A friend of mine is looking for a new family for her 45 years old maid. She is the most reliable person I have ever met, kind, trustworthy, motivated, energetic, so maternal, she has lots of initiative...just perfect. No problem with boy friends or husband has she decided to give her time to god ( she attends bible study every Wednesday evening and go to church every Friday). She always stays a long time with the families she works for. She is ssoooooo good at managing maintenance guys, gardens, drivers...again she is just wonderful. If anybody know someone who needs a stress free maid she is the answer. Really whoever will have her will be just so happy. On the other side my other friend has a 25 years old maid and oh my god she has so many problems, boyfriend, daughters ill, cousins dying, mother ill....it never ends....always ill, tired, not happy...I am not saying that it is not true but really so much drama every week, always needs more money...one day happy...the other sad... My opinion is that age doesn't really matter but maturity does. Maturity tend to come with age but it also comes from background, upbringing, experience, faith and values.

Oh my god! This is my worst nightmare! I would be standing there crying, shouting, jumping...really just the idea of what you describe makes me panic! Want to run, move house, change country, change planet!!!! Yes I know I probably overreact but it is a real phobia for me. In my compound our neighbours' kids found a snake, their called the security who dealt with it and call the appropriate persons. Usually they investigate if more are to be found. Hope it helps.

Last April I walked around Bur Dubai with my mum (who has the same problem as yours) and found a simple walking stick in one off the shop. Not the very expensive one, but that was enough for her stay in Dubai.

Can you find a mediator within the family to help you solve the problem? Can you ask her to give you proper arguments as why you should hold to it? She perhaps knows something that you don't. I have this principle of never mixing business and family...I can survive losing a business partner but not a member of my family...whatever the amount involved. Good luck.

So she hasn't contributed to the mortgage and still thinks that she has a word to say? Doesn't she feel ashamed? Common sense should resolve the situation not a lawyer especially in a family situation. Just my opinion.
