Hi there, When I applied for my visa back in December it was the same thing just got the acknowledgment saying my transaction was successful and I had an E visa. I also thought it was strange so asked a friend who was an immigration lawyer and she said apparently that's all that happens. I was fine when I went through immigration in Sydney it showed up when they scanned my passport. I took a copy of the acknowledgement with me just in case they asked at immigration. So as long as your acknowledgment states you have an E-Visa you should probably be ok as well.

Hi there, I fly out of DWC all the time and I love it. It is pretty bare bones right now, although they recently opened the Starbucks! There is a small food court upstairs with a mcdonalds and a costa and I think one or two other places. There is a small duty free, nothing great but has a tiny book section that isn't too bad. I've never been in the lounges as I never get there with enough time to hang around much. I prefer to fly out of here because there is never any line ups. and I mean none! Last week when I flew out, I checked in and was through security in 10 minutes. When I returned I went from the plane to a cab in about 12 minutes. But sshhh keep it on the DL I love that this airport is so empty right now! lol hope that helps :)

Hi there, I definitely understand your worries! I have been so tentative to go to a hairdresser that I haven't gone since I moved to Dubai. I finally went this past week on a recommendation and I absolutely love my hair! His name is Salah at Hair by Salah in Knowledge Village. He initially made my hair too ash blonde for my liking but I went back a week later and he fixed it for no charge. I can't comment on how his cut is as I only got a trim, his blow dry/style was great. I was actually amazed at how many foils he put in my hair - it took him over 45min just to put all the foils in so there is definitely no concern of not getting a full head of foils. The only con is that it takes him forever - I was there for 4 1/2 hours. He is also a bit pricey - I paid 850 but keep in mind I have really long hair and didn't get basic foils he did a pretty complex balayage which varying shades. Good luck with your search!

Hi there, I was in a similar position to you back in the summer and was searching for a legal counsel position here in Dubai while not in the country yet. 1st question: Recruitment agency response time varies depending on the size and also your seniority (they tend to reply much faster to senior lawyers because they are more in demand). I would suggest always directly emailing your application to the poster as oppose to just applying to the position through the site. If you would like, I can give you more specific info based on the legal recruitment agencies as I was in contact with most of them. 2nd question: It took me a month and a half to find a job, another 3 weeks of negotiation before I accepted. There are alot of factors that go into the timeline though. For me I was dealing directly with the company so it went a bit faster, friends who have gone through recruitment agencies experienced a longer process. However I can say that almost all the people I know here have said once they accepted the position the companies are always in a big rush to get them out here and starting asap.

Hi Megan, I was in a similar situation as you before moving here. I decided to go with a studio apartment in JLT and am happy with my decision. My studio is 70K fully furnished not including chiller. I could have found something for a little less but really liked the layout of the studio and the funiture was all new and I didn't want to furnish myself. I wouldn't worry about being alone I have found it quite easy to make friends here - I would be happy to connect once you are out here as well. Good Luck!

Hi all, I have some visitors who are coming into town and are specifically looking for replica celine and givenchy bags. I've been told Karama is the place. Any advice/suggestions? I've seen a bunch of older threads but nothing too recent. Also I realize that replica bags are quite controversial and am fully aware of both sides of the arguments, so it would be great if I could get positive responses only. TIA!

Hi there, I've done a fair bit of research on this for partners at work and I would definitely recommend DIFC Wills over local wills. Especially if you have daughters!

yup we got an email about it last week at work. They are doing a photographic survey October 4-11. It will include partial road closures during certain times, and parking will be will not be allowed on the concourse level of Clusters.

Hi Ladies, I apologize if this isn't the correct place to post this. I have a parking space that I don't use in the X1 tower in JLT. If anyone is in need of a parking space I would be willing to rent it out for whatever you think is reasonable. Thanks!

Hey guys, Turns out you can't pay with an international credit card only GCC ones. I contacted customer service for various places. Just wanted to let anyone reading this know so they don't go off incorrect info!

Hi all, I will be moving to Dubai in September and am wondering if anyone knows of the market for dance instructors? I am a certified ballet teacher as well as having extensive experience in competitive and recreational teaching for jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hiphop and recreational tap. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Hi all, has anyone stayed in, or have information about, Dubai Gate 1? It seems they have some decent studio/1 bedroom apartments available? Any info would be great. Thanks!
