Agencies charge landlords not tenants anything from 2000 to 500 depending on what they offer for that service.. You can write you own contract yourself of course and collect the cheques etc.. You dont have to use the agency.. hope this helps

hi givvz, I have done both concrete and fibreglass and the beauty of fibreglass is,, its easy to install, its quick, you can work on many many designs now, not like before where you were very limited.. and you hear horror stories about concrete pools cracking or leaking .. Not so often with fibre glass.. I can recommend Grosvenor Pools, call Tony He installed my latest pool and I am very pleased.. I can send you a photo if you like.. ;-)

hi ladies, THe rental committee are very helpful if you call them.. some points Agent should not be talking to you at all unless he is managing the property.. YOu should talk to your landlord directly. LL can only put rent up if you are 26% below the rental index.. and there is a scale then how much is can be raised it is miniscule. Without knowing how long you are already in the property, I cannot comment completely however 90 days notice is the law however if you have 60 days there, you can go on that.. He cannot give you notice to vacate unless he is selling, demolishing!! or moving in or refuse to sign a contract or change the conditions without mutual agreement. RC is long winded.. You need to give 30 days notice by Notary public that you are filing a caase.. it will take a minimum of 45 days before you get a call.. Also I just learned that it is 3.5% of the claim, not of the rent!! and yes you will absolutely win in this case.. SO don't worry.. He has not got a leg to stand on.. Agent should not be condoning his behaviour either.. Good Luck.. Don't worry, it will be fine..

hi britchick, I am seeing these kind of terms in contracts more often but I don't like them as they are very vague.. for example is there a limit to the 500s that you will pay.. Better life charge 200 just to walk thru the door so who pays for that ( white goods service people) you or the landlord? does it have a maintenance contract also.. you really need this as assurance. ;-)

ordinarily, you would sign for another year and you are obliged to pay for that whole year.. You must negotiate new terms and ask for a break lease without penalty and I suggest you allow the landlord access one month in advance of the move out date so that he can show the property.. I also believe you could ask for a 6 month lease only.. hope this helps

hi fuddles, how old is your son, i know it would not work for mine as he is such a heavy sleeper, i have to drag him out of the bed and he barely wakes up so the alarm would never work for him.. minirin tablets is what is prescribed by the doctor but that is a last resort and only if very very desperate.. fluid intake should be limited after 4pm. debs hh

kks - true, you are right, my connection was not valid in the way that i have put my point across..In australia, if there was a dedicated childrens play area, there would be stricter regulations in the way it was allowed to operate. I think the point being made is, a mother does not feel secure in knowing that her children are safe when the area is clearly not for the children only and if you have more than one child, it wouldnt be possible to keep your eye on both of them.. I have not been to MM but by the sounds of it, is it like fun corner at Spinneys center, you are buzzed in and out with 2 gates to get through and only adults with children would be bothered to go in as the noise would deafen you! edited by Debs HH on 30/05/2011

This was standard practice but I did not notice the price creeping up... salsb, unfortunately i am producing booklets with 24 pages ( 4000 at a time) and different marketing material so i have to outsource it..

wax much.... wow thanks for that reply,,, You write very well it certainly has given me food for thought..i would love to go head to head with you on certain points but unfortunately i have got to go find another printer or 3! I dont believe that companies who are just out to make a quick buck off one deal prevail, repeat business and recommendations are what a lot of business thrive on and that is where the true profits lie. debs hh

i know them as the poinciana tree also, they are very beautiful but unfortunatley, grass does not grow under them or near them as they drop thier leaves constantly.. so you may have a very beautiful tree for one month of the year but your grass will not grow for 12 months of the year and so they tend to be a bit of a nuisance in the garden.. I TOO THOUGH THINK THEY ARE STUNNING.. debs hh

RebeccaS wrote: Omg!!! Forget it, I didn't post for any other reason than to keep kids safe. But people just can't see it. Rebecca s, well done for posting and raising very valid issues of safety,, I cant understand some people's reaction here though.. is it just boredom or a want to incite a debate.. In australia, to be around children you must have a blue card which means you have had a background check to ensure you have no criminal record or on *** offenders register. IF MM cannot corden off the area where the children are, it is simply not safe and mothers/fathers will not return to this venue. debs hh

OMG, wax much..Do you own a printers? ;-) why do you say that there is no such thing as a market rate, when clearly there is a market rate for standard items of the same quality. ie biz cards or promotional material of a certain paper weight and gloss/matt finish with certain amount of colours and the quantity involved. I am not sure where you are coming from when you say the company made a very good profit out of me and has every right to do so!! why do you say that.? I trusted the source i was using to give me a competitive rate.. I am not talking about a couple of dirhams here and there, it is a substantial amount of money and when i confronted them, the girl virtually admitted wrong doing and said they would sort it out..in fact she said she would not charge me for any of it.. so if that is not an admission of guilt i dont know what is! what happened to trust and honesty in the world of business, or is it a case of get what you can while you can.. this type of company or attitude will not prevail.. debs hh

as far as i am aware, this has been in force since the beginning.. every company operating in the ranches must have a security permit and everyone entering under that permit must be named and so hence a labour card. this has been in force for well over 5 years now...as the gardening company i was using could not get in one day as theirs had expired.. debs hh

I have to agree with Manufan, I thought Diana would turn in her grave with Camila on that balcony with her SON and now daughter in law.. She is awful, i thought she was going to do a micheal jackson with one of her grandchildren over the balcony until charles told her to put her down,, Did anyone see that? Also i seemed to have missed one of the kisses, i only saw one and they said there were 2 !

hi arancher, i have recently just started letting my 14 year old DD go on the bus but with another girlfriend, not alone.. and taxis are a no go still!. She came from the beach a few weeks ago in a taxi but as they had taken extra time to arrive home, i learnt that they stopped at mcdonalds, went thru the drive n and they did not get dressed into leggings as instructed as they were in shorts!!.. SO taxis are banned once again.. I am the type of person that always thinks of worst case scenario and if she was on her own and the bus broke down, then what.. taxi or waiting on side of street alone..no thanks.. debs hh

hi sun devil, call the security supervisor, 0509225306 if a gardener drove thru from outside mirador, they will have his number plates.. call me naive but i just cannot see gardeners being this brave to steal in broad daylight, ( was it in the day?) or maybe they thought you were moving out and dumping the plants.. would they be this stupid to do this.. Gardeners leave plants and carpet grass out overnight while planting and i do not think that they would do this to each other.. someone must have seen something? I know things go missing from gardens and garages but this must have been a mistake? I have lived here for 6 years and luckily never had anything taken.. There have been incidents in the Ranches and so the security a very very vigilant and they will know who was in mirador at this time.. Delve deeper... Good luck,,, but i hope this does not spoil how you feel about the ranches or your welcome to Dubai, its great really it is.. debs hh

Hey pooja, most companies are commission based with a 50/50 split on deals. Its a great job but you will only reap what you sew.. the more hours you put in the more money you take home.. that is if you have got what it takes..Not everyone is cut out for it.. and it can be tough but it can also be very rewarding.. If you have children, you need to have a good support network around you and be super organised.. Its very very busy with full on days.. salary is based on your own ability to keep your clients with you and match them to a property!! If you are GOOD, you will earn a lot more than your average 9-5 role..!! deb hh

hi margo, yes i do like the idea of going to meet the parents if there is a party i have asked her for the phone no of the parents and she is saying that it is very embarassing for her so i have said that is my rule that i speak to the parent or she does not go.. she has just asked me could she go to the marina at 4pm with a group and i have not allowed her saying i can drop her to the girls house after... ( the arrangments suddenly fell apart) simple abc - i agree there is much more control here as i have just been to australlia for 9 months and found it easier to keep a watchful eye here than there. .tks ladies this is very helpful indeed.. the scary thing seems to be the alcohol being offered so young and how the parents dont seem to be aware.. i know teens are devious and they can be sneaky but i check every time now to ensure that if there is any there she will not be pressured or accept it.. debs hh edited by Debs HH on 28/01/2011

hi sue b, i have already set the ground rules for my daughter but i would find it interesting to hear what other parents allow or dont allow She also tells me that times have changed and its not like the olden days!! yes it has but the problems or situations that a teen faces on a daily basis have not changed, peer pressure to smoke or drink or thier interest in boys seems to be even younger nowadays and it would be interesting to see if other parents were having to deal with these issues so early... debs hh
