My hubby got a job in Qatar four months back and he could not sponsor me in DXB, hence we packed up and left after 6 years. Big mistake we have regretted each day! Schools are in great demand and very few have places in Doha. Life is so very quiet here, Friday's are even worse, my hubby works 6 days per week so very boring. In saying this there are loads of expat families that are very happy here (just not me lol). If it were me I would let hubby commute and enjoy what you have there. Good luck with your decision and ask away if you have any questions.

Hi all Having just arrived from Dubai, there seem to be different rules regarding serving of drinks during Eid (Dubai and Doha) it was dry from 6pm last night to 7pm tonight, in Dubai. My question, are any hotels serving bevys tonight or do the dry nights last longer here? TIA

Have just bout a car stereo/radio, besides Yellow Hat, where on earth in Dubai can I have it installed? Have googled but alas, no businesses advertise installation, unless you purchase from them. Any help?

I have just completed 3 months (daily) of radio and chemo for cervical cancer, both treatments carried out at Tawam hospital Al Ain. Nurses and doctors were exceptional cannot fault them at all. Back on 10/09/13 to hopefully get the all "clear"

I went for a smear test as I was unsure wether I was menopausal or not, bleeding on and off. After 3x tests with different gynaes I was told all my tests were negative and due to my age (50) all was normal however I still felt something was not right. The last gynae I consulted said she was not happy with the internal although the tests came back negative. I was referred to a gyno oncologist for further investigation. I am now in my 8 week of treatment for cervical cancer. I don't want to alarm anyone but the outcome shows ( not proven) that the negative tests were done by same laboratory. My advise would be to have yourself checked if you're going back home for the holidays.

I had major surgery to the colon in November and had it done by Dr Faisel Ikram at the City Ospital. He is amazing and worked side by side with Dr Peter Burrow who has now gone back to S.A. We have a family history of colon cancer and all my family now see him for check-ups. My surgery took 6 hrs and my recovery time was very short considering. I had been suffering with bleeding as in your case and a few other symptoms.. Not saying that you will require surgery. If you require further info let me know. Good luck

Georgina, you must be the 3rd person I know of that has a cat gone missing in this week! one in A.R, the other in Jumeirah and yours, both were chipped and with collars, the scary thing is they were also of a similar color hope you find Alfie soon.

I have a perm every 3-6 months, works wonders in the heat, no blow drying etc natural curl wash and leave to dry.
