancy i read that drinking raspberry (leaves) tea in last weeks of pregnancy helps preparing uterus and cervix for birth, might be one of midwife tales, but a long held one for sure. It flashed today when standing in front of herbal teas shelf at organic shop.. Might be too late to start but i am giving it a go switching my normal tea to this raspberry one. Actually they say on the pack as well that it is beneficial for women health. Ok i am having my cup of tea now and going to bed :) Good night! Waiting for news from you :)

Hahaha funny these dreams eh? Me, i didn't have any pregnant or crazy dreams lately.. Or hardly any at all.. Oh wait there is one, when you sleep and dream that you need go for pee, then wake up..surprise! you really gotta go right now :) Only once early in my 1st trimester i dreamed of bathing a baby boy - i told my husband then it is going to be a boy and he kept arguing for girl until he knew the ultrasound results (that time i went alone) and nevertheless at my 32 wks scan (!!) he asked dr to show him it was Really a boy, hehehe Pinkbutterfly - very much hope you DO go into labor i don't like this thread stats ! But as you mention of course if cs will be the safest or only option - there is nothing really to regret about it.. Anyway, relax..relax..relax is all you should be doing now!! My husband back tomorrow night (i am glad i didn't have to use any of B C D plans on who is driving me to hospital :) ) and he staying on the ground from now and till baby is at least two weeks old.. That was our agreement, i actually hope he stays longer.. With his job he is lucky to be able to enlist on another faraway project if we make him too sleep-deprived and needing a break hehe Lyndy re car seats Hot issue :) which one you have? I have a cabriofix and was thinking as well of buying a "summer cover" for it.. Supposedly it makes baby feel cooler and sweat less, but in fact it is a towel fitted for the seat!! So i should try and sit on a towel when we driving somewhere and see if it helps :) maybe helps by absorbing sweat - and this was their idea of making it towel-like...oh well at least you can wash it often and keep seat clean.

Hi Girls, Pinkbutterfly - even though dr is your friend - are you comfortable with c-section decision (and not having shower - sorry for joking) ?? They say epidurals have side effect of dropping the bp considerably and while in most moms they counteract it maybe in your case it is just what needed to deliver vaginally..? Some women prefer to have c-s actually, i guess it takes the responsibility off your shoulders, but the recovery - is it really worth it.. and drs love it as well because it is very straightforward, no waiting or relying on mother nature.. Sorry to hear your bp is high :( :( hope it stabilizes though.. But good news 2cm dilation already - and you not in labor even.. Good chances are you ll be half way dilated already by time you notice your contractions :) As for moms - yes they funny, while i was visiting mine for a month before coming over here, she also expressed her views on my "too often" showers and hairwashing :) which she thinks is washing off the "natural skin protection" i can imagine how the protection would smell and look esp here in dubai after couple of days hehe sorry to be gross. Mrs Abdalla, yep good idea with the bag, saves time going home! Was reading another birth story today, and one girl actually had her waters break in gush right when she was getting on the dr's chair for check up.. thus wetting his feet all over !! :) the dr then cancelled the checkup and sent hem to L&D straight.. That was really funny i thought.. Not for dr's shoes maybe :) Good luck everyone.. I am 38 weeks in two days, still hoping to walk another week at least, but really.. Two would be perfect ( baby..hear me now ?! :) ) edited by alenka on 16/04/2013

Hi Pinkbutterfly - if sale did't move you to buy anything then that's it !! You got everything :) Your mom is funny - following her ways we must assume your own lungs are in very good shape now :) they from different generation - a lot of things that are normal to us for them look as spoiling but wait till you get your mom to visit you and see her grandchild - that is when real spoiling starts !! Hehe me already thinking of my speech to in-laws for coming xmas (yes don't laugh) about food that i don't want to be given to my son, he will be at that age when they start looking at what is in your plate and trying everything reachable.. As for maternity-ish dresses, me too looked thru the wardrobe lastnight and there was nothing really to go home from hospital..as belly doesn't disappear as quick as two days we better stick to maternity fashion :) not that i was thinking that at time of buying but going home, yes i though it could work for after hospital. I am a bit nervous though thinking of summer.. You can't always walk the malls only, so i guess baby will have to adjust for early morning walks outside whatever the temperature is it can't be too bad at 7-8 am (i hope!!!) the thought of staying home for say..month..makes me claustraphobic :(

Evening Ladies! Punkbutterfly - how s today's shopping - anything interesting? Which babyshop you went to, i heard it is only in babyshops that are not part of centrepoint, is it? 39 weeks - is very close don't overdo this walking like crazy - you have to be rested for the big day!! (Which is soon !!!) Me finally packed the hospital suitcase only to find out i want to take plenty of stuff that is still in use and can't be packed just yet :) so i made a packing list #2 :) I did a stupid thing today - bought another maternity dress!! I know makes no sense for two weeks, i guess because i am so tired to feel big and all-round as soon as i saw something Slimming it was all over :) well maybe it won't hang too bad while i will be still round-ish after delivery, i shall wait and see.. Mrs Abdalla, re pumping - the only reason i would go for pump is really if i wanted to go out and leave baby or had to go to work, so that i could continue breastfeeding. I would think twice before pumping while feeding the baby in parallel. The more you pump the more milk is produced as your brain just thinks that baby is really hungry and needs more and more. If you 100% breastfeed on demand (and not watching clock) - yes that includes picking up crying babies :) then your milk supply adjusts to the needs of the baby. One piece of advice for when milk coming in given by midwife at antenatal class is to limit your liquids intake for that day (usually 2nd or 3rd day after birth) limit is like 600-800 ml for the day (including soups if you have any) that only applies for this 1st milky day as milk can come in very quick which causes this engorging. She also advised to express some by hand if it gets painful - but only as much as brings comfort and lets baby latch on easier not really drain it. Anyway if the need for pump appear while you already started with BF you can always buy it later..either still at hospital pharmacy or online when you home.. Lyndy great to hear from you! How is your little girl doing, been nice to her mom? :) Yes would be great to meet up later.. Btw when everybody is thinking of taking these babes out?? Out like for a walk / mall walk etc.. I am not sure really in my home country everybody walking say from week 2 but temperatures are quite different to here.. On the other hand babies were ok with +36.6 for 9 months why would + 30..35 now bother them.....?

Hi Ladies, hope everyone's well! Boysenberry, thx for dropping in :-) how did you know your LO not getting enough? Did she scream hungry after feeds? Did you give second breast straight after? I believe it is normal for newborns loose some weight before they start gaining - they on the whole new diet plan! Also their stomachs tiny and can handle about 30 ml at a time, i am reading.. Anyway, i believe all babes are custom made for their mums we just need to work on syncing :-) Pinkbutterfly - lucky for you to have your MIL kicking you out for activities :-) i wish i had someone not letting me indulge on sweets and chocs!! Although i been a good girl and went for yoga workout as well today.. Wow it is getting so hot even 10 min walk around noon gave me headache ( even under umbrella - anyone told me i will be walking under umbrella with no rain - i would have laughed ) Can't imagine yet what the summer will be like - home prison with a baby??? As for my birth plan, hehe i did scribble some points today on a piece of paper, maybe more for myself and go through it with husband, so that he knows when to step in if i will be lazy communicating to hospital stuff. It is not the question of trusting the doctor for me - in fact i expect her to fly in only to catch the baby, as i see how busy her schedule is when coming for appointments.. So most of work during first stage of labor and before pushing is done by nurses/ midwives who never saw you and not sure what your preferences are.. Anyway, yours is different case and if your doctor so close to you over the past years i am sure she won't leave you alone.. Coming back to plug topic :-) i wouldn't be hoping for it to regenerate!! Most women go in labor within three days to a week after losing one.. It is funny those compliments from loving husbands and although we might be most beautiful in their eyes even these bulky days, i don't know what's wrong with my own eyes !! :-) i am still not out of habit browsing some online fashion shops with size setting As If i am not aware of these +14 kg i have at the moment to my pre pregnancy weight!!! I guess it is magic mirror effect :-) oh well i very much hope it will not take too long to loose.. (She said eating another chocolate sweet!) Actually quite amazed at number of opportunities to exercise with small babies in Dubai.. It is a very baby friendly place i notice, i am glad i moved.. Back to reading my birth book - 50 pages left and i will consider myself an educated first timer ! :-) edited by alenka on 13/04/2013

Evening Ladies, hmm am i bored? Excited? Guess both..few posts a day - wow hehe Mrs Abdalla- you welcome darling, hopefully you will feel better, just think it is so little time left to your due date- use it for your advantage :) sleep sleep sleep :) I also noticed change in couple of last weeks - that new pressure of the baby head really low, makes it really urgent for all the toilet trips. Before i was flying now don't run around as fast, but luckily don't waddle either. Long time since i am uncomfortable on my back but now even a little reclining - like sitting relaxed on couch makes me short of breath. So it is sitting upright, walking or laying on the side left :) I had a cinderella day - washing and ironing baby clothes, some new that i bought myself lately, some given down from SIL' son early years. Now considering giving half of that stuff away- any idea who could need it? Baby boy clothes in range 0-2 yrs, i just don't need that much, some i don't like, some is too warm for summer weather here and by Dubai "winter" he ll grow out of it, and...not the least important, i want to leave space for my own baby shopping as he grows!! I guess all the service personnel around Dubai all single as cant bring their families with their wages, so i am wondering what to do with all the unwanted baby stuff...... Ideas welcome Good night lady-bumps :)

Mrs Abdalla, just wanted to share a couple of things that work for me, maybe you try them out, even if no positive result, it will not hurt! Me, i often find my belly square especially in middle of night when up for pee (which makes sense as too much laying down passively not so nice for baby correct positioning)- and i don't like this square belly, as it hints baby turned or trying to, and not the way i want him to be!! :) then i am doing pelvic tilts that was taught at prenatal yoga, on your fours you inhale with head up- don't arch back, keep it neutral., exhale with arched up back, a cat like pose - with head going down. I am sure there will be better descriptions of pelvic tilts if you google it :) If i am not up to tilts, lazy or sleepy, just standing on all fours swaying a bit gives space to baby to relocate and makes the belly nice and round again :) Another thing i do for ribs when it gets really uncomfortable- baby feet playing there or just no space for a good deep breath, you stand in the door opening your arms 90 degrees bent and at your shoulders level, you basically hang forward in this opening a bit, both lifting your ribs up and opening chest, all with the help of your body weight and gravity. But that is a "lonely" option, if you have someone around who can be your partner - it is much nicer just sit on the floor comfortably leg crossed arms up and bent and fingers locked behind your head, have your partner stand behind you and push you by the elbows upwards and backwards same time with his knee between your shoulder blades helping you open up. I hope it is descriptive enough - really simple things but make big difference in how you feel.. Good luck !

Hi Girls! Pink Butterfly, good you keeping it active going for swim etc! It will start sooner than you think, your cervix dilating already which the plug passing and contractions showing..how did they feel btw?? What is your plan - do you want to go to hospital early in labor or wait till it is well established and undeniably progressing? With these "false alarms" which not false really just the rehearsals our body doing, it can put woman in situation when she is panicked to stay at home and goes early but at hospital labor stalls, then drs do their best to get it going, which i personally want to try and avoid and go as natural as i can. Oh well, first baby, you never know what you up to really until you get there. At least i want to try and avoid the medicated birth. What is your view of your ideal birth? I find it reassuring just visualizing it as i go to sleep for example, of how i want it to happen, trying to picture birth in detail, still no birth plan on paper though, i might get down to it and do my homework for next appointment, just for the piece of mind maybe. I do not know myself when should i go in in case it starts, my mum had both her births very quick and even with 1st baby it was all over in 4 hrs after the contractions started, the 2nd baby quicker still... There is a tendency of daughters taking it after mothers, they say, and as much as i want to stay home longer time i dont want deliver in car either !! Heheee

Good night Pinkbutterfly- wow that could mean anytime soon really you must be all excited !! I've been a lazy bum- could have scrolled down to see you due 22 instead of asking, myself due 2nd of may my dr thinks (although she says she is Sure i deliver earlier) my personal count said 28th april, and my previous dr 25th, oh well, who knows really apart from baby of course :) Feeling good - just keep shifting my chest as these big feet of my boy seem to be always right under ribs- not the most pleasant sensation but is funny, i am calling him big shoes today :) just like his dad. Been out and about today, to some pharmacies to get the baby toiletries (cleansing body&hair gel, soap and massage oil, just the basics from mustela) - see i am packing slowly!! :) yesterday got some snacks for hospital stay hehe as if it is #1 necessity. Thinking of actually packing small (cabin size) suitcase instead of bag - at least it has wheels in case i am going alone (which i hope not!!!) i actually always take it for short trips - why not consider 2-3 nights out at hospital as a short trip hey:) Do you still walking like crazy to speed it up or taking it easy now? Been a hot day today, where are you walking about btw? Take care and drop us a line.. Fingers crossed we all go in at desired time :) Star007 defo would be nice to have our own little baby expo - april addition :) to exchange experience.. Or lack of it !! Hehe Stay well ladies!

Oh no my post disappeared :) ok retype Pinkbutterfly- it seems we are the few who got time on our hands to post yet:) everyone else got their hands on babies :) hehe When is your due date btw? Is it getting hard for you now or you just excited to meet your baby boy? Yes in here is a boy too, we should start looking into making up a soccer team of our april boys :) Exam - i assume it is normal internal exam, to check if the cervix is ripened and ready for labour.. And by how it looks/ feels they can tell how soon you might go in labor..It becomes soft and relaxed closer to date as opposed to really tight earlier..Anyway all i know is my friend was running around still week before her due date, booking mani and pedi then went to see her doc, who did something down there :) and she was in labor same evening, giving birth early in the morning. And with my dr- as soon as she heard husband away she was like ok lets do it next time..i asked why - is there chance it can stimulate labor and she said hmm yeah :) so it is not a 100% yes I guess intercourse ( frequently practiced :) ) will have same effect, massage that is!! My cousine was educated as midwife-nurse and she is positive that helps stimulating labor, only i guess it works when baby is ready, and just needs a little push from his cozy place. Reading a book by Sears btw and interesting fact is that hormones in charge for labor are all the same that are produced while having *** too, oxytocin the most important of them to get you going. Good reading that book i hope i have time to finish :) I think i saw belly bandit in destination maternity.. The ah pharmacy has some pharmacy like bands without big words and brands and called smth crazy like FM28DX (Lol!), they come in many sizes, so it will be good to ask nurse to measure you and get some to try on for perfect fit.. Going to shop now and trying get the right size might be not as successful, and later there won't be time for shopping !!:) i think i will go for NoName but fit band.. If at all - should ask what dr thinks of it anyway... Take care Good luck to everyone with bump still

Hi Ladies and Little Gentlemen :) New mommys how is it going?? Busy eh? I had my appointment today and was expecting to be examined as agreed with dr before but she said she d better next time, as she doesnt want me to deliver while my husband is away hehe! There must be something special about it as a friend of mine told she delivered same day she was examined at City though it was also a bit early.. Anyway, dr said the head is quite low and she reckons the baby will come a bit earlier.. I need to make sure he is snug there and still staying for couple of weeks!! Looked in the AH pharmacy today and saw quite a few handy baby and mommy things, so in case i forget anything can always dial direct from L&D :-) BTW is anyone planning to use/ using post partum bandage?? Heard it is good to help uterus contract to its normal size in the first wks after delivery and also helps put tummy tissues in place after all that stretching for 9 months.. Babyboy- i agree with Pinkbutterfly no one will take better care of your baby than you do, so it is good idea to free yourself of all the housework instead of getting baby helper.. That way you will get to know each other quicker and all the baby cues they use to communicate their needs.. The trained staff is trained for some generic abstract babies that exist in books, your baby is unique !! :) Good luck whichever way you choose though ! Take care all edited by alenka on 09/04/2013

Oh Boy!! Max, what a story, i am glad you and Lewis (agree with Pinkbutterfly- the name is cool!) are coming home tomorrow, hope the recovery will be quick and Lewis is being good boy for his mommy at this hard time. These maternity towels & disposable underwear - do they provide at AH.., at charge? Am still thinking if worth buying some or just get hospital stuff (suppose they will have?) these maternity towel packs are huge to pack.. One more "?" about hospital, do you need to pay a delivery package at AH or is it pay as you go? I still didn't do hospital tour yet (and will i have time?! :)37 weeks this thursday) was planning this past weekend but weekend happened to be another story.... Lyndy you sound amazing! Get back on bike and running how soon after c-section? I would expect it be months before you can exercise for real and that is what i heard from cousin& friends who experienced one. That surgeon must be a real magician, glad that you feeling so well, and maybe it is also because you were very fit beforehand?? They say sporty ppl recover really quick. New mommys - any extra tips on breastfeeding start? My mom was funny the other day on skype, asked me if i am preparing to breastfeed.. I am like.. if preparing means rubbing tits with rough towel - then i am not (yes i read this old-days advice somewhere) She actually agreed that towel wouldn't help her either, she reckons it was worse than birth pain - those first weeks of baby chewing on nipples.. Well they say it is all about correct latching, but back those days nobody cared to show her what is correct etc and she was 20 years old with 1st bub. Do the nurses/ midwives pay attention to this? To show what and how..and how to express milk if necessary.. I used to milk a goat once on schoolhols in village not sure if that skill will come back heheee Pinkbutterfly - i might reconsider my craving for sushi :) or at least give it some time.. unless you can advise on some safe sushi venues in dubai :) that past weekend made me extra cautios with food.. Oh yes, like you Lyndy, i was sneaky too with my food throughout pregnancy that including blue cheeses and camambert or oysters once.. But seriously those oysters i ll never forget :) was in Nice and made me so sick that i couldn't look at anything fish-y for a month afterwards.. This time i am unsure what was the cause - we went out with husband two nights in row beginning of week, monday was massive event at atlantis (didnt hear any poisoning reports on news :) ) and tuesday just dinner with friends at jbr - lebanese place.. So normally i would trust the food, my husband also was fine - but me - i felt unwell whole week thinking what is going on until friday it peaked really bad, had major stomach spasms, toilet runs and sickness with 10 min intervals lasting nearly whole day and i gave up on running to bathroom just throwed few towels on the floor to sit around and stayed there cause really it was not worth coming back to bed for less then 5 min.. My husband tried to insist on going to hospital, but it is at least 30 min trip, i am saying i ll have everything twice before we even get half way :) so he might have thought of new car and gave up tugging me out.. I sent text to dr asking for any safe drugs that i could take, but she replied back saying go to emergency :) anyway, good old active coal done its business slowly, next day was much better with occasional spasms and runs and today it is nearly ok.. Oh well that was a clean up for the body :) these two days was only eating dry bread and some boiled rice and drinking tea, but today ventured for some veggie food and was ok.. Watch your plate mommys!! And apologies if spoiled someone's appetite for tonite's dinner:) Tuesday i am having appointment so hopefully will hear on when to expect my baby:) dr told last time she could tell more after she ll examine me.. We dont want this baby to be popping his head out early, my husband went on trip (he said last time!!) and i am alone till week 38! But just in case..getting plan B ready and going to pack my bag one of these days... Gilrs stay well, those with babies - keep us updated with all the baby-how-to-tips :) Hope we can organise a meet up some time later in May when all babies ready to be showed off :) edited by alenka on 07/04/2013 edited by alenka on 07/04/2013

Hello Ladies! Max - wishing you the best birth experience possible, wow that is a short notice - to have a baby Tomorrow( oh today already!! ) keeping fingers crossed for you and your little baby xx Please let us know how it went and if any insight for those following you at AH :) Lyndy! Congrats on your new and early arrival, thx for sharing details and hope all is good now and your section will recover quickly. Babyboy - My due date by dr is 2nd of May actually but when i was counting it myself it was 28 th april that is why i am here with april ladies :) although (!) the 1st dr i was seeing in Moscow before moved here had it 25 april :) Well the truth is only the baby knows when he is due.. So i am just waiting patiently, and honestly cant see why you are so in hurry MrsAbdalla :) i am too enjoying it to hurry, the baby is already with you kicking all the time and you will never be as close again as to share same body, still you can sleep, eat whatever you want, go and have workouts anytime, have a glass of wine occasionally :) and spoil your husband a little with attention while you can as after baby is born your priorities change :) Me, i just hope that baby will wait till after 28th, as it is my own birthday by coincidence (and 30th), and i deserve a nice sushi dinner and a drink of wine :) If he doesn't want to wait.. Oh well, japanese take away and i hear there are tests available for checking alcohol in breast milk hehehehe As for baby bazaar last saturday, we probably arrived too late for any good stuff as they say you have to be there early, and we were around 1pm, not that we really were looking for something just out of curiosity, and i didnt see anything really appealing to buy, half of tables were entrepreneurs as well so not 100% pre-loved market.. I guess it depends really on what sellers you get on particular day, some bazaars probably were really full of good deals..just not this one. Keep well ladies and all the best
