Thanks for posting this though April. I've not heard of it so i will now be on the look out for any such calls. Don't beat yourself up too much, scam artists are good at what they do and know how to sound convincing!!

My Husband and I love Indian food. We often go to The Peppermill which is in Lulu's Hypermarket, Barsha 1 (close to Mall of Emirates). The mall itself isn't great but the restaurant is very nice inside and has a lovely feel to it, plus the food is great. We also like going to to Zafran in Marina Mall (although we haven't been in a while). If you sit outside you over look the Marina and it's beautiful. The food there is also nice, but as i said we haven't been in a while. Hope that helps :D edited by VictoriaO on 20/04/2014

I disagree Fijifranny, I have found these responses VERY helpful! Hair loss for SOME people has an underlining issue yes, but for me, no there is no underlining issue. I have been to the Drs to check for any deficiencies I may have.... I have zero! So in my 24 years of washing my own hair I think I know enough to put it down to the water here in Dubai. It is a lot harsher than where I am from. I have been told that the water in Dubai is full of Chlorine and other chemicals that can deteriorate the condition of your hair. When I went back home for 6 weeks over Xmas, my hair didn't seem to be falling out at the rate that it does here and it felt a lot softer too! If the water here was not an issue, why are shower filters so popular here? They're not required in many other countries! So thanks for your input, but I think I'll go with the advice I've been given from people that have the same issue with the water that I do! I'm sorry but these replies are not helpful. If it was the water then everybody would have hairloss. rinsing with bottled water will not help hairloss-or millions of people would have an easy solution.lol. also shampoos will not help. this is something that comes from the inside of your body. you may not be stressed now but maybe there was a very stressful situation not too long ago, which you had forgotten about? or maybe depression? if so then do not worry-stress can often cause hairloss (a while later) and it will run its course and the hair will grow back. however it could be something else. Have your blood checked for thyroid problems or anemia. First of all it is important to look for underlying conditions. also many people lose a lot of hair after having a baby. Google "telegon effluvium" and see if it could be that. (check and see if the hairloss is allover and a general thinning OR if it is worse in certain locations).good luck. edited by Fijifranny on 21/03/2014

Thanks for your reply DivineBeet. I'm pleased to know i'm not the only one!! I will definitely take your advice, i'm going to try to wash my hair tomorrow with bottled water. I'm hoping it won't prove to be too much of a hassle as i have very long hair ha ha. And thanks for the advice on the Olive Oil i will try something like that before spending money on products. There's so many different ones out there it makes it very confusing. :D Best of luck to you and your hair also! Hi VictoriaO, I am just like you - my hair has been falling at an unimaginable rate. My scalp actually often feels sore. I am also most definitely not stressed (and even when I have been through out my life, hair fall was never a symptom), and the environment is not a factor. I've tried hair masks, various specialized shampoos, vitamins, but nothing has helped. I too believe that it is the water. Using a shower filter has not made much of a difference. I've resigned to rinsing my hair with bottled water after washing, and it seems to be the only thing that works. It certainly doesn't fix the problem because whenever I forget to bring a bottle in or think that all is better and skip it, clumps and chunks of hair start coming out. After rinsing with bottled water I do see less hair falling, it feels stronger and stays clean longer. As all of our bodies are different, this might not be the answer for you. You might find that a good "Hair/Nails/Skin" complex of vitamins might be what you need. Natural oil (such as olive oil), egg yolk or honey can be massaged into hair and scalp. I would would probably start with those before buying any salon products (and they are often loaded with chemicals which can make fragile hair even weaker, not to mention expensive). If nothing helps, or if you want to eliminate medical reasons first, do see a doctor for blood work to check if you have any deficiencies or underlying conditions. If you strongly feel that it is the water however, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, as it definitely the issue for me. Good luck

Depending on how far you want to travel, i'd suggest Rarotonga which is an Island in the Cook Islands. Beautiful place. Lots of Snorkeling to do there. I've been there a couple of times and its paradise.

First world problems isn't it?! Just count yourself lucky that you HAVE maid!! I still don't understand how the people of Dubai need maids yet other countries survive perfectly running their own kids, household etc. Personally, i think if you can't be around to look after your own kids because of your hectic life maybe you shouldn't have had them in the first place. Not very fair on the child if you ask me!!

Hi Ladies, I am making my own Wedding Invitations. I am on the look out for some envelopes for them. I was wondering if anyone knows of a shop in Dubai that sells a range of different colours, materials, sizes etc. I am aware that there are several places where you can go to get them custom made. Ideally i would like to go into a shop and have a browse as I'm not 100% sure what i want. Also, i am on the look out for envelope liners. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Hi, I have a picture that is A3 size, i just bought a frame (knowing full well it would be too big but there wasn't much choice) . The frame measures 40x50cm. I am wanting to back the picture onto some black or coloured card. Does anyone know where i can find single sheets of card this size or bigger? Many thanks, Victoria. edited by VictoriaO on 21/11/2013
