Hi I am not sure you are seeking an agent but we looked at Al Raha Gardens and dealt with Crompton Partners.Their number is 02 4417780 if that helps? They also have properties in Khalifa City A & B. Good luck!

Hi Newbie2AD I have just relocated from Dubai a few months ago and I underestimated how expensive AD's rental properties were. We looked at a few compounds and for your budget, you won't find much unless you are off the island (as in a villa). The issue of cost of district cooling is one you need to consider at Al Reef and Hydra. We looked at Raha Gardens but you would be looking at $170-$200+ there. Khalifia City A is ok too and schools around there are apparently worth looking at. You just have to decide what you are after and where and narrow it down from there. I have a good real estate agent who may help you with a furnished apartment if you are interested (he was so patient with us) and he is honest. He shows you lots of options but he is thorough. His name is Vitaly at Demar Property Management and his contact details are 050 220 2677. Good luck!

Dr Talal Farha of Farha Childrens Clinic is great and we are fussy parents. He is truly a specialist and he has a special interest in paediatric cardiology. His clinic is in Dubai Healthcare City and he takes his time with you, is thorough and is a professional with your baby/child. His contact number is 043612404. I would definitely recommend him.

The German Heart Centre in Dubai Healthcare City is the best. My husband has been treated there by Dr Kallmayer, Dr Boerner & Dr Wild. All three senior cardiologists are from Germany and their facility and care is world class. I would recommend them to anyone who is seeking a cardiologist in UAE.

I too am fussy with my hair and swear by Version Francaise at the Marriott in The Marina. Try Alex or Corine (both French trained and the owners) as either colour and cut extremely well.

Hi KenzaB Just want to add - I had to beg for someone to show me how to breast feed and when they sent the lactation consultant she was very brief and said she would be back. It was not until I made a fuss on our last day she came (not her fault) but the excuse was they were short staffed. This was one of many issues I had with the nursing staff. I passed on this feedback to the Director of Nursing & suggested they needed to get back to basics using a checklist? to make sure all mothers are showed or reminded of how to do certain things such as breast/bottle feeding, bathing, nappy changing and so forth especially first time mums. This was one of many unfortunate things I experienced as I expected so much more from a hospital such as the American. edited by Anissa11 on 24/04/2013 edited by Anissa11 on 30/04/2013

The City hospital over the American Hospital hands down. I regret not booking the City Hospital and had my baby at the American as a friend referred me there who had her baby 2 years ago. The American has fantastic facilities and my obst was fabulous. However I found some of the nursing staff in the mat ward lacked basic listening skills and at times a duty of care (we nearly lost our baby as a result). I complained to senior management and it took them months to follow up my complaint. Do your research and undertake the tours before you book.

Hi Dr Rosalie Sant at Primavera Clinic at Dubai Healthcare City is great, would recommend her. I had a complicated pregnancy (preeclampsia & placenta abruption) and had an emergency c-section and Dr Rosalie was fabulous.

Hi I had thrush throughout my pregnancy which was awful & used Daktarin cream & ovules. I was also sceptical but it was fine but I think also cutting out yeast products helped. Bread changed to spelt bread & pasta was a no no. I think in my case the pregnancy brought it on as I had never had it before.
