Does anyone know how long it takes to process an entry visa for my maid? We had to send our new maid to Oman as her tourist visa had just expired. We have completed all the necessary paperwork at a typing centre, and have the receipt with an ID. This happened last Thursday however we have not heard anything and I'm beginning to wonder how long the process takes? Her Oman visa is only valid for ten days and is due to expire on the 30th April. Any help is very much appreciated

It's a lot cheaper if you do it yourself. There is a LOT of running around to make sure all the paperwork is completed and it does take time, however if you want to save 1000's then I do recommend it. If you want more detailed info email me and I am happy to land a hand. I have helped 3 friends send their dogs back to the uk. And 'no' I don't run any kind of business in regards to pet exports, it's just I was shocked to see how much various companies charge and amazed to see how cheaply you can DIY. If you want to chat, let me know and I will add my email address.

The nanny can get an extension for her passport even if she has previously had an extension. First extension our helper got was for a year, and the second extension was for 8 months. Second extension was while her new passport was being processed. Takes two days not sure how much it cost.

Hi. I had this problem too. Discovered that you need to have an account with the Apple Store registered in UAE. If your apple account is anywhere else the Entertainer App will not download.

I've brought my two cats and dogs into Dubai. Send me an email, hopefully I can help so you don't have to use an agent - as these can be quite expensive. It's relatively easy to do:). edited by miffmac on 11/06/2013

Hi. Just to let you know it's very expensive using an agent in Dubai. It's so much cheaper if you do it yourself. Have a search for relocating pets to Duba. there is lots of great advise as to how to DIY. Don't be 'put off' doing it yourself either. I have brought my two dogs and two cats in myself and saved over £2000,

Hi Kiwi No problem. It's just that I got this I formation from http://www.enz.org/moving-pets-to-new-zealand.html Which did suggest that the rabies blood test needed to be 6 months old for the animal only to spend 10 days in quarantine. Also my vet in the uk told us this. More than happy to take on board your update :). Tks

Happy to help A couple of friends of mine just couldn't afford the fees that are being charged by agents. So they decided to DIY. I only helped as I have my three dogs here that I brought out from Scotland and I will need to arrange to send them back when we eventually leave, so my advice is from the point of view of having done it recently and taken loads of notes. Please email me edited by miffmac on 24/01/2013

Hi. I have brought two dogs from the uk to Dubai. First time I used DKC and the second time I did all the paperwork myself. Happy to let you know what to do, and I don't charge - it's just quite a difference in costs if you do it yourself and its not difficult.

Hi. You can 'do it yourself' which involves quite a bit of running around, especially in the last two weeks, before they leave. But it can done if u have the time. Otherwise contact one of the pet relocation places here and they will do it all for you, at a cost! A note: If your dogs haven't had the rabies blood test, you should do it ASAP, as this test needs to b 6 months old otherwise they will need to go I to quarantine once they arrive in NZ for the 6 months, or what ever time remains of the 6 months. (Same test dogs needed to enter uk prior to 1/1/12) Your vet is the best person to ask, as to what exactly needs to b done. I am shipping my son's dog to NZ later this year so have done quite a bit if research about this.

Where did you live before? I help out with Feline Friends and a woman picked up a cat a day ago that was microchipped but we cannot get in touch with the person that adopted it, even thought we have their email and mobile number:(
