Check Geant Ibn batuta. I'm sure you can find some in the Special foods and ethnic foods section (not the cereal isle). I have picked them up myself many times.

It works for me but you have to do it every two weeks to maintain and stop the growth, and yes had complete laser before through a clinic, the Lumear controls the stubborn ones that still come through ;) Sorry to jump in...I had a few questions too... How does the skin feel while using it and after? Also did you feel anything changing about your skin? somewhere I read some lady claimed that long term use has lead to sagging, but I personally dont think that can happen by something this mild. Also how long have you been using the product? I hope you don't mind me asking, I'm interested in buying this product.

Why would people of been glum in 2007? Business here was booming as I joined my present company in late 2006 and it was hectic . It wasn't until the end of 2008 beginning of 2009 that the global financial crisis affected the UAE I feel that back then people couldn't and didn't want to believe that the financial crisis would hit the UAE as there so much construction and recruitment going on I remember people saying the UAE would never be affected and then it was. Things are a little slower here however I feel people are being cautious as a result of what happened back then however the government is still spending ( which is some positive news) as they have to get ready for 20/20. I don't think this downturn will be anything like the one back in 2009 I would like to know though where all the rush hour traffic comes from though as SZR etc is gridlocked in the morning  Sarahlou, I'm with you on that! I feel that the traffic has just increased for some odd reason since January. May not be true, but the routes I frequent just seem more congested to me. Also, economic downturn was at its peak in the mid of 2009 as you rightly pointed. Its exactly when I graduated, oh the struggles to find jobs!

USPS is the cheapest but far from the best! I have lost my packages twice from their end and to call the customer service and get connected to a 'real person' instead of talking to a machine is almost impossible! I no longer use this option. There are multiple reviews on USPS lost packages.

Sarah333, I'm in the same boat as your husband. Being from the Oil and Gas industry, I really hard to really get anywhere with the job search. I'm just hanging in there like many others. There are times when I'm really low during the day and at times I hear about people who have it worse than me! Sometimes its really hard to look at "the positive side". Hope things work out for you soon, but until then, know that you are not alone!

Just to weigh in...you can also organize a tour with some of the hotel groups that are in different locations over the north east India. I know Elgin hotels and Mayfair hotels can help you plan an itinerary that includes stay at their properties and transport including guide through out. It would be worth to check their websites and email them directly.

Well I had this experience just yesterday at the Oud metha fuel station. A couple with 2 kids (an infant girl and son maybe 5) told me they had their money stolen etc and I could help them, they have come from muscat. I know of this scam very well and again a family in a tahoe having no means of getting cash seems extremely unbelievable. Anyway, I said "In what way do you expect me to help you?" and the father said "if you can just help with some food and milk for the kids" and pointed at the zoom. I was reluctant to handover cash so I agreed to buy milk and some food. The wife came to the store with me and picked up a shopping basket, idk if she expected me to buy her a week's grocery, and the boy started filling it with freshly cut fruits and chocolates. I went on the other side, picked a 1L bottle of fresh milk and a box of digestives and said "this is all I can get you". The mother kept asking if I could buy chocolates etc but I stood firm. Anyway, I bought it and handed it over to the boy. I clearly know this is a scam because Ive heard it all before and even before I walked out after paying the mother walked back to the refrigerators for purchasing more supplies by herself. It was quite obvious that they are quite seasoned in doing this, but I'm quite surprised that people with kids of impressionable age and parents that can afford to own/rent a tahoe resort to begging like that. I'm not only disgusted, I'm also confused as to if i did a good thing for letting the kids have some food inspite of knowing this is a common scam or if im so foolish that im that vulnerable to emotions.

Well..atleast in the UAE, with most ppl I know this is taken as a 'norm'. There is a grace because it is expected to be used, so what RTA is really saying by giving a grace of 20 over a say 100 limit is that they expect the driver to not be over 120kmph. This is how the communication is reaching most of the motorists, I believe. If the intended limit is 100, then the limit is usually set to 80 kmph. Yes it sounds bizzare, yes it is not going by the textbook, but that's what a 'norm' is. This may not be an international norm, but a UAE one. If they decide to take off the grace, and communicate it thru various channels, the motorists' nature of driving will obviously change. So whatever it is at moment, it is how its intended to be by the authorities. Which by all means, they have the right to change with proper communication. As of now, the driving books that we get from the driving institutes, clearly mention this grace as 21kmph. Same information is delivered in the driving lectures. Silvset, there is no reason to be calling out names. There are different ways an information is perceived by different individuals. Many may not agree with your opinion or mine, and everyone has a right to their own opinion. Driving under the 'expected' speed limit does not make some one a bad or an unsafe driver. But yes, there are many unsafe drivers on the road who slow down only at the radars and do not get flashed.

Hi Rawla Yea, that's exactly what it says like your example, that's why I know I made a speeding offence. I have been using this road for over an year daily, and when I say that I don't exceed 120 what I actually mean is that my cruise is set at 119 or below. But thanks for the insights, I'll definitely stay lower, specially now.

Hi Sarah! But I have been using this road in this way for over an year! Which is why I'm suspecting something new is up! These are my first speeding fine everrrrr....in like a decade since I've been driving! :( But I hope I'm wrong, because these fines just got registered for an offence dated a week back. and in this week, i did not suspect anything so i just drove like I always do! Cannot lose 6000 aed on speeding fines, that's ridiculous!

This has been happening since this week, I am on cruise control and never exceed 120kmph. But I have got flashed 2 times (consecutive days) this week on Al Khail street. Am I missing something? Is there a reduced speed camera? Is there a patch where the speed limit has been reduced? Anyone else experience this? I'm speaking with regard to the section between Hessa to Oud metha exit (Dubai bound).

cymraes, can you suggest any good recruitment agencies? and how exactly does it work, does a candidate ideally need to visit or just email the CV, wouldn't want to just drop in uninvited. I'm also an active job seeker.

how do you find and contact relevant recruitment agencies? and how do they work? Last year I went to a recruitment agency and paid them a basic fee. They claimed that their record is almost 100% placement. Few weeks in, I got multiple interview calls. But when I went in for an interview, not one of them was a professional or a well established company. Many of the calls I received were completely irrelevant to my profile. And others irrelevant to my level of experience and the salary I was receiving at that time. Finally I figured out the way this company worked. Basically, they created an email account of my name (to which I never had the password) and bombarded my CV to any and every company they had on their list, probably over a hundred. I discussed several times with my agent that they were not putting out my profile to the right kind or even category of companies. Ultimately, since I turned down the offers that came my way either due to profile or pay, the agent stopped responding completely. It makes less sense to be an engineer and get offers from insurance companies. Or to be a lawyer and get offers from a clinic for the position of a clerk. This was the kind of response I got when I say the response was "irrelevant". It is ofcourse possible that I went to the the wrong kind of recruitment agency. I would appreciate if someone can advise how one should find the right kind of recruitment agency and how do they function in putting your profile out there to the right companies.

It does happen by over watering, yes. But I did put rocks in my pot and ensure the holes allowed excess water to run out. It was one of the things I considered as an issue while my plant was still droopy. All of that didn't prevent the root rot. I was worried about the soil as I read that different plants require different types of soil and some kind of soils hold more water for longer than others. Exactly why I'm concerned if the ikea soil is suitable for indoor plants, as I suspect a possibility it may be meant for outdoor gardening where water loss is more! Thanks anyways...please post if any further insights.

Our landlord is a bit of a creative kind. He sends his "building manager" to us with a contract that has a clause "renewal of contract and rental increase is at the discretion of the landlord". We just laughed at this and handed the contract back and asked to her to give us an amended contract with the right clauses in it. So far its over 2 weeks and she hasn't returned. But we do have her signature and date on the photocopy of all cheques saying "received". Pretty sure encashing cheques without a signed contract would be a criminal offence. These greedy LLs need to be stopped. Last year we just gave into a huge rental increase although it wasn't legal, but we were new and unsure of the rera laws back then. Sigh!! Regret!!

Hi! Thanks all for the responses and valuable advice! I did check the Austrian tourism website which mentions that we need an international driving license. Think that should be alright as I did get an international driver's license about an year and half back to drive in New Zealand. (Although they didn't ask for it..but I wanted to be safe rather than face any disappointment as it was my first time driving in internationally. ;P) The reason we think hiring a car would be better (for 1 day) as we wish to visit the ice caves and the Liechtensteinklamm on the same day and then continue our journey to Innsbruck. Without a car..all of this seems to be very time taking and it is unlikely we could cover it all comfortably in a day by public transport. Also it seems to working out cheaper (even with a automatic merc benz :P). And then we think we can probably drive through the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and reach Innsbruck by night, where we drop off our car. I welcome all comments and suggestions to this.

DH and I are planning to travel to Austria this summer (august) and are thinking of hiring a car for a day or 2 in Salzburg (drop off Innsbruck) since most of the scenic destinations seem to be in the outskirts and public transport appears to be a lot of confusion and time taking. Can anyone make any good recommendations on what will be the best agency/ other approach for car hire. Automatic cars seem to rare and over priced. Being in Dubai...we are completely out of practice driving a stick!! And everything on the Europcar/Hertz (and other rental car giants) websites seem to be wayyyy too expensive. Sigh! I know Europe is far more expensive compared to Dubai...but still!

Hi I was last year in January one week in Phuket and was so relaxing! I don't think 10 days are too much :) We were in a resort but we chose just b&b, we usually had lunch at the swimming pool bar and dinner in one of the restaurants of the resort or somewhere near it. Can you give the name of the resort/b&b you stayed with in Phuket? Thanks! :)

I have bought bread (whole wheat) from C4 before and never liked it, right from the packaging to the taste. The packaging especially is so bad that it can rip off while I'm carrying it from the counter to my shopping cart. Its just so flimsy and weak and they cut off the plastic right at the seal, such that if I wish to reseal it...I simply cannot....if I try to stretch it...it rips! The taste itself did'nt feel that great and at another C4 when I read the ingredients...it did have preservatives. So then why buy from the bakery...rather just get a better brand like Modern etc. I now buy bread from Geant...it tastes good...packaging far better!

I have a sensitive skin which gets itchy with excessive oil and dust followed by small acne/ bump/ boil/ something-that's-too-weird-looking...and have been using Himalaya Herbal Cleansing milk followed by Himalaya herbal toner for my skin type (which is normal). This seems to work for me...and feels gentle too. In the past I have followed this regime on once-a-day basis and it had really done wonders for me within a week. Now I don't feel the need to use daily so I do it once or twice a week and works well. These products seem to be mild...and work well too. I prefer going as close to being herbal as possible, although I am not sure if Himalaya is 100% herbal, it sure seems milder than other chemical filled cleansers. I also feel finely grated cucumber with yogurt is a great coolant and natural cleanser, mix it with a little honey and aloe vera (wheatgerm or wheat germ oil if possible). I let this pack stay on me for about half hr or so...because its very soothing. Leaves my skin feeling soft and squeaky clean without over drying. If you do try, lemme know how you feel abt it.

Some relatives say they can reach the phones of the passenger, however there is no answer. It's about 19 or so unrelated ppl claiming this, so the possibility of someone leaving the phone at home or elsewhere seems out of question. Also some data messaging services seem to show delivered messages without any response. These families have signed a joint petition to persuade the authorities to GPS track the phones ASAP. If this is all true...there could be hope!! Really praying for a miracle!

All this is really good! But do realize...this is all external treatment. If you are facing major Hair loss problems, do try to find the [b'>underlying cause[/b'> of it. Hair loss is usually a "symptom" and not always merely the problem! The top 2 causes for hair loss in women are 1. Iron deficiency in the form of Ferritin complex (this could be lower even if your Haemoglobin count is normal, this is essentially a storage iron molecule. To get this tested specifically ask for a "ferritin test", its v. cheap) 2. B complex (generally in vegetarians and vegans). Also can be due to a thyroid related issues. If you feel you are suffering severe hair loss (especially with no history of baldness in family) do pay one single visit to an Internal Medicine Doctor and get checked. These problems are treatable extremely easily, but if untreated could lead to other bigger issues. My hair loss problems were on lines of B12 and ferritin deficiency, i was started on Iron & B12 supplements and the improvement is really good. So I strongly suggest to treat it internally as well.

Arch...I really couldn't find this road, ever. But if its simply a dirt road and not really unsafe, they should've left it open until the permanent solution was provided. Yes sarahlou123 I agree with you. It is actually unsafe to use such a route, I haven't seen it...but if it like what you have described then it wouldnt be a good idea. The police needs to be there each morning, i have felt at many occasions that they can really make all the traffic flow a little bit smoother. And probably putting additional cops there will in turn make the authorities consider the need for a better, more permanent solution.

sarahlou123: I don't wish to make any derogatory remarks on any company as such, but if it is upto [b'>Nakheel[/b'> like you said....then i think this is all a lost cause!! because Nakheel does not care about anythinggggggggggg once they have finished constructing their property and tenants have started to move in. It is in fact one of the most negligent property brand of all in Dubai. Just look at how many problems a huge community like DG has...smelly gardens, mould growing apartments, smell in the bathrooms, zero effective ventilation to name a few. The pools in so many clusters never opened...the huge sandy ground we see right in the middle of DG, that was supposed to be a park that never got constructed. Property owners in DG are also unhappy about that. They however wouldn't mind making a new town center (which is also required), because that will just give them more business! My work place is 15 mins away from DG, yet every morning it takes 1-1.5 hrs to hit SZR. It is actually not rocket science to know that almost half of the ppl in DG wish to use Mohd. bin Zayed road, so if they can actually make a highway of what looks like 1-1.5 km, the whole fuss will be over sooner than we think! (we can actually see Mohd. bin Zayed road from the main highway...all that is need is a further extension)

This is obviously a problem that has been long identified, something many of us face each morning on our way to work/school. Yet no steps are being taken....and no sign or news of it either. The last I read about this was back in August ( http://www.emirates247.com/news/emirates/no-more-traffic-jams-new-exit-for-discovery-gardens-gardens-2013-08-25-1.518644 ), following this there has been no update as to when and how soon is this work going to at least begin! In spite of this and so many other problems with discovery, rents are increasing, new communities are being built around (Furjan and some new set of buildings i can see right after Gardens across street 6 I believe). There really needs to be a solution because ppl like myself actually have no choice but to live here since there is no other community with a similar distance to both dubai and abudhabi (which is a requirement for me). The least RTA can do is to make more exits to SZR & mohd. bin zayed road. Has anyone heard any updates on this plan? Is there a way to come together as a community and file a petition on this? edited by Amyly on 05/02/2014

Hi! I just exported my car from Bahrain to Dubai last October 2013. The procedure is very simple, however you do need to take the vehicle to the Central Traffic Directorate (the same building where you go for annual registration or driving license issue/renewal...its next to Isa town stadium). Some forms to fill, get your car passed..they will guide you through, change of number plates to Bahrain export no., then they charge an amount (I don't remember how much but 51 BD???). That's it...then you catch hold of an agent and get your car transported.
