I believe that things may be moving along...I was invited to start using the online portal for onboarding hires, which allows me to track my progress right up to the point of arrival in Doha. Hopefully this means something good!! edited by abby86 on 08/03/2015 Hi abby86 I was also invited to use the online portal, MySidra. I was just confused as i was verbally told 4 weeks ago that onboarding was delayed and now this. I haven't been able to get through to my HR contact yet. But hopefully as you said it could only mean positive change.

I am entering the phase 3 of recruitment. Since some of the documents are time sensitive (e.g. good only for 6 months) they have not yet requested verified documents from me and that include taking the nursing prometric exam. I was told by the recruitment team that March 2016 is the opening but will start mobilizing staff months before that. If that is the case Sidra will start boarding staff at the later part of this year or early part of next year. I had an been emailed by Sidra this week to submit verified documents and sit the prometric exam this week. Its possible they are starting the on boarding staff again. Any there any CNL who have been asked this after being told the delay few weeks ago? edited by umamani on 08/03/2015

SURELY MY POST IS NOT UPSET / HURT THE UPBEAT OR EXCITEMENT. I HAVE JUST FORWARDED WHAT SIDRA HAD WRITTEN AND EXPLAINED OVER PHONE. THE DELAY MAY NOT BE APPLICABLE TO A FEW BUT IT IS FOR SURE THAT HOSPITAL IS TO OPEN IN 2016. THEY HAVE ALREADY BROUGHT IN FEW SR PERSONNEL TO SET UP VARIOUS UNITS. POSSIBLE A FEW IN SR.LEVEL MIGHT FLY IN A FEW WEEKS /MONTHS. WE ALL WANTED / WISH TO MOBILISE ASAP,BUT UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS THE CURRENT SITUATION. REGARDS MARDOL:) Thanks for sharing this with us. Its good to know for those of us who were not contacted re the above. I contacted the HR person in Sidra who deals with my queries and she confirmed that while my particular situation hasn't changed that there will be delay in mobilising none senior position staff. As long as i am there for September in time for next school year i am happy.

Just wondering if anyone signed their Employment Contract last year (around September to be precise) and still have not heard anything? Surely all the waiting deserves some sort of compensation lol Hi PetkoNZ I signed my Emp. contract on the 23rd of Dec. Ten days ago they contacted for my references as well as background check with another company to confirm employment history. Its worth contacting your HR contact person at Sidra/Agency for an update. I am midwife from the UK. I will also say if anyone needs school places for September , start applying now as most schools opened their admission process two weeks ago.

Hi, I am have been offered the post of CNL....any Idea what how much pay to expect ?. Is negotiation allowed. I am from UK with 20yrs of experience. Thanks in advance:) Hi Hepsil I also got the CNL post, from UK and with 14 yrs experience they offered almost double my current net pay. I applied directly through Sidra and on their offer letter it stated that it was final offer so i accepted the 1st offer. Some people do negotiate and get significant increase where others don't. I will say look at the whole package including housing allowance. for CNL and above, you get full school fees and more in housing allowance.

Hi umamani Thanks for your reply. I am at the point of my documents being sent to the supreme council of health to get registered as a nurse and then visa applied for. However I was sent an email last week telling me that they would not accept my CPR certificate, the council want us all to have a cert in ILS. Did you hear this? Do you have this cert? We can't do this course in Ireland and the one in the U.k, the council won't recognise as it is not European resuscitation council approved. Just wondering how we will get past this hitch. I am still waiting on sidra to get back with an answer. I thought I might get going in the next few months but the whole thing is looking very doubtful now. :( No i don't have the ILS cert. IF they don't recognise it then they have to come up with alternative solution. This effects many of us so i am sure they will work something out. Things tend to slow down and pick up speed again with Sidra so don't lose hope.

Walikum salaam wa rahmatullah wa barakatu (And may peace and blessings and mercy of God be upon you) Sister Umm Hadiyah mabrook (congratulations)! What area? I am still waiting to hear back about interviews. I did not hear much, except contacting agencies it did not sound like they took Americans. Reassured by that you are accepted masha'Allah (Allah has willed it)! I am a DNP from the US. So far no job offers and two upcoming interviews insha'Allah (God willing) but the closing dates for my preferred positions are still out there... Please let us know about your experiences. Did you get response from SIDRA or an agency? I plan to bring my spouse and children as well inshaAllah (God willing) if I secure a position. What area are you in? I am in OB. It's the last ten days of Ramadan so look for laylatul qadr (the night of power/degree) and ask for a smooth move! edited by happyfamilies on 25/07/2014 as-Salaamu'alaikum Sister, I will be working in the NICU inshaAllah. I was contacted via LinkedIn by a UK based recruiting company (Cavendish Staffing) about applying for a position originally. So far they have been very upfront with me about everything Alhamdulillah and have answered a great deal of my questions. I was looking to move abroad anyway in order to vary my experiences. I was last contacted by Sidra's HR a week or so before Ramadan to let me know that they were working on getting my offer letter to me and asked for some patience. I suspect the arrival of Ramadan and the departure of much of the staff for the summer holiday has significantly slowed everything down. I thought I was the only one that noticed that of the English-speaking countries, America seems to be pretty low on the totem poll in terms of the number of nurses hired to the middle east! I think if you're a strong candidate though, no matter where you are from, they will interview you, wallahu' alim. Besides my seven years nursing experience in NICUs of all levels and well baby nursery, I have two years experience in the postpartum care and successfully interviewed for the University of Pennsylvania's nurse midwifery program. Once we see what the offer truly entails, we'll make a decision. I have been told that starting dates are pretty fluid, but the goal is to start moving staff overseas in November so there is time to get all paperwork and housing sorted out prior to the hospital opening. May the blessings of these last ten nights descend on you and your family and on the muslimeen everywhere, particularly those suffering so much injustice in this world, Ameen! Please keep in touch!

Hi Ladies, Thank you all so much for your insightful advice. Ali68- Sidra offered me a position that will allow me to bring my family with me and they have already requested a copy of their passports for visa processing. My dealings with Sidra has been very positive so far. No news on where the accommodation as yet and that is making it difficult to plan ahead. They also agreed i could start April next year which will allow me to apply for schools for Sept 2015. In the meantime my daughter who is in yr 7 will remain in the Uk to finish the year and will join us in the summer holiday. My younger two kids are 2 and 4 year old and they are dual French/British national, the French schools were positive in getting place . I just hope that we secure school place for the older one. I do believe though with all the stress and anxiety it will be worth it in the end. Many thanks again ..

umamani, Sidra seems to be employing a huge amount of staff at the moment and from what I have heard they are being housed in 3 different locations at this time. I have no idea if those places will fill up and then people will be placed in other spots again. Make sure your grade is one that will allow you to bring your family (as I am assuming you are a female) as women face some restrictions on sponsoring their husbands and children. Are you going to apply for your children/child to start school in September as there are currently SEC restrictions on expat children starting that late in the school year. These rulings seems to change sometimes and don't always seem to be enforced so you may get away with it. On the whole Sidra seems to be really working hard for their new recruits compared to what I have witnessed from other employers (some of which are quite big entities) so hopefully they will be able to smooth the way for you.

Hi Eleonor, Thank you for your reply. To be honest i am not sure where i will be placed. I thought Sidra staff accomodation was in one location. I am at the stage where i have sent all my documents and awaitng my contract offer. I just wanted to planned ahead a little. The whole process scares me a little and found this forum really helpful. They agreed at the interview that i could start April 2015 so i am hoping this will give me enough time to find school/nursery place`s. Just waiting for my offer to come through and see if this will have further details on accomodation and so on. Thanks again

Hello Elegance123, I have job offer and with Sidra and would like any info on their accommodation, good schools close to their housing compound. I will also be looking for after school quran/arabic classes. Have you found any yet? My children are age 2,4 and 12. For the younger ones we are planning on getting them into French nursery/school. The 12 yr old will be going yr8 next year. It would be great to hear your experiences so far.
