Just thought I'd mention my contact for health insurance. He's a highly experienced broker, Brit, explains all options extremely well. Mike Hitchcock 050 738 1294. [email protected] I would highly recommend him.

I've been with William Russell for 13 years & have been very happy with them. They have a full range of coverage for both expat individuals & families. Whilst they're pay & claim they settle claims very quickly especially as Dubai Insurance represents them here for contact purposes, claim form processing etc. I'm not sure how they compare on price, however I'm a firm believer in quality, the overall benefits & in particular speed of service when it comes to claims. I've recently had a couple of operations during the same hospitalization which as an in-patient would have been covered under direct billing. However, as I knew in advance my bill would total approx 166,000 dhs we paid on our credit card so we could benefit from skywards miles & they've already processed the claim within a month.

I totally agree about the necessity for going with whoever you're most comfortable with. Fertility treatment is so demanding both physically & mentally. My husband & I gave up after a few attempts & another friend of ours' after 13 failed attempts here. There are clearly success stories though. Best of luck.

The car park is very close with regular Big Bus shuttles to the stadium. Departure was very quick at the end of the concert. I wouldn't wear spiky heals as the car park is the usual waste land covered in gravel. The pitch area is covered in metal sheeting. If you have pitch tickets I think you'll have a great night tonight. Last night we were seated in the grandstand rather than on the pitch & our position totally ruined what appeared to be a great concert. I say appeared as there was a cavernous gap between the pitch seating & grandstand & Michael Buble's voice was often drowned by the big band sound. The ambient sound of people behind us in the bars & quite clearly there to drink & shout increasingly loudly also ruined the concert. The stadium has to be one of the worst concert venues I've been to & should only be used for cricket & never for concerts. edited by janet on 13/03/2015

Dr Dr Zheng at The King China Acupuncture Centre in Satwa is brilliant. She was recommended to me by my previous acupuncturist Dr Chen who left Dubai. She's extremely good & offers both costs per session or a package of 10 sessions of acupuncture & cupping for 2,300 dhs. Her mob is 050 6988637.

You're welcome. I'm glad you said you'd like to try a few sessions. I always feel worse before I feel better! After 5 - 6 sessions my body starts to rebalance & I start to feel great.

Hi Molly Moo Moo I wish you every luck in getting yourself back up to full strength. I know, from personal experience, what a long & painful struggle it can be. I too had a condition which was difficult to diagnose, was put on medication which totally screwed me up & have finally gained control & relief by combining acupuncture & chiropractic treatment with medical care from hospital & Dr Yin Rundell at Dubai Physiotherapy Med Clinic who is truly marvellous. I've had acupuncture here & in the UK & it absolutely works for me. Reflexology didn't! Dr Zheng at The King China Acupuncture Centre in Satwa was recommended to me by my previous acupuncturist Dr Chen who left Dubai. She's extremely good & offers both costs per session or a package of 10 sessions of acupuncture & cupping for 2,300 dhs which are covered on my health insurance. I don't think insurance cos. would cover acupuncture if it didn't have any merit. Her mob is 050 6988637. I'm not too sure whether seeing a chiropractor would help your condition. However if it does, Dr Gary Fitzgerald near Choitrams & Al Safa Vets on Al Wasl Rd is brilliant. His practice no. is 04 348 4406 Best of luck ;-)

Wow! No wonder we never seemed to get a free ticket! I assumed it was per ticket rather than per transaction too. Having been a frequent cinema goer & in particular Vox at moe, we gave up on them when they 'enhanced' their services well of a year ago although didn't bother to update their rewards scheme which is still shown as 'coming soon' on their website. We now go to reel at Dubai Mall which unlike moe is clean & fresh smelling & has nice toilets rather than the horrendous ones at moe.

Glad you received better service than I Nellie. I think you're right about a different level a service as you'd bought your vacuum from them. Maybe they weren't too bothered helping me as I'd bought an 8 year old kirby second hand? Kirbys have a 3 year warranty which covers defects in material & workmanship so it's good to hear they're only charging for travel costs.

I recently succumbed to buying a second hand Kirby Sentria vacuum cleaner from Dubizzle. Having used one in the UK, I'm a Kirby fan & looked forward to using one here. However, I thought all was lost when it took me over 3 weeks to get any response from the totally lousy kirby dealers over here. All I wanted was a number of replacement nozzles etc & to arrange for a service. When I finally received a quotation for the replacement parts, I totally gave up on using any dealership here & chose to order my parts direct from the UK. One quick phone call, 1 email & 10 days later I'd received my replacement parts for 617 dhs, which included postage & packing from the UK. Rather than 1,410 dhs I'd been quoted from a dealer in Sharjah!!! http://www.elikirbyclub.co.uk

Hi I'd highly recommend Aleena curtains. Joseph 050 2529870. They've just made me some curtains which I'm very pleased with. I already had the material, although they made the 2 panels up, fully lined & provided & installed the rails & cords. Total cost 350 dhs. Installed within 3 days of me calling him.

Hello ladies my husband & I are here for the summer & I've been looking into escaping locally to a hotel. I notice groupon & cobone etc have started to launch summer deals. However, I suggest you do some research before you book. The offers for the Al Hamra resort at RAK looked promising until I looked at some of the recent -ve feedbacks on trip advisor. Even more interesting was a reply from the hotels GM advising all accomadations & the pool will be under going extensive renovation over the next months. Coincides nicely with the so cheap I can't believe it offers!! I suppose you get what you pay for hey?

Hi I'm looking for recommendations for airline frequent flyers programs which actually work! For many years my husband & I have travelled almost exclusively with Emirates. However, since 'enhancements' were made to their skywards scheme, we've been unable to book reward flights on 4 occasions as there is never any availability for their saver reward flights. (40k miles rather than 77k miles). Currently there are no saver returns to the UK from the end of June through to the end of Sept!!! Whilst we have miles to use we can't use them! Does anybody have another airline they support whose reward scheme is usable? I'd be really grateful for suggestions!
